You were currently living on an island called Firefly Island. The reason for that name was because it was home to the rarest fireflies in the whole world. You lived with your parents, and being the only teen in the house you had a BUNCH of chores to do. Take out the trash, do the laundry, make the tables when it's time to have food, and do the dishes.
But it was ALL worth it. Thinking of such a great job you did for taking care of yourself and the house, your parents have given you the opportunity to take a one-month vacation to head to a nearby island. The island had no name, to your knowledge, and even if it did your parents didn't know what it was called.
Being so grateful for the idea from your parents, today was the day you went on your vacay of a lifetime.
"Okay! Make sure you don't forget to bring your extra pair of socks! The island you heading to is VERY wet!" Your best friend, B/F/N, said to you as you rummaged through your closet.
"Oh! And don't forget to take your phone! I don't want you to lose contact with me!" They said, tossing you your phone and you caught it dropping the clothing in your hands onto your bed.
"Oh! AND!-"
Getting cut of by a piece of your clothing thrown to their face, and to your laughter. "B/F/N! I'll only be gone for one month, not one decade!" you joke.
"But what if you make NEW best friends! And then forget all about my existence! I'll become a no-one in your world! You would forget my existence!-"
"B/F/N!" you laugh, cupping their cheeks together and making their lips turn into an 'o' shape.
"You are my BESTEST friend! If I'm dying? You dying with me! You are never gonna be forgotten in my world! Because you are my world!" Giving B/F/N a hug, you heard your mother shout.
"Y/N, dear! Time to go!"
"Already?! You have like what another 23 minutes before the boat arrives?!" B/F/N shouts confused. You giggled at their outburst, them sighing and standing up.
"Have the best time of your life, Y/N! You deserve this vaycay!" They hugged you and said goodbye.
"Thank you, B/F/N! I hope you have a good time with (your other friend's names.)"

"We are almost at our destination. Please keep all your electronics and babies tight in your grip, and stay seated. Thank you."
Spoke the man in the microphone of the boat you got onto to get to your dream island vaycay. From my seat, I leaned over the boat and looked over the horizon, and a small island cleared my vision. There were three to four mountains with snowy peaks and most of the bottom of the mountains was covered by dark oak trees and a bunch of bushes.
The next few minutes passed, and that's when the others, as well as me, were dropped off by the shore of this 'unknown island.'
"Thank you, sir." You smile, being the last one to jump off the boat. "It's not a problem ma'am. It's my job."
Waving goodbye to the boat driver, lots of other passengers went their own way, but I grabbed my luggage by the straps and wandered into the large oak forest of the island. It was quiet. The only sound was a couple of birds that chirped, and the sound of the leaves hitting each other due to the force of the wind.
You walked for a couple of more minutes, enjoying the quietness of the forest, thinking about when you'll see more civilization soon. Walking through the forest, you were finally able to find a large village. It was interesting because this village was a lot smaller than you've seen on the boat.
Walking closer to the village, there were more just like you. They were....mobian. You couldn't believe it. There were even more hidden away on this island. You were amazed. They all walked along the pathways of the village, meeting other mobians and having a fun time together.
You have some glances at the others when some noticed your presence. They have never seen you before, and have no idea who you are.
Unfortunately, it wasn't long until you felt something snatch your luggage right out of your hand, almost knocking you off balance when a figure crashed into you, running off with your bags. "Hey!" You shouted, chasing after what you assumed was a bandit. Seeing the red handkerchief he wore over his mouth, chin, and nose. Also seeing how he had dark black fur, and a furry tail and eyes, you assumed the animal was a wolf.
You chased the wolf through the village, following his movement around objects and other mobians, you said 'sorry!' as you knocked into a couple of others around. You soon chased the bandit to the seaside shore of the island where the bandit left most of your items. The luggage was wide open, and your valuables and most of your clothing were dirtied and missing.
"Are you shitting me!" you snarled, collecting your dropped items. As you collected them, you noticed your wallet and one of your phones were stolen as well, making you even more pissed than you were before. "Aw great!"
You collected your belongings scattered from the ground and placed them back in your bag.
Dusting off your clothing, you wandered through the shore of the ocean with your belongings hunched over your shoulder.
Soon you quickly noticed a shack when you turned the corner of the shore. "Maybe someone there will be able to help me get back to the village." You hated to admit it, but you got lost. All the paths look the same.
You sighed, walking towards the front of the shack, soon realizing it doesn't have a door. So you called out a 'Hello?'
"Congratulations, you're the third candidate!" You heard someone with a male voice call out to you.
You stood by the door, blinking a few times. Processing of what the heck just happened.
"I'm a- what?"

