"Instead of coming to base right away to start planning, you went out on a little date with your girlfriend" Comrade Joo sneers at Sooho as they enter the basement of Taegeuk Hardware Store.
"Leader Im!" Eung-Cheol salutes as he noticed the pair, the other North Korean spies following.
Sooho nods in acknowledgment to Eung-Cheol and the others, ignoring Gyeok-chan's words.
"Comrade Im" Gyeok-Chan calls out once again. "Did you not hear what I said, while you were busy with your stupid date our comrade died at the hands of those South Korean Bastards"
"I heard you the first time Comrade Joo" Sooho answers back expressionless, while he feels terrible for the death of Geum-cheol. He needs to move forward as to not let any more men of his die from this stupid mission. "We can talk later. First, I need to communicate with the North about certain changes on the plan"
"Certain changes? Date? Girlfriend? What? " Eung-Cheol asked clearly confused, he stared at the other spies who only shrugged not knowing what is going on. "Leader you went on a date" Eung-Cheol grinned "who knew Im Sooho knew what a date was or that other girls besides his sister exist" he laughs.
Sooho rolls his eyes at the blatant tease. "My face is now known to the ANSP, so it will be hard for me to move. And the money will be placed at the mountain near the Dorm that I was last seen at, which in my opinion is a stupid idea if they want me to get it" he turns to face the other spies "I've gotten intel on areas where the ANSP would not find us, its best to change the position of where the money will be placed, and to change the date when we bring Professor Han to the North, We can't go at December 6 the sea will be watched by the South Korean Military we go either early or later" he tells them
Gyeok-chan furrows his eyebrows clearly skeptical at the words of their leader "And how do you know all that?"
"The future," He thinks
Sooho remains quiet, slightly glaring at Gyeok-chan daring him to disobey his order.
Sighing, Gyeok-chan just shakes his head and passed Sooho to the other room, he mumbles loud enough just for Sooho to hear. "Don't think you're that trusted by the North Comrade Im"
Sooho sighs as he hears those words.
He knows, he now knows that the North would abandon him without a second thought just for the money, how they would threaten his sister's life just to keep him loyal. He knows that now.
It just took a hostage situation with the girl he loves to let him see that.
They watch as Gyeok-chan leaves the room, the other spies turning their attention to Sooho, who was wearing a crisp blue suit.
"We're glad you're alright Leader" one of them greets happily
Sooho smiles in acknowledgment "Thank you, I am glad you guys are alright, were there any problems in the past few days?"
"None sir, We still have intel on all of Professor Han's Schedule we can take him tomorrow in the church"
"Tomorrow?" Sooho asked raising an eyebrow, "You're that confident?"
"Yes sir, it's our best shot, we planned on breaking you out of the dorm today if you haven't escaped" the other replied
Eung-Cheol presses his lips together, "How did you escape? And where did you get those clothes? Where are your old ones?"
Sooho looked down at the suit he was wearing, the scene of Youngro giving him her brother's clothes flashed through his mind
"Here, these are the clothes you will wear tomorrow for the Open House," Youngro tells him as she silently observes his build wondering if the clothes would fit the man.
But for Sooho, he was focusing more on her face. Just like in the past her left cheek was slightly redder than the other side, almost like she was slapped. He didn't point it out in the past hoping to put some distance between them no matter how curious he was.
Sooho pointed at her left cheek while she was busy observing him, noticing that the man was more focused on her face than the bag with the clothes he needed to wear. Youngro tilts her head to the side confused at what he's pointing at.
"Your face, the left side is red. Like it was slapped" he pointed out.
Youngro's eyes widened she reached up to touch her face where her stepmother slapped her. She didn't know she was slapped that hard that the imprint was still on her face several hours later.
She waves her hand in dismissal, "it's nothing Sooho-Oppa"
Sooho places the bag down to grab her hand that was holding her cheek, he stares at the red mark on her face. The slap she received from Comrade Kang echoed through his mind. "It doesn't seem like anything Youngro, What happened?"
