MEIKO'S POV

"You should sleep now Meiko.. I'll go talk to him in his room.."

Nandito ako ngayon sa kwarto ni Ate Lin nakahiga.. dito daw muna ako matulog..

Pumayag din naman ako dahil hindi ko pa kayang harapin si Ivan pagkatapos ng nangyari..

"A-ate.." Tawag ko sa kanya bago sya tuluyang lumabas ng kwarto..

"Hmm?"

"Pano nyo po nalaman na lumabas ako..?"

"Oh.. About that, I was about to sleep earlier when I heard a loud noise sa room ni Ivan so I went there.. and I saw Ivan sitting on the bed while burying his face on his knees... Wala ka don sa kwarto and I figured something happened so I tried to look for you outside.."

Nahihiya pa rin ako sa ginawa ko.. hindi lang kay Ivan pati na rin kay Ate Lin.. dito ko pa ginawa sa pamamahay nila..

"I told you it's fine, Meiko. You didn't mean to hurt him.. I know you tried to do something for his sake but It didn't work out. I'll only get mad at you if you intentionally hurt him------"

"H-hindi po! Hindi ko po magagawa yun sa kanya!"

"I know... these last several years... I can see my brother has taken care of you so well you can't even say no to him.. You've come to believe that you should take full responsibility and repay him no matter what just because he has done so much for you."

Wala akong maisagot sa sinabi ni Ate Lin.. dahil may parte sa kalooban ko na nagsasabi na tama lahat ng sinabi nya.

Hindi ako makatulog ng maayos sa pamamahay nila pagkatapos nun..

"I understand.. get your things, I'll wait for you in the car.."

Nginitan nya naman ako bago lumabas ng kwarto nya..

Napabuntong hininga nalang ako.. saka Bumangon ng kama at kinuha yung mga gamit ko bago lumabas..

Nung makalabas na ako sa kwarto ni Ate Lin ay napatingin ako sa kwarto ni Ivan..

Nakasarado na ang pinto nito..

Gusto kong humingi ng tawad sa kanya.. gusto ko syang kausapin pero.. h-hindi ko pa kaya.. ngayon..

Bukas ko nalang sya kakausapin sa skwelahan.. para makapaghanda ako sa mga sasabihin ko.. lalong lalo na ngayon na.... kay keiji....

"Are you really sure about what you said earlier, Meiko?" Tanong ni Ate Lin saken habang nagmamaneho.

"Y-yung ano po..?"

Madami akong sinabi kanina nung mag usap kami sa labas kaya hindi ko alam kung ano ang tinutukoy nya..

I was silenced for a moment..

Kung may paraan pa para mawala to, gagawin ko yun dahil hindi ko pinili na mangyari lahat ng to.. at lalong hindi ko pinili na magkagusto sa kanya.

Hindi ko nga alam kung magiging masaya ba ako sa mga nangyayari..

Ipinikit ko nalang ang mata at umidlip.. Sasakit lang ang ulo ko sa kakaisip..

Ibinuka ko naman ang mata ko nung marinig ko ang boses ni Ate Lin na tumatawag saken kaya bumangon ako sa pagkakasandal sa bintana..

Nandito na ata kami sa bahay...

"Here's your things.."

Inabot nya saken yung mga gamit ko na kinuha nya sa backseat..

"Salamat po Ate.. t-tsaka.. sorry.."

Kakausapin ko naman talaga si Ivan.. "Oo naman po.."

It's really quiet.. It has been like this ever since Keiji left.

Umakyat ako patungong kwarto at agad na humiga sa kama..

I kept thinking about what I did back there..

Bakit ko pa kasi naisip si Keiji sa sitwasyon na yun?!

Di ko na naiwasang batukan ang sarili nung maisip ko yung ginawa ko.

Ibinaling ko nalang ang katawan sa ibang direksyon..

Nakita ko naman yung rilakkuma na teddy bear na nakapatong sa mini cabinet sa gilid ng kama ko..

