Chapter 97: Golfing Outing

Wednesday, February 16 – Daytona International Speedway

Ryan and Chase make their way out to the golf course, knowing it'd be the perfect fun activity in-between media day and qualifying. There was no sense in sitting around doing nothing when there was a golf course calling their name.

"Is Alex a little jealous that he's missing out?" Ryan questions, catching Chase's attention. He knew that it was meant to be a quick poke of fun, but he couldn't help but think back to their conversation yesterday.

"I'd rather not joke about that, please," Chase offers, to which caught Ryan by total disbelief. Their friendship was based on having fun together, joking a bit, and zings traded about a lot of things. He was waiting for Chase to fly something back at him.

"Is there something wron-"

"Absolutely not as Alex wouldn't do anything to hurt me." Chase bit his tongue as soon as he said it, knowing what it implied even if he didn't want to go there yet again. Sure, Ryan had crossed a line and hurt him. However, that a year ago now. It was time to move forward. Wasn't that why they had crossed other lines since then? "I didn't mean it how it came out."

"Are you sure about that? I know I hurt you. I told you that I regret that more than anything, but I thought we were past that..." Chase takes a deep breath, knowing he was making a mess very quickly. Maybe this was a bad idea.

"I meant it – I didn't mean to say it like I did. It just came out because I was immediately defending Alex, not wanting any questions about things there." Chase bit his tongue, knowing he wasn't one to share personal details, but Ryan was different obviously. This should be allowed, right? "You've gotten to know Alex these past several months. You can tell sometimes he can be a little awkward, say the wrong thing, get worried over the smallest thing. Even though he knows we're just having a simple golf game, nothing is going wrong here, it brought up some emotions in the conversation. He didn't want to fuck this up like he's done in the past with relationships. I offered comfort, assurance, and also said he's not the only one to scre-"

"We've all screwed up, myself the most of the trio here. but you didn't screw up with Kaitlyn if that's where you're going." Chase glances towards the ground, nodding his head, almost wanting to laugh a little.

"That's exactly what he said, too. I believe both of you..." He then looks back towards Ryan, allowing their gaze to lock together. "Considering the emotions there, feelings in wanting to ensure things are going to work out, be there, emotions, and our pasts combined, I'd just rather not joke about it. Alex means so much to me that it's one of those off the table matters, same as I don't pick on you for Isabelle."

"You're just lucky that she lets me come play as much as she does." Chase could only shake his head as he thought that over. He remembered when she left the first night it occurred at Ryan's place, but couldn't still get how she did so repeatedly.

"You must have a spell of some sort cast over that girl..." Ryan smirks in knowing it was fun to have his cake, and eat desert on the side as well. Somehow, he had managed to balance everything and get a bonus slice too.

"I see a smirk on Ryan's face – should I be worried that you're both up to something while I'm not here?" A voice chimes in as the pair look towards Bubba with a chuckle. It seemed every one of their friends thought they were screwing together. If only they knew the rest of the story.

"You're just pissed off that you're missing the fun," Ryan teases, to which Chase just about chokes on the sip of his energy drink he was having as he looks at Ryan with a daring glare. It wasn't like he wanted to go around sleeping with all their friends.

"Trust me when I say that I'm fine, but there's nothing wrong with swinging around together..." Ryan just winks over at Chase, who couldn't help but smirk to himself. It'd certainly be fun to see Ryan swinging naked as he tried to lick the popsicle in the process.

"Keep telling yourself that if helps you sleep at night..." Chase almost wanted to smack Ryan, knowing the comments and already gone far enough. However, the other side of him was chuckling at the glances Bubba was offering in return.

"Am I here to be a third-wheel to a relationship, or are we here to witness Chase suck like normal?" Chase lets out a sigh as he swings at the ball, watching it go totally the wrong direction than he had intended. Bubba may be joking a little, but his golf game was certainly nothing to write home about. "Maybe you should give him some personal lessons there, Ryan."

"You'd just love to watch that display of affection." Chase knew he wouldn't complain either, knowing it'd allow him to feel Ryan close to him, from hands on top of each others to bodies leaning against each other. Then again, that may be a bad idea as there wouldn't a lot of golf played.

"I'd also be wearing ear muffs later tonight in hearing the moans escaping the lips from personal lessons." Chase looks over with pure shock on his face, though wasn't surprised the other drivers hadn't heard them in the previous nights they'd been together. One thing was certain – a combination of him, Ryan, and Alex was never quiet.

The rest of the golf game went smoothly as the boys enjoyed laughs, most of them at Chase's expense as it seemed his golf game hadn't improved over the off-season.

It wasn't long before they were back at the track, standing on pit road, ready for qualifying.

"So did you have fun golfing?" Alex questions to which Chase nods his head as they walk down pit road together.

"I still suck for the record," Chase answers as Alex just chuckles.

"That's why I refuse to go because I'd probably be worse than you." Chase glances over, debating whether that'd be the truth or not. Perhaps it'd be fun to see and offer some tips back and forth in seeing what that could lead to.

"I think I still prefer spending those days in the shop with you over golfing." Alex smirks as it had certainly been fun having company in the shop over the past couple months, even if it meant less work was getting done each day than intended. It seems there was a distraction that was finding his way around to everything.

"I may have to let you take up the offer of taking the truck for a spin." Chase was surprised in hearing the comment, knowing that was a right of privilege nobody else had ever gotten with how much Alex cherishes his baby. He also knew he wouldn't take it lightly, ready to have some fun with the horsepower that it'd deliver.

"That's a tease right there if I've heard one..." Alex smiles, knowing that had certainly wet the taste buds. "Although I'd prefer to watch you drive me around town, and see if you could resist the charm."

"Resist the charm?" Chase's eyes go a darker shade as he keeps his eyes locked on his teammate, knowing there were many fun things they could do together.

"How about the blow job of your life?" Alex's jaw drops as he looks over, pure shock written over his face. "I told you that I like to have a lot of fun."

"Your little room said enough." Chase takes a deep breath, not wanting to think about that, or go back there. It just brought the image of Kaitlyn taking advantage once again to his mind. "You still owe me the perfect lesson as I do want to feel what it'd be like to have you inside of me."

"Name the day and place babes, because I can promise you that I want it badly." Alex couldn't help but smirk at the thought, though felt nerves at the same time. What if it happened, and it was too much? What if he screwed it up with his own bad reaction?

"I won't let you forget that..."
