FADE IN:
INT. MANSION – DAY
The armed guards' barge in, aiming their weapons in all directions.
SE YOUNG: What?
She rises from her chair – something went wrong.
HAN: Holy-
MI DO: What's happening?
The armed guards advance menacingly toward Han, Mi Do and JK, who stumble back.
MI DO: What? What?
SE YOUNG: We know these guys. Go with them.
Mi Do, Han and JK have no time to reply as they get dragged out of the mansion. Chan and Y/n exchange glances.
CHAN: Get out of here.
Y/N: Are you okay?
She wants to address his uneasiness.
CHAN: Go.
An armed guard approaches Y/n, she silently follows him out the mansion as Chan rushes to Se Young.
CHAN: What is happening?
SE YOUNG: Our cover is blown.
The chief of the armed guard runs to Se Young and Chan, his arm resting on his gun.
CHIEF GUARD: We have confirmed the facilities have been evacuated without any casualties or captures.
CHAN: Who leaked?
SE YOUNG: Ozmo.
Chan stomps the floor.
SE YOUNG: Initiate code green.
CHIEF GUARD: Yes, ma'am.
He walks away talking into his earpiece. Chan rubs the back of his neck gritting his teeth.
SE YOUNG: We need to go.
CUT TO:
INT. CHAN'S SPACE JET – DAY
Y/n and Han are seated on the passenger seats of a space jet, they're alone which terrifies them even more.
HAN: Why did they put us in separate ships?
Y/N: I don't know.
HAN: What if they found out we're from-
He does a throat slicing gesture explaining what he means.
Y/N: Uh...no. They said they know these people.
HAN: Right...
Y/N: What?
HAN: I think I hallucinated she saying that. We're really going to die.
Y/N: N-
She watches Han brace himself hearing heavy steps enter the space jet. She sighs relieved seeing Chan.
HAN: Oh, thank God it's you! What's going on? Who are these people-
Chan ignores him sitting on one of the pilot seats and throwing on the switches on the control board.
HAN: Are we in trouble?
He sits on the seat beside Chan's, earning himself a glare from him.
HAN: Okay.
He looks away.
Y/N: Where are the others?
Chan is too busy prepping the ship, Y/n and Han mutter curses and complaints as they collect themselves.
CHAN: What are you doing?
HAN: What did I do?
He stands straighter to look unaffected.
CHAN: I need you to be my copilot.
Y/N AND HAN: WHAT!?
Y/N: YOU NEED HIM TO BE WHAT?!
HAN: I've never driven a ship before!
Chan throws an earpiece to Han and Y/n.
HAN: What's wrong with you?
They finish fixing the earpiece into their ears and hear static.
Y/N [INTO COM]: Unnie?
SE YOUNG [OVER COM]: Hi.
Y/n hold her earpiece as she sits in the seat in the back.
Y/N [INTO COM]: Where are you guys?
MI DO [OVER COM]: Look up.
Y/n lifts her head and sees Se Young's space jet hovering above.
HAN: Holy snicker snacker Go-
Chan glares at him.
HAN: I did not say Go- No.
He looks away.
HAN: What do you want me to do?
CUT TO:
INT. SE YOUNG'S SPACE JET – DAY
Se Young smiles seeing Chan's space jet lifts off from the ground too. Mi Do is sitting beside her as her copilot while JK is sitting in the back seat. Se Young turns her seat to face JK.
SE YOUNG: You said you know how to fly drones right?
JK's forehead wrinkles.
JK: No, how do you know?
SE YOUNG: Maybe I read your thoughts, but you can fly drones, right?
JK: Ugh... yeah.
A control panel assembles in front of JK.
SE YOUNG: I need you to control our missiles.
JK: Wha- What? Me? Shouldn't Mi-
He goes quiet.
CHAN [OVER COM]: We need to get going.
SE YOUNG [INTO COM]: Yeah, one sec.
She smiles encouragingly at JK.
JK: Okay, but what am I firing at?
Mi Do copies Se Young and they both turn their jet around.
SE YOUNG: Oh, you'll see.
CUT TO:
INT. CHAN'S SPACE JET – DAY
Y/n's eyes widen watching the live feed of the visuals from outside the space jet. She sees the many small spaceships fly toward them.
Y/N: We have company.
HAN: Of course, we do.
He sinks lower in his seat.
CHAN: How many?
Y/N: 10.
She studies the information flashing on her screen.
Y/N: There are no heat signatures from any of those ships.
HAN: We're all gonna die.
MI DO [OVER COM]: Chill out, Han. We're not going to die.
CHAN: You're sure they're unmanned?
Y/N: Yup.
SE YOUNG AND JK [OVER COM]: She's right.
Y/n shrugs her shoulder as Chan dances his fingers over the control panel. <ZIIIPPPP!!> Chan, Y/n and Han fall back against their seats as they dash ahead.
CUT TO:
INT. SE YOUNG'S SPACE JET – DAY
SE YOUNG: You ready?
MI DO: Always.
JK: No.
Se Young smiles as she and Mi Do push a lever at the same time. Just like Chan's space jet, theirs speeds ahead.