Youngro stared up at his face to see his eyes filled with concern and worry, she sighed she knew she couldn't lie to the man. "It was just my stepmother"
Sooho's eyebrows shot up "Your stepmother did this?" He grits his teeth in anger."Why would she?
Youngro just shakes her head "Well in reality I did Slam their picture frame on the floor in front of her" she chuckles at that.
He sighs in disbelief "Youngro-ya, she slapped you"
Youngro rolls her eyes at his sudden overprotectiveness over her. She moved closer to wrap her hands around his waist hugging him tightly.
Sooho shocked just hugged her back.
Youngro smiles as she felt Sooho's arms wrap around her "It doesn't matter Oppa, I haven't been to that place for 10 years and just came back to get my brother's clothes and then just broke their picture frame. I can understand why she would slap me for that. I am not completely innocent"
Sooho hugs her tighter "But it's that woman's fault you haven't been home for years"
She shakes her head as she inhales Sooho's scent. "That place isn't home, it's nothing but a house with memories. Home is where one feels the safest, and that place isn't home"
'You are' She thinks. She may have not known the man she's hugging for long. But she knew deep inside that this man would keep her safe no matter what.
"I am sorry you had to go to that place just for me" Sooho mumbles, Youngro did a lot for him in the past and now. He would keep her safe no matter what.
"Don't be Oppa" She tells him with a smile as she pulls back from the hug so that she could see his face. "Something like this isn't a problem at all, I don't mind doing it for you"
Sooho chuckles a bit "You really are something else Eun Youngro"
She grins at that "I know right, that's why you better not ghost me again!"
Sooho laughs hearing those words pulling her back to a hug. He rests his chin at her shoulder, enjoying her presence.
"One of the students in the dorm hid me in their attic and then helped me escape by acting that I was her partner for their Open House event" Sooho answers Eung-Cheol, "We met around 6 months ago in the blind date Gwang-Tae dragged me into so that I could get closer with Professor Han, she remembered who I am and helped me"
"So the girlfriend and date Comrade Joo was talking about earlier was that same girl?" Eung-Cheol asked gaining a nod from Sooho "Huh, was she pretty?"
The other spies just laugh while Sooho just snorts "Go to your stations and give me the details about Professor Han, I will talk to the North now" He orders.
"Yes sir!" they saluted. and left the area to give their leader his space.
Except one
"So was she pretty?"
"Go"
Yes Sir!"
Sooho just shakes his head in amusement once he was alone. 'Was she pretty?' she was ethereal, no words were enough to describe how she appeared to him. He couldn't help but grin at the thought of her being his girlfriend, they never talked about what label they seemed to have. But one things for sure that's where their relationship will lead to
If he wanted to have her as his he needed to do this right, with that in mind he sauntered to the desk where the phone was to communicate with the North about the slight changes of plans.
~~~~Hose Dorm University~~~~
Youngro grins as she walks through the washroom, basin at hand as the other girls were busy teasing her about her handsome date. While Sooho and her were able to escape the dorm with no difficulties some of her dormmates were able to spot them and notice her handsome partner.
"Wah, Youngro your date was so hot!"
"I know right! Why did you guys leave right away?"
"You didn't even bother trying the games or go to the dance floor"
"Yeah when we passed Jeong-min Unnie she said that you guys already left in the bicycle"
"I think it's because Youngro just want to keep him all for herself"
"That's true with how hot he is, everyone would just flock to his side"
"Girls!" Youngro laughs "Quit it," she tells them as she places her basin down.
The other girls not knowing when to quit just grabbed her elbow in excitement,
"Come on Youngro, tell us something"
"Like what?" Youngro laughs.
"Like that necklace your wearing, I've never seen that before" Hye-ryeong points out as she, Seol-hee, and Jeong-min come closer to the group of girls.
All the other girls placed their attention on the pigeon necklace on Youngro's neck, never seeing that necklace before on the girl.
Youngro reached up to fiddle with it, a smile on her face as she remembers how she got it.
