Petty jealousy takes over me

And late, curt texts,
I try not to let jealousy take over me,
But every so often it crawls up my throat.
And clings to my tongue,
So I bite it back.
And you think my silence is denial.
But I'm trying to calm my boiling blood.
Before I spit out profanities,
I try to force it down my throat.