A few moments later, you found yourself steadied on a hoverboard at the top of a high peak of a hill in the forest. Three others joined you. With two mobians and one human.
One of the mobians had bright royal blue fur, with a cream stomach and a brown handkerchief around his neck. He also had bright red shoes with white straps and golden buckles, and white gloves with bandages wrapped around his hands. He also had green emerald eyes. He also had royal blue spikes that stuck out from the back of his head, making him look like a blue pineapple.
The second mobian was a yellow fox with two tails, and he also had white fur to cover most of his underbelly and around the bottom of his face as well as the tips of his two tails. He as well wore red shoes and had one thick white strap that covered most of his shoes, and he wore white gloves. He also wore a brown belt that connected to a second one as well, which was a shoulder belt. Goggles of the same color brown were resting on his forehead.
Then there was the human. He was a tall male, dressed in red and wearing black pants. He had white gloves as well. He wore goggles over his head, and he wore dark turquoise goggles to cover his eyes. He also had a brown thick mustache.
"All right!" Started the blue animal. "Being my sidekick is no easy task. This competition will test your strength, stamina, and endurance!"
"Competition? I never agreed to this!"
You panicked.
"The winner will be whoever-"
"Actually-" a small brown beaver peeked from behind thick trees and suddenly spoke. "It's whomever!"
Then it disappeared.
"The winner will be whomever makes it through the unimaginable hardships and brings me the red flag I planted atop the incredibly dangerous, but inaccurately named Mount Safety."
You watched as the man pushed the yellow fox to the ground down the hill with him following. Scared to move just yet, I looked to the blue spiked animal who gave me the motion to start.
I gulp, and used my foot to push myself forward and down the hill. I was good at keeping my balance on the board, but you almost fell off when a large gust of wind flew by you, leaving a trail of blue blurs behind you.
"what the-"
You were so caught in thought, that you never saw the small stump in your path. But you soon realized it, when you actually knocked into and began to topple down the mountain and into the woods, hitting trees and rocks in your path.
Reaching the end of the mountain peak, you found yourself out of the forest and by a river that was covered in frozen, cold ice. Spiting out leaves from your mouth, and taking the sticks out from your fur, you stood up now looking around you hear a familiar male voice yell.
"I can't swim!"
the splashing water could as well be heard. Rushing towards the voice you saw the same blue creature thrashed around in the water, somehow having the ice shattered around him.
"Your waterlogged! I can't lift you!" The two tailed-fox spoke as he held the wrist of his blue buddy. Hovered over the air with his tails becoming like a propeller.
"Don't worry about me" Spoke the blue animal, allowing one of its wrists to let go. "Get out of here!" By now, you were running behind the two other mobians, dropping your board.
"That's not what sidekicks do!" Replied the fox. You were able to dive into the water at the opposite side of the river and swam towards the mobian in the water. Successfully, I was able to life the blue animal up from the cold water. Seeing the animal get out ok, you swam up to the surface and started to violently shake and your teeth began to clutter.

Upon arriving, you saw the fox and his blue friend sit by the beach in front of that same shack you saw in the previous times. Clearing your throat, you got their attention. "H-Here.." You extend your shaking, cold arm with the hoverboard. "Y-You never g-got this back." The two stood up, and the blue mobian took the board from your hands. "Thanks!"
"Whoa, are you okay?" Asked the two-tailed fox asked with concern.
"Uh-Y-yeah. I'm fine-" You soon let out a small sneeze and sniffled.
"No, your not! Your freezing! It must've happened when you jumped in the water, am I right?" Asked the yellow fox, and you slowly nod letting out a small sneeze.
"I g-gotta find a place to stay or else I'll freeze to death-"
"Your staying here." The blue mobian said, motioning to his shack.
"Wh-what?"
"He's right. Your too cold to be out at the night. The temperature will drop and as you said, you will freeze!" The fox reasoned and you sighed. "I-I guess so."
The blue hedgehog took your cold hand and guided you into the shack with the yellow fox following close behind. Leading you inside, he sat you down on the couch and the yellow fox handed you a warm F/C blanket that you wrapped around your shivering body.
"Th-Thanks." He smiled in return. " No problem- uh.."
"Y/N."
"Y/N, huh?" he smiled sitting down next to you. "You can call me Tails."
"And I'm Sonic the Hedgehog!" The blue mobian grinned, pointing his thumb up to his chest.
"It's nice to meet you both!" you smiled, melting into the warmth of the fuzzy blanket.
"Same here, Y/N!"
A few moments of silence passed and you cleared your throat, getting the two's attention once more. "So uh- where, where am I sleeping?" You asked, and Sonic smiled. "You can have the couch!"
"Are you sure. I-I can sleep on the floor."
"No your not! What kind of gentleman would I be if I would tell a lady she has to sleep on the floor." He simply smirked and you just smirked back.
"Fine, then I'll sleep on the kitchen counter." You stood up with the blanket wrapped around your body and jumped over to the counter, making Sonic sigh.
You looked comfortable, so he didn't bother you and you laughed.
"Your one strange kid."
"So I've been told.."
"Oh! You should meet our other friends. How bout tomorrow?" Asked Tails, who smiled at how fun you were to be around. 'I'd love to!" You smiled.