"Sooho-Oppa?" she questions as she felt the man pull back from their almost kiss. "Did something-"
She wasn't able to finish her sentence as he leaned once again to place a kiss on her forehead instead. Shocked she reaches up to touch the place his lips met. "Eh?"
Sooho smiles at her "Sorry Youngro-ya, but I need to go now, I might get spotted here"
She looks down in disappointment, she was enjoying the moment so much she forgot that the man in front of her was being chased by her father's men. And he doesn't even know her father's men was the one chasing after him. She pouts.
"I see, I am sorry, you're right you need to go now" She stands up and was about to leave only for him to grab her elbow gently.
Youngro stares at him as he reached around his neck to remove his necklace. She takes a step back as she realized what he was planning to do. "Sooho-Oppa?"
Like how he did in the past he placed the necklace on her and smiled. "It looks good on you," he tells her
She reaches to touch the necklace, "But Sooho-Oppa, Your sister gave this to you hoping you would be safe, your being chased Oppa, You need this more than me" she was about to remove the necklace to give it back to him but was stopped by the man himself.
"Just keep it Youngro-ya, I can't leave you unless you wear that. Think of it as a symbol that I will come back to you" he tells her. "And I will come back to you"
Youngro just smiles sheepishly as she stares at the girls.
Hye-ryeong's eyes widened "He gave it to you?"
Youngro nods hesitantly at the question, making all the other girls squeal in excitement.
"No way!"
"He gave it to you?"
"Wah I am so jealous"
Youngro laughs as she watches the girl's reaction, only for it to disappear as she saw Bon-ok glare towards her from the entrance of the washroom. She was about to call her attention only for Bon-ok to walk away in anger.
Confused Youngro went back to the events that transpired throughout the day, Bon-ok shouldn't have seen her with Sooho, Seol-hee was able to distract Bon-ok when they left using the bicycle, and they avoided her eyes everywhere. So she couldn't understand why their phone operator seems angry.
She scratches her head for a moment before her attention was stolen once again by the girls beside her.

"Yes, The student Eun Youngro was the one who hidden him in the dorm"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, she's dating him"

Sooho cursed the Universe, What was the point of bringing him back to the past only for the same events to happen again.
He took whatever precautions to make sure the hostage situation would never happen again.
The way he made sure to kidnap Professor Han by avoiding the ANSP agent's routes since he knows where they are placed.
The way he made sure to emphasize to his 'father' that the south should place the bag of money far away from the dorm.
How he reached out to his contact in the South Korean Military to make sure Eun Young-U would be transferred to a mission to Jeju Island, the number of strings he had to pull behind his comrades' back just to get it done gave him a headache.
The effort he placed in making sure that he could leave the dorm without arising any suspicion on Youngro.
The way he intercepted the message of Kim Mad-dong of wanting to go back to the North won't reach Lee Gang-Mu.
The way he finally made Youngro happy in this life.
All wasted as he found himself in the Dorm once again, Comrade Joo and Comrade Lee right behind him. A grenade on his left hand, and Eun Youngro being held as a hostage on his right.
The tears on her face were evident. The trauma he gave her in the past, he gave it once again
He couldn't change a thing.
Sooho was about to go to the pier with his comrades only to get a tip that Gang-mu got information that Youngro helped him. He didn't know how Gang-mu got that information since Bon-ok didn't even see them, and none of her closest friends would rat her out, and Kim Man-dong wouldn't expose himself to that. He cared about Youngro he would never betray her that way.
He didn't think twice he rushed to the dorm, he needed to find a way to make sure Youngro wouldn't be dragged into this mess.
So with the bloody clothes he had, he plans on leaving them near the shrine. Making it seem like he stayed there the whole time, with a fake plan on how to escape the area to make it seem like he escaped on his own.
Not his brightest idea, but the thought that Youngro could be in danger pushed all logical thinking out of his mind.
Not even realizing that Youngro is the daughter of their boss, and if the higher-ups found out they placed Eun Youngro under suspicion, it would cost them their jobs.
