Jake's POV:
It had finally ended. We found Hannah. Micheal Hanson was in jail now. Everything was normal. Hannah was very weak and malnourished when they found her. But she's doing much better now.
All this was possible because of MC's help. I am so grateful to her.
We finally met last week. I was roaming around the roads, wandering aimlessly. Suddenly I noticed a silhouette of a women. She was coming closer, and I stood shocked when I saw her face, in the dim moonlight. It was her! MC!
She stood a few inches away from me. She was staring at me too.
"MC" I whispered out. "J-Jake?" she quietly said. She recognized me even without knowing how I look like. We stared at each other for a few seconds when suddenly she threw her arms around me and hugged me. I hugged her back. She started sobbing, her face buried in my neck.
"Jake... You are finally here." She said in between sniffles. "Yes, MC. I am here. And I am never going to leave you." I said that more to myself than to her. I was still wanted. It wasn't safe for her to be around me, or even be in contact with me. I can never put her in danger because of me, but I didn't wanted to let go of her either.
We stood hugging each other, on the middle of an empty road, under the beautiful moonlight and a starry sky.
"Come with me, Jake. Have you eaten anything today?" She innocently asked me. I shook my head. I hadn't eaten anything and I was really hungry.. And also... I really wanted to be close to her.
Together we walked to her apartment, it was so clean and comfortable. It had the perfect homely feel to it. She quickly made dinner for the both of us and to say that her food was delicious would be an understatement. It was freaking perfect!
I don't know how it happened.. But we went to her bedroom to sleep. She said she had been seeing nightmares since her encounter with Michael Hanson when they all went to find Hannah. I was more than happy to cuddle with her, I was sleep deprived myself and I felt comfortable and safe with her.
"Jake... I know this would sound really weird Considering this is the first time we ever met but Jake... I-I l-love you, Jake." she suddenly blurted out. I was shocked. We both stared into each other's eyes. I didn't know what to say. I loved her too. But I wasn't able to speak that out loud. "I-I am sorry i-"
" I love you too, MC. You're the only person who understands me, cares for me, loves me. You make me feel complete MC. There's no one in this world for me, except you. I would do anything for you. I fell for you a long time back but I was afraid that you wouldn't reciprocate my feelings. But now that I know that you feel the same- I love you so much, MC. " I confessed everything. It was difficult to say all those things, but once they were out, I felt relieved.
MC started crying again. I didn't wanted her to cry. She deserves only happiness. I hugged her tight. Then, I cupped her cheeks and before I knew it, my lips were pressed onto hers. It was the best moment of my life. The world around us had disappeared. There were no worries of the outside world, no worries of tomorrow, no bad memories of the past.. Just us. We slowly pulled away from each other. Both of us were blushing. And then one thing led to the other and we ended up doing something I know we shouldn't have done so soon.
I woke up at around 5 in the morning. MC's arm was wrapped around my waist, and her face was buried in my neck. I carefully moved her arm, I didn't wanted to wake her up. I slowly got up from the bed and got dressed. I looked at the love of my life. She looked so adorable while sleeping.
I was still staring at her when my phone started buzzing. It was an incoming call. I got out of MC's bedroom, towards the main door when I picked up the call. "We Know where you are Jake. We also know the people you are in contact with."
I froze. "Wh-who are you? What do you want?" I asked, my hands trembling. "Surrender yourself Jake. Or else, I don't think MC would be so fine."
"No! You wouldn't dare to do anything to her!" I yelled at the man. I was afraid that I would wake MC up so I quickly ran out of her apartment, towards the motel I was staying in.
"If needed, I will. If you don't want that, meet me at the Duskwood police station now.... Your game is over, Jake." before I could respond, he hung up. I started panicking. No, no, no! The thing that I feared the most was finally here for me to face. I will die but I will not let anything happen to my MC. No!
Without giving it much thought I made my way towards the police station. If it was a matter of choosing between MC's life and mine, of course my decision was clear! No one can harm her! Not on my watch!