Kinuha to ni Keiji para saken nung gumala kami kasama ni mama at tito clive..

Hanggang kailan kaya sya mananatili dun? Hanggang kailan ba sya babalik dito..?

Naiyukom ko nalang ang kamay ko nung makaramdam ako ng malakas na pagkabog ng dibdib nung maisip ko sya..

Sinaktan nya ako ng maraming beses, ginamit, at pinagmukhang tanga pero.. niligtas nya rin ako, inalagaan at pinagtanggol.. Kahit naiirita ako sa ugali nya hindi ko sya matiis.. at hindi ko sya magawang kamuhian, dahil na rin sa may kasalanan din ako sa lahat ng nangyari samin noon.

KAI SEOJOON'S POV

I can't help but frown in disbelief as I watch people setting up the gymnasium for the event that is about to happen later at night.

A farewell party for Keiji.

We had exchange students from Laketon University before but we never celebrated such useless event on their last day here.

I can only assume one thing..

"This must be Megan's doing." I whispered to myself.

"That's right, Lee!"

She suddenly hugged me from behind and rest her chin on my shoulders.

"Please, get off me, Megan."

She's always been touchy with people around her but I'm not comfortable being touched with someone I am not closed with.

Binitawan nya naman ako, I felt a relief when she did. It feels suffocating and uncomfortable.

"Why are you doing this, Megan? You're only giving us a hard time."

"Well we deserve a breather sometimes! Besides, you should thank me. Everyone is going to have fun at school atleast!"

I sighed. We haven't even finished all our examinations, we are supposed to study and prepare for it but what are we doing?

I rather go back home to study than attend this useless event, but Unfortunately, I can't do that.

"By the way, where's Keiji? I haven't seen him around.."

"How should-------"

Speaking of the devil...

Papunta sya ngayon sa direksyon ko and he's with Yeonhee..

I noticed the two of them always being together these days.. I haven't had enough free time because of how busy the office is these past few weeks..

Hindi pa sya nakalapit sakin ay binugad agad sya ni Megan at ipinalupot ang kamay neto sa braso ni Keiji..

He looks annoyed and forcefully took Megan's hands off from holding his arms.

My gaze went from the both of them to the girl that's walking together with him.

I waved at her and she smiled back...

It might be my imagination, but there is something in her smile that soothes me in a way..

I don't know what happened as there is still some distance between where I'm standing and Keiji's position but Megan walked away with an angered face.

Dun ko na sila nilapitan..

"Nerd, you told meiko where I'm staying." He said while crossing his arms.

I can't tell if he's mad, but his expression is somewhat calm?

"Cause she insisted but it looks like you're not mad about it?"

"Malamang, ginusto nya rin naman yun!" Yeonhee said.

Binatukan naman ito ni Keiji ng mahina..

"Totoo naman ah? Pakipot ka pa. You always said how you want to talk to her but you can't! You should thank Kai for doing you a favor!"

"Can't you just shut up?!"

They continued bickering in front of me, I can't do anything but stare at them..

I have no idea as to why I felt an unpleasant feeling with what I am seeing right now yet I can't say anything.

"By the way, I'm here to tell you that I'm not attending the event later. I'll go home straight."

"The event is made for you Keiji, Besides, I don't think I'm the right person you should tell that to."

"Shit, Who the hell set this event up anyway?! Dammit! I don't fcking need some kind of party!"

He frowned and crossed his arms, he looks so annoyed.

"Who else do you know that has the power to set up something like this?"

"S-si Megan Park.." Yeonhee murmured.

"I seriously don't know what's going on her head sometimes, she looks like she could think of any crazy stuff she might do with me at any moment."

"As long as she doesn't harm anyone, that's fine."

When I said that, I saw Keiji's expression change, It's like he's uneasy and anxious about something..

I want to ask him if there's something that is bothering him but I figured it would be best if he could say it to me himself, It might be a personal matter.

"Oo nga pala, nakita mo ba si Meiko, Kai..? Kanina pa namin sya hinahanap.." Yeonhee turned her gaze towards me and asked.