That small detail was forgotten and he scolds himself for being irrational and emotional at that moment.
Because now Sooho is facing the consequences once again of his stupidity.
Since he was once again trapped by the ANSP in the shrine that led to the dorm thanks to Kim Sang-beom's drunk ass that wouldn't shut up.
So as he stares at the rest of the ANSP agents in front of him, he grips the grenade tighter in frustration. He points at Lee Gang-mu demanding him to stay, and of course, he agreed.
Sooho needs to get Gang-mu in his side earlier, he needed them to work once again.
And this time they will keep it a secret even from the hostages, he can't afford for Mang-dong to know about their future team-up. No matter how much the old man cares about Youngro he was still loyal to the North.
As they gather all the hostages to the cafeteria after the rest of the agents left, he couldn't help but snort a bit that Kim Sang-Beom, Oh Gwang-Tae, and Choi Byeong-Tae once again are part of the hostages.
Once all the hostages were gathered and quiet in the cafeteria, and all the bombs set in place, he called for a meeting with the rest of his comrades
And of course, Comrade Joo had a lot to say
"That girl is nothing but trouble, look at what your actions got us in too" Comrade Joo hisses to Sooho, while Eung-Cheol just stays silent at the side, listening to his comrades argue.
"It wasn't her fault this all happened" Sooho counters "Why couldn't you just follow my orders"
"I came to follow you to make sure you won't do anything stupid! I am this close to killing the girl to teach you a lesson"
Sooho glares at him, he raises his gun to Gyeok-Chan's face "She's the ANSP director's daughter, if we want to survive she needs to stay alive"
Eung-Cheol and Gyeok-chan's eyes widen at that.
"Is that why you went after her?" Eung-Cheol asked their leader.
Sooho clenches his fist at the words, just like in the past. It seems like he needs to hide his feelings towards her once again "Yes"
He denied his feelings, not realizing that Kim Man-dong was listening to their conversation the whole time.
"That girl is the daughter of the ANSP director she could have been helpful, She could have been used to help clear my name as a 'spy' to the ANSP" He lies through gritted teeth. "But now she could be used as the perfect bargaining chip against them," he orders, he pushes the muzzle of the gun at Comrade Joo's chest "So don't do anything stupid" he orders.
Comrade Joo swats the gun away and glares back "That better be the only reason" he tells him as he exits the area to watch over the hostages. "Or else you're a dead man, leader" he mutters.
Eung-Cheol left the area as well to follow Comrade Joo.
Sooho sighs as he was left alone in the room, he looks up at the ceiling frustration evident throughout his entire being.
He questions why does this happen
Does he need to be punished a second time?
Was he that much of a sinner that he had to experience this all over again?
He looks at the gun in his hand before throwing it to the wall.
The face of Eun Youngro when she realized what was happening flashed through his mind, the fear in her eyes, the way her body was shaking as he used her as a human shield, how she seemed so small as she crouched down trying to block the loud sounds of the gunfights.
It happened in the past and it happened again.
He grips his hands tight, he could feel the blood as he digs his fingers into his palms, he lets out a bitter chuckle and once again questions his fate,
A tear escaped his eyes, he mutters "Why?"

Gang-mu sneers "You have to admit it's a crazy plan"
"Then you think of a plan" Sooho glares at him
"I would if I could but my mind still isn't functioning properly from the punch you gave me you brat" Gang-mu states as he points at his now bleeding temple.
Sooho snorts "That's your own fault"
"I didn't even touch your girl!"
Sooho shrugs "and?"
Gang-mu lets out a chuckle in disbelief "Does Eun Youngro know her boyfriend is a jealous freak"
Sooho smiles at the word 'boyfriend' the situation they are in is hopeless but that word makes him giddy in the inside.
Gang-mu observes the man's behavior realizing something, he questions. "Wait, you two aren't dating yet?" Sooho just shrugs in response. Gang-mu's nose flares up exasperated "You punched me and you two aren't even dating!?!"
