Shoyo groaned softly at the sound of his alarm clock, 6:30 AM it reads. Rolling out of bed he sighed softly and rubbed his face and started his day, since today would be Sunday he knew that his team the MSBY Black Jackals would have a day off for today and tomorrow. What is the player to do on his days off? He could clean his already clean apartment, he could call his other friends in hopes that they're not busy with work related things, he could work out and train more to become better then he already is, or he could sit on his couch and do nothing all for two days. The last options seems tempting but he decided to see who had a day off. After cleaning himself up and using the bathroom Shoyo grabbed his phone and scrolled though his contacts.
'Mmm.. I could call Bokuto.. no he's out with Akaashi from what I heard' he sighed softly 'Yamaguchi? No way I don't think he even has free time with him working' he sighed again and continued to scroll though his contacts making up some excuse for why his friends wouldn't be willing to hang out, that was until he stopped a too familiar name "Tobio Kageyama" would read as his contact. Shaking his head no before he accidentally clicked call he set his phone down "Ain't no way he would pick up he's a volleyball player like me and besides I don't even know his work schedule so there isn't a possible way he would have free time" "But I do, did you want to hang out or something Hinata?"
Shoyo couldn't believe what he had heard. Did he had call him?! Of course he did but it was completely accidentally shit shit shit what is he to do? Hang up just like that? No way that would be rude! Say sorry and blow it off as a butt dial? Hell no, that would make it seem as if he didn't want to talk to him! Damn it Shoyo why did you have to get out of bed!? After a much needed deep breath Shoyo picked up the phone "Hey Kageyama, sorry about that. Um.." he cleared his throat "I don't know if you're busy today but I just wanted to know if you're willing to hang out since you know, I have a day off?"
Silence on the other phone was heard. Did he hang up? "Sure, I'm free today, I just checked my schedule and I am free so what are the plans? Unless you want me to go over?" Shoyo sighed as he smiled a bit 'maybe I will have something to do' he thought as he replied to Tobio "yeah sure I could text you my address and we could plan a day out or something." Shoyo put the other on speaker as he send his home address "there is should be sending soon" from the other line there was light shuffling sounds before Tobio responded "yeah I got it, okay cool see you in a few?"
And with that Shoyo had his old high school friend, team mate, and even crush coming over to his home. He has to get ready. No he NEEDS to get ready, oh god what if they kiss?! What if he wants to move in!? Shoyo wasn't mentally prepared for this! "Shower, get dressed and clean" he repeated as he quickly got undressed and took a much needed shower "Now getting dressed" Shit what is he to wear?!
Should he go casual? Formal? Casual forma? Wait what the hell is he thinking?! They haven't even planed out where they're heading yet. So he went for casual, good thinking too because a few moments later Tobio had arrived in casual looking clothing. "Hey Hinata I haven't seen you in so long." The raven haired male hugged the ginger smiling slightly "How have you been?" Shoyo hugged back almost immediately, taking in the scent of the other before pulling back.
"I've been good, pretty busy with the team and training but good. How about you? How is your life going? Anyone special?" God why did he ask if he saw seeing someone!? He earned a light chuckle from the other male, "well my life has also been busy, I am good because I am with you duh. As for the special someone.. uh.." he laughed and rubbed the back of his neck unsure of what to say. "No, sorry you don't have to answer that it was a stupid question!" The ginger put his hands up slightly signaling the other to stop.
Tobio smiled slightly "naw it's okay, I am not seeing anyone but I have someone in mind." his cheek turned a slight pink. This sadden the other, 'he has someone in mind? Great..' he told himself as he forced a smile. "Well congrats, I hope you tell them how you feel soon, they'd be a lucky lady." He then forced a short laugh.
Tobio chuckled softly "yeah right about that.. it's a um.." he cleared his throat "It's a boy" his cheek heat up more, Shoyo looked at him "oh.. Oh.. OH! I didn't know you were-" the shorter boy was then cut off "I'm bi actually, not gay but yeah" he laughed again trying to clear the air of their recent conversation "Well thank you for telling me, I feel honored" he smirked proudly "shut up Boke, also what did you have in mind for going out?"