"I haven't, I'm often at the office these days.. and If I saw her, It's most likely just by accident.."

.. Hold on..

Are they together because they're trying to find Meiko?

"Keiji, why are you trying to find meiko? Aren't you trying to distance yourself from her?"

He sighed.. "S-seojoon, do you have a minute or two? I-I want to talk about something.."

Tinignan ko naman ang paligid, It looks like the set up is almost done..

"Sige.."

Keiji went to the seats and sat there, leaving me and Yeonhee behind..

He signal us to follow him but before I did, I glanced at Yeonhee and she was already staring at me..

"Tara.. May gustong pag usapan si Keiji, kanina pa yan hindi mapakali.." she smiled and went to where Keiji is sitting and sat beside him.

.. I have this feeling that she already know what Keiji wants to talk about..

I shrugged my thoughts away and followed them..

"What is it?"

He sighed before.. "Seojoon, We saw Meiko and Megan the other day talking at the cafeteria.."

Meiko and Megan?

.. How did they even know each other..?

"What about it..?" Hindi ko na ring maiwasang magtaka dahil sa sinabi nya.

"Listen, I-I don't know how they met but Seojoon, I don't feel good about this.. I have this feeling that woman is plotting crazy shit on Meiko.. I know what shit she's playing.. and I'll tell you she's fcking crazy... That's why, I'm trying to find her to make sure she's safe, but I can't find her anywhere.."

"It's lunch break, maybe she went somewhere with Ivan Chen.."

He gave me a death stare after I mentioned Ivan's name..

"Dammit.. this fcking nerd.." He murmured but I can hear him.

"Keiji.. how are you so sure that Megan is plotting something bad to Meiko? I've been with her in the SGA and I don't see anything wrong with her.. aside from being too clingy and regarding about that video, that was private but It's both your business and it was leaked, That was just a mistake."

"What?! Seojoon you don't fcking get it! S-she's not right in the head! I-I know it cause she-------"

He paused in the middle of saying something, na para bang meron syang hindi masabi saken.

"What?"

"Nevermind, If you don't believe me then so be it."

He immediately left after that... leaving me and Yeonhee behind.. again.

I don't know what's going on with Keiji and Megan that he can't say something to me about it, I only know that there's something happened between them..

If it's something that he can't tell me, I'm certain It wasn't just because he did it with Megan.. but It's something else..

I wonder what is it... that he can't tell me..?

I've always known Megan as someone who can separate her personal life from her duty at the SGA, She's always been good in terms of her work in the office, and I never once think ill of her cause I respect her dedication.

So why is Keiji telling me a different story...?

What really happened between them?

He seems so concerned that Meiko and Megan talked...

"Do you think he's being overreacting..?" I asked Yeonhee as I watch keiji walk out of the gymnasium..

"I'm sure he has his reasons..."

"You seem to have grown closer to Keiji while I'm not around.."

At that moment... I wanted to hit myself. Why did I say such thing?! Those choices of words are a bit strange!

"H-hindi naman.. wala lang syang ibang mapagsabihan sa mga problema nya. Nakakasawa na ngang marinig yung mga reklamo nya araw araw, pa ulit ulit nalang! Meiko dito Meiko doon! Kung hindi lang sana kayo magkaibigan-------"

"W-what..?"

I gave her a puzzled look when she mentioned my friendship with Keiji..

"W-wala..."

She tried to avoid my gaze... I noticed that her cheeks is getting red, It wasn't even hot cause the gymansium has bunch of aircons around.

Why are they both leaving me hanging? Cutting off their sentence like that. It will only make me curious even more.

"Kai.."

"Hmm..?" I answered when she called me..

"P-pupunta ka ba sa party mamaya..?"

"Yeah, I'll go, I need to patrol around to make sure everything goes well.. There might be students that will break the rules."

"Oo nga pala..."

It could have been my imagination, but I saw the disappointment on her face after hearing my response...