SE YOUNG: Let's show the Xalharian army how it's done.
JK freezes.
JK AND HAN: The who?
HAN [OVER COM]: The- the- the- WHO!?
CUT TO:
EXT. SPACE – NIGHT
Se Young's and Chan's space jets fly out of the atmosphere of Xalhar as the Xalharian army ships follow, firing missiles that end up blowing the space rocks floating around into dust.
CUT TO:
INT. CHAN'S SPACE JET – NIGHT
Chan studies the view ahead as Y/n intently studies the new information that keeps popping up on her screen.
SE YOUNG [OVER COM]: The nearest habitat is 100 bolts away. We can manage.
JK [OVER COM]: Uh...We have an issue.
Y/N [INTO COM]: What?
INTER CUT:
INT. SE YOUNG'S SPACE JET – NIGHT
JK reads his computer screen, which is processing the more complex information to make it simple for him to understand.
JK: They've nuclear missiles.
SE YOUNG: What?
MI DO: Well then why aren't they firing?
JK: Because they're saving it.
HAN [OVER COM]: For what?! MY FUNERAL!
Y/N [OVER COM]: No! We need to be careful.
<BOOM!> <BOOM!> <BOOM!> The Xalharian army ships continue firing. Missing only because they are incompetent.
Both ships speed ahead, twisting and turning as they dodge the attacks.
INTER CUT:
INT. CHAN'S SPACE JET – NIGHT
Lights of the explosions fill the space jet. Han's idle fingers tighten even more around the arm rests.
HAN: We'll be okay. I can do this...I can do this...I can't do this...I can't do this.
Y/N: Are you okay Han?
HAN: Oh, don't mind me, I'm just fearing my death... No worries.
CHAN: How many ships?
Y/N: 59.
MI DO [OVER COM]: What, the Xalharians wanted to send their entire army kill us?
Y/n laughs.
HAN: Now, why can't I fire missiles like JK?
JK [OVER COM]: How about, you're too scared.
HAN: Excuse me, says who?
Silence.
HAN: Okay, maybe I am. But I want to fire mis-
<BOOM!> He screams as their jet loses balance after getting hit.
INTER CUT:
INT. SE YOUNG'S SPACE JET – NIGHT
Se Young bites the inside of her cheek seeing Chan's jet get hit.
MI DO: They did not-
She is distracted by Se Young, who is aggressively hitting the controls. JK is surprised seeing Se Young so angry.
JK: Um... Se you-
<BOOOOMMMM!!!> The enemy ship explodes destroying the ones around it too. Se Young does not stop firing.
SE YOUNG: I'VE HAD ENOUGH!
Y/N [OVER COM]: Thanks.
JK and Mi Do make mental-notes. Don't make Se Young mad.
Se Young exhales deeply, collecting herself.
SE YOUNG: Where were we?
Mi Do avoids eye contact and focuses on the control panel in front of her.
INTER CUT:
INT. CHAN'S SPACE JET – NIGHT
Chan smiles, a little. He looks at Y/n.
CHAN: Take over the jet.
Y/n looks at him confused.
Y/N: Me?
CHAN: Yes. Fly the jet.
Y/N: You want me to fly this thing?
CHAN: If you don't want-
Y/N: Are you kidding!? Of course, I do.
She pushes the other control board away and pulls the pilot controls closer to her. She takes control over the jet with more ease than Chan expected.
CHAN: Push the yell-
Y/n is already 100 steps ahead.
CHAN: Good.
He smiles at her but Y/n does not notice.
HAN [TO Y/N]: And you want me to think you're not an alien. Sure.
He rolls his eyes. Together the two space jets dodge and fire back at the enemy ships.
INTER CUT:
INT. SE YOUNG'S JET – DAY
Se Young is proud of Y/n.
SE YOUNG [INTO COM]: I think it's time guys.
MI DO: For what?
SE YOUNG: The most fun and dangerous part of fighting the Xalharian army.
JK: And what would that be?
The jet turns to face the Xalharian army ships.
HAN [OVER COM]: Why?! Why?! We're so close to escaping! Wrong way guys!
CHAN [OVER COM]: Particles engaging.
SE YOUNG: In 3...2...1...
Both jets jerk back as blue light is released. It swallows the Xalharian army ships, the blue transforms into a forcefield trapping them.
INTER CUT:
INT. CHAN'S SPACE JET – DAY
Y/n's mind is blown.
Y/N: You did not! I can't believe it!
Han looks at her clueless.
HAN: Can you not keep it to yourself and for Go- no my, for my sake, explain?!
Y/N: They're converting those ships into atoms! Can you believe it?!
HAN: No. No I cannot. I don't believe science because I don't understand it!
Chan watches Y/n looking at the explosion as if it were fireworks.
CUT TO:
EXT. FOREST – NIGHT
The 2 space jets land on alien ground. Se Young rushes out her jet to Y/n.
SE YOUNG: You, okay?
Her gaze busy scanning Y/n.
Y/N: Yes. You.
Se Young nods. Han kneels to the ground grateful.