Shoyo hummed gently "Well you see I don't know.. it's mid morning so maybe coffee? I know this good place." Tobio smiled and nodded "coffee it is." The two make there way out of Shoyo's apartment complex and started walking "it's a five minute walk if you don't mind" he smiled and looked over at Tobio who had moved to walk next to him "no I don't mind at all this, we could talk more like this anyways."
The two walked and talked about anything that came to mind, Shoyo then ended up coming out to Tobio as pan which he happily supported him. After their small walk Tobio open the door and waited for him to enter before entering himself. "This place may be small but trust me their blue berry muffins are amazing!" Tobio could have sworn that he saw sparkles in the others eyes as he talked about how amazing this cafe, he found it.. cute.
After the two picked out what they wanted, Tobio with a normal coffee with the blue berry muffin that Shoyo insisted on he tried and Shoyo with his usual caramel mocha with a chocolate croissant because why not. Tobio had began to pull out his wallet but a hand stopped him "no don't worry I'll pay" Shoyo gave him a smile as he handed his card over paying "Boke you could have let me paid I wouldn't have mind."
After grabbing their drinks and pastries they walked near a two seat table in a small corner "No it's okay, besides it was my idea to hang out." The two took their seats and smiled softly, Hinata let out a satisfied sigh after taking a sip of his drink "So.. do you plan on telling this person how you feel?" Shoyo suddenly asked which took Tobio by surprise a bit making the heat rise to his cheeks "Ah well.. I don't know yet.. kinda scared too you know?"
Shoyo looked at him and smiled "what? The grate Kageyama Tobio scared? Am I dreaming?" Tobio blushes and scoffed as he grabbed his cheeks and pulled them a bit "Oh will you shut it dumbass, so what if I am scared huh?" he the hid his face being embarrassed. "Aww Kageyama I was just teasing." He said as he rubbed his cheek gently "come on you can be scared, but I still think you should tell them." he took a bit of the croissant "Look if you're so scared practice on me." Shoyo offered as he smiled wide.
Tobio lifted his head up a bit as he looked at the male "are you stupid? I can't do that it be too weird" he huffed and took a bite of the muffin which earned him a small scoff from the other "oh come on! I am trying to be helpful, let me be a good friend!" the other begged and pleaded until Tobio rolled his eyes and finally agreed "Alright! Jeez- I'll practice on you" he sighed gently and ran a hand through his hair.
Shoyo smiled and scooted his chair closer to Tobio "okay now go" Shoyo said smiling. Tobio took a deep breath and looked at him "hey, so there is something I wanted to tell you." "Oh what's up?" the smaller boy smiled at him "well.." he sighed and rubbed his face "I've liked you for a really long time." Tobio scooted closer and leaned in a bit "I was wondering if you wanted to go out sometime?" Shoyo smiled and nodded he held his hands "Sure thing, I am free tomorrow if that works?"
Tobio nodded as he blushes more "S-Sure! I mean yes that works." Shoyo had scooted closer to him only inches away "awesome, can't wait" he said softly and before you knew it Tobio grabbed the back of the other's neck and pushed him into a kiss. Shoyo's eyes widen before they slowly closed, he found himself kissing back only to realize that Tobio liked someone else "Wait Kags stop" he said as he pulled back.
Tobio looked at him "We can't.. what about the boy? I thought you liked someone else?" Shoyo looked down at his fingers playing with them a bit. Tobio ran a hand though his hair "don't you get it?" he said softly, Shoyo looked at him "get what? I don't understand why you kissed me, was it just a practice?" Tobio mentally slapped Shoyo, was he that stupid? "Don't you get it!? I like you dumbass!" Shoyo's eyes widen "Wait what?! I'm the boy?!" Tobio, now red faced nodded "yeah, why did you think I was so eager to come over? Why do you think I told you I was bi? Hell why did you think I kissed you?!"
Shoyo groaned "I don't know okay!?" he looked at him with soften eyes "so it's me you like then just to clarify?" Tobio nodded "what.. what about you?" Tobio was hesitant when it came to asking. The ginger sighed "how could I not?! You're attractive, cool, scary sometimes.." Tobio smiled softly and grabbed his hand "..So where should we go tomorrow?" Tobio questioned, Shoyo looked at him and held his hand "oh you were serious on that? Heh, I guess we can hang out some where nice, like a real date not a coffee date."
Tobio smiled "I'd like that." Shoyo smiled with him "Me too."