Alan stood there, his arms crossed. He looked at me with a winning smirk. He came towards me. "Finally, I gotcha!" he said with a smug look. "What do you want?" I asked.
"It was bad of you to try to expose me, Jake. I know you have all the proofs against me and other big officers about our 'business'. You alone cannot stand up against us. After all, we are the protectors of law-"
"Yeah right. Protectors of law. It's the people like you, the law needs protection from. We both know about all your and those other filthy officers' doings, Alan. You will get what you deserve." I spat out at him. He looked unbothered and I so badly wanted to punch that smug look from his face.
"Officers, arrest him. The wanted hacker finally gave himself in." Alan smirked at me before I was being forcefully taken away in handcuffs.
They said I was punished for 'only' 9 years in prison because I agreed to hand over all the proofs I had against them. Which I had to, since they said that if I didn't, first they'll kill MC and then me. And there was no way in hell I'll let anything happen to her.
My days here were miserable. There didn't go by a day when I didn't think about MC. I didn't even tell her anything before disappearing. These officers said to just bury my case, they hid my imprisonment from the world. They just closed my case. No one will ever get to know what happened to me. MC will think that I just used her and left but that's no where near the truth! But at least she being heartbroken was better than her being dead.. I said these words to assure myself....
MC's POV:
It had been a week since I saw Jake. No texts, no calls, no nothing. It was as if he never existed. How can he just leave me like that, how can he just disappear after what all we did that night. And that night- that damn night! It was all because of that night I am in the position I am in right now. My hands were shaking, my face all sweaty.. I felt dizzy as those two pink lines were beaming at me. I was fucking pregnant! And there was no sign of Jake. I came out of the bathroom and sat on my bed. I was so shocked that I wasn't even able to cry. I just sat on my bed, staring at the floor for what seemed like two hours.
"How can he do this to me? He just disappeared, Jessy! No text, no call. Absolutely nothing! I have his baby inside of me! How will I take care of it? I can't-"
"Okay, MC. Calm down... I am coming to your house right now. Just don't cry and don't panic... I am right on my way.. "
After 10 minutes or so.. There was a knock on my door. I got up and immediately hugged Jessy when I saw her standing there. I broke down in tears as she gently rubbed my back. She basically carried me to the couch since I felt so weak and numb.
I cried and told her everything. She kept trying to calm me down but was it so easy?
"I am sure there must be a reason MC.. I know he won't leave you just like that."
"A week, Jessy! A week. He just used me! He used me to find his sister and then he just used me to fulfill his desir-"
"No MC! How can you say that?" Both Jessy and I looked over at my door which was wide open, and a hurt looking Lilly was standing there. "Li-Lilly? Since when are you standing there?" Jessy asked. "I am sorry but I heard everything. Jake would never just use you MC. My brother is not like that!"
"Oh yeah? You really know you 'brother' that well? Did you ever even meet him? What do you know about him?!" I yelled at her. "She doesn't, but I do." Hannah appeared from behind Lilly. "What the fuck? Both of you are here? Both of you were eavesdropping on our conversation?" I angrily shouted at both of them. I ran towards them and stood in front of them. "MC calm down. Jake is not like tha-"
"Get out." I said. "what? Listen to us-" "I said GET OUT!" I screamed at them and pushed them out of my house, slamming the door hard.
Jessy tried to calm me down but it wasn't working. I would not be miserable because of a man. This wasn't the first time it had happened to me. This is exactly what my father had done with my mother. He left her to raise me alone! I grew up despising my father. My mother wasn't the greatest mom. She was miserable without dad. She never took care of me, throughout my childhood I was neglected by her. She didn't take care of me when I was sick, she never appreciated me when I got good grades or won trophies. She didn't console me when my boyfriend had cheated on me. She was never there for me.
I left Jessy alone in the living room and cried myself to sleep. I hate you. I hate you, Jake.