HAN: I'm alive!
Chan walks to Se Young with a tablet in hand, they walk to a tree and mutter. JK and Mi Do walk toward Y/n and Han.
MI DO: Awesome right?
She and Y/n high five.
JK: Are you okay?
HAN: Yeah-
He realizes JK is looking at Y/n.
Y/N: Huh? Me?
Everyone looks at JK puzzled.
JK: What? She has CIPA, shouldn't I ask?
TIME CUT:
INT. CHAN'S SPACE JET – NIGHT
Y/n wakes up, the blanket on her falls down as she turns to see Han asleep in his seat. She hears the sounds of Chan fixing the jet.
Y/N: He never sleeps does he? Aish...
CUT TO:
EXT. FOREST – NIGHT
Y/n climbs down the jet. She finds Chan fixing capsules to the back end of the jet.
Y/N: You'll wake the others.
CHAN: Already did. Han threatened to call the Xalharian army again if I continue.
Y/N: I see.
Chan looks around, Y/n follows his gaze to learn he's searching for a tool. He finally finds the weird looking screwdriver far from his reach and tries reaching for it. Y/n steps in and hands it.
CHAN: Thanks.
Y/N: Today is a first for many things.
She smiles as she looks down. They stay silent. Y/n hesitates to ask.
CHAN: It's true.
Y/N: What is?
CHAN: The war crimes...
Y/n is honestly surprised.
Y/N: Oh.
Chan stops what he's doing and looks down.
CHAN: You should talk to Se Young, I'm the wrong person.
Y/N: I see.
CHAN: Are you mad?
Y/N: I don't know... I-I should go back.
Chan nods, Y/n walks back in, lost in her thoughts.
CUT TO:
INT. SE YOUNG'S SPACE JET – NIGHT
Y/n walks through the narrow passage in Se Young's jet, she does not know how she's supposed to react, she can't wrap her head around what Chan told her. She stops passing a room.
Y/N: Wait.
She turns to the room, her eyebrows furrowed and opens the door, she sees JK sitting in front of monitors watching Mi Do and Han's dreams.
Y/N: JK?
He turns to face her and gestures her to take a seat. She enters and sits on a chair beside him.
Y/N: You did this?
JK: No.
They laugh watching Han's dreams.
Y/N: What are you doing here?
JK: I don't know, I just wanted to come.
Y/n nods.
JK: It was cool today.
Y/N: Right?
JK: I never thought I'd enjoy those kinds of things. I never even thought I'd ever fight aliens.
Y/n looks at him and smiles.
JK: I only thought I'd get to do this in video games. Today was awesome.
He smiles at her. A black screen switches on, it's an incoming call. Before Y/n and JK even look at it, the call gets connected.
RACQUEL: Sup.
The lady on the screen reads a file, she does not see Y/n and JK while her gaze remains on the file.
RACQUEL: We tried getting Ozmo's location to send in the killer drone but no luck, he's using the few brain cells he has left to survive but we'll get him... Anyways, about your earthling friends tell them I've got bad news-
Y/N: Ex-excuse me?
Racquel finally looks up.
RACQUEL: Holy...Oh. Hi.
JK and Y/n stare back at her.
RACQUEL: I thought I was calling Chan...
JK: Who are you?
RACQUEL: Who am I? ...Who are you?
She looks at Y/n.
RACQUEL: Who are you?
Y/N: Ugh...
RACQUEL: Do you happen to be his (does a throat slicing gesture) friends?
JK: Why does everyone keep doing that?
Y/N: You know Chan?
RACQUEL: Do I know... Of course, I do!
She smiles.
RACQUEL: Anyways, where is he?
Y/N: Uh...
JK: Somewhere.
RACQUEL: I see, you do know that's the name of the planet you're on.
JK and Y/n are taken aback.
Y/N: Yeah, we know. Pfft!
She and JK exchange nervous glances. Racquel chuckles.
RACQUEL: I'm Racquel, I help your friends Chan and Se Young. You must be JK and Y/n.
Y/N: Right...wait you know our names-
CHAN: NO!
JK flinches. He and Y/n straighten seeing Chan and Se Young standing at the doorway.
RACQUEL: About time-
Chan gestures JK and Y/n to leave as he nears the desk.
CHAN: What did you tell them?!
RACQUEL: Nothing!
Y/n and JK walk toward the exit when Se Young stops them.
SE YOUNG: You want to watch this.
CHAN: Goodbye!
RACQUEL: Oh, come on! Admit it I'm your only hope right now. Without me you'll die!
CHAN: Then I'd rather die.
RACQUEL: Fine then let me just say this, we did not do this.
CHAN: What?
RACQUEL: For your friends, which I'm surprised you have, to understand the aliens are not the ones who want to conquer Earth.
Y/N: What do you mean? They obviously do.
RACQUEL: Nope. Earth called the aliens.
HAN: WHAT!?
He and Mi DO walk in. Chan rubs his forehead.
CHAN: Great.
RACQUEL: That's why we can't help, because it's Earth who wants the aliens to conquer them. You're the problem.