"Then... I'll come with you and help you watch over the area.."

I was stunned when she said that...

Am I hearing it correctly? She wants to go with me?

"Thank you, Yeonhee, but you don't have to, You should enjoy yourself later, It'll be boring if you come along with me.. I'll keep an eye on the students around, and I can't join in the fun."

"O-okay lang saken.." Nakayuko sya habang sinabi nya yun..

Is she serious..? I want her to enjoy the party with the rest of the students...

She smiled and nodded..

"Then.. don't blame me if you get bored.." It was a half joke but I really am worried if she gets bored and regrets her decision later..

"I will never get bored being around you.."

I glanced at her when she said that, and when I did, she gave me surprised look, like she can't believe what she just said..

"H-hindi.. A-ang ibig kong sabihin, bakit naman ako maboboring diba eh kasama kita! Mas boring kaya kung mag isa ka lang nakabantay tapos yung mga studyante sa paligid aliw na aliw!"

Hindi nya ako tinignan nung sinabi nya yun, parang iniiwasan nyang tignan ako sa mata..

"I-I see... Then.. I'll meet you at the gymansium entrance later.. I also need to look after Keiji and make sure he won't do anything bad on his last day here..."

Kumawala naman ako ng buntong hininga dahil sa nangyayari..

Hindi ko maintindihan..

Bakit.. kung umasta si Ivan ay parang wala man lang nangyari kahapon? Kinausap nya ako na parang hindi ko ginawa yun..

Diba dapat tanungin nya ako tungkol dun o kausapin man lang?

Naiyukom ko naman ang kamay ko nung maalala ko yung expresyon nya nun...

Oo nga pala, hindi ko alam pero nasuspend sya ng ilang weeks at kahapon lang sya bumalik..

"Wala akong oras sa mga kalokohan mo, shontelle."

Inalis ko naman ang kamay nya pero tumayo sya sa harapan ko na para bang hinaharangan nya yung locker ko.

"Nakalimutan mo na ba yung nangyari sa greenhouse ha?!"

"I didn't and why are you still furious about it? I was just about to do it with Keiji, you don't have to be mad at me because he's just your step brother right? It's not like you're his girlfriend or something.."

Napatahimik agad ako sa sinabi nya.. doon na rin pumasok sa isipan ko na tama naman sya pero may... nararamdaman na ako kay Keiji kaya nagalit at nasaktan ako sa nangyari.

Parang sumasakit ang ulo ko sa lakas ng sigaw nya at sa taas ng sinabi nya pero iisa lang ang nasa isip ko.. Kahit anong ginawa ni Megan sa kanya, hindi ko kayang gawin yung gusto nya!

"Shontelle, alam mo bang anak si Megan ng may ari ng skwelahan at ng principal natin? Kung gagawin man natin ang gusto mo, Sigurado ako na gagawa sya ng paraan para malaman kung sino ang gumawa nun at kapag nangyari yun... ano sa tingin mo ang mangyayari?"

Napabuntong hininga nalang ako nung tumahimik sya..

Pinaalis ko naman sya na nakatayo sa harap ng locker ko at sinarado yun..

Nakaabang si Ivan sa hallway nung marating ko na yung classroom namin..

"Anong oras kita susunduin mamaya? Alas otso pa naman magsisimula yung party.."

"K-kung kelan mo gusto.."

"Sige, seven forty nalang para pagkarating natin nagsimula na yung party.."

Tumango nalang ako.. at hindi na kumibo pa..

Bumabagabag pa rin kasi saken na parang wala lang sya dun sa nangyari..

Kung mababasa ko lang talaga yung anong nasa isip nya!

"Tara.." sabi nya sabay akbay saken..

Naglakad naman kami patungong parking lot, tahimik lang kaming dalawa hanggang sa makarating kami dun..

Pagkasakay namin ay agad nya namang pinaandar yung kotse at nagmaneho..

Eto na naman yung dibdib ko na bigla nalang kakabog ng malakas sa tuwing iniisip ko si Keiji..
