"Boys hurry up we are going to be late!" I called out from the stairs, today was check up day at the hospital and none of my three boys liked it, they always tried to bribe me with anything just to get out of it because they would get vitamin shots, and it amused me just how much they hated it, my Dwayne had always had that dislike for hospitals or clinics and our children picked up on it, now they were a trio, trying to run away, out the the back of the house so we wouldn't go, I just shook my head with a chuckle, they thought they were smart, but I had already made sure they weren't sneaking out.
"It won't open." Khalil whined as he tried but failed to open the french double doors, I had changed the lock code, so try as they might, they weren't getting out. "Papa—wont open." Wayne joined in as he tried to open the door with his brother, it was amusing to hear, then I walked to where they were, fully dressed, ready to go yet still trying to escape, their father cooking up some lie to tell me and tease me with. "Hey sugarplum, lovely sun outside wanna get some family photos taken?" He skillfully suggests and I facepalm, I mean seriously. "The sun is always good outside." I replied squinting my eyes and looking at the two little heads trying to open the doors.
"Boys abort, we've been caught." Dwayne whispers to the boys who freeze, they dramatically turn with toothy smiles and pretend as if nothing was wrong. "Don't even try it." I state leaving no room for arguments. "Your coats by the rack, go get them and get in the car this instant." I ordered and they made a run for it, it was cute how even though they were trying to get away fome me, Wayne's hand had a strong grip on Khalil's, he never let go, as their little feet made little thuds on the floor. Chuckling lowly I turn to face my man who seems to have taken a new approach. "You know you're sexy when you get all commando like that, turns me on." He exclaimed pressing me to the wall, leaving a trail of kisses and bites down my throat to my nipple. "Juvita!" I moan just as my senses come back, this was a ploy.
"No I will not fall to your seductive ways, let's go." I order and he whines. "Yes keep walking those sexy legs." I add slapping his ass which he turns back to and narrows his eyes on me. "Be careful what you wish for honeybaby, you might just limp to the doctor's office." He calls out his threat, and somehow in the mix of it all, I liked it. "I might just like that." I retorted in a whisper and he stopped turning back to me. "No you horny man, we've got places to be." I protest but it was a bit too late, he grabbed my form and kissed the daylight out of me along with dipping me down then placing me back up, the kitchen was and everything else, spinning. "What just happened?" I mumbled and he wiggled his eyebrows. "We are going to the doctor." He offered and I finally came back to my senses. "Yea, the check up—." I whisper to myself walking toward the door adjoined with the garage.
His kisses will be the end of me.
We drove to the pack hospital without any more attempts to escape, what was going on now, was that the boys wanted to go to the amusement park after the check up, the incessant begging had now worn me down but not their other father, he was and still is headstrong plus I had a sense that he had planned something already. "Please papa, please—please— please —please." I couldn't take it anymore. "Babe please." I begged and he smirked. "They wore you down huh." He joked and I smacked his thigh. "I just want it to stop—." I whined and he chuckled deeply, he would never give in. "The doctor first, if you are good, then I will think about it?" He finally conceded and I sighed in relief, finally they let up.
"We are here." Dwayne announces and the boys unbuckle themselves from their car seats, I take Wayne and Khalil latches onto his papa, Wayne might be the more mischievous one but he was joined to my hip as was Khalil to Dwayne but both of us loved our children equally. Although I had conceived through Enzo, Dwayne had never treated them differently and at times it seemed as if he actually loved them more and did things more for them than I did, I was happy and glad he cherished our children but somehow I just felt as if I hadn't given him enough, I wanted to give him children that had his blood, I wanted children with him, I knew it didn't take love from my boys but its something I just wanted for both of us, it's why I had also scheduled this meeting with the doc, I needed to get get pregnant and give the man who had given me his whole life, more children.
We got in just as the doctor came out to greet us. "Babe I have something I need to discuss with doctor Parker, can you go through with the boys?" I asked my mate who nodded with a smile and followed the pediatrician. I took a different route to the gynaecology ward where the doctor I wanted to see was. "Carter what a pleasant surprise." He addressed and indeed it was, she was always good to me. "It is indeed, and before the gossip, let me jump straight into it, doc I wanna get pregnant again." I told her and the big grin on her face made me relax. After a couple of tests, several injections, I was finally getting the verdict of it all. "Fear not Carter you're perfectly healthy, and I'm sure if you keep trying, soon enough you'll get pregnant, I can only recommend boosters to help you with the process but its all in the trying." She explained in a way I understood, I just need to keep trying and if I'm lucky, soon I will be growing fat again.
"Thank you doctor, now spill me the tea, I see Gloria isn't around." I stated and she leaned in. "Her entitled millennial ass got fired last week, she got caught stealing drugs and selling them on the black market." Parker replied shocking me. "No way, I bet she couldn't get enough and kept taking till she got caught." I replied and Parker shook her head in refusal. "The other attending doctor in this ward was helping her, she would make him feel young again and he overlooked her dirty deals." Parker explained and my jaw dropped. "That was low, I thought she came from money." I responded truly surprised by the nurses's behavior. "The pennies and dimes her family scraped to get her here, she acted way too classy for her own good and the city chewed her up." Parker expresses and I felt pity for Gloria, I guess we all couldn't be sensible and look for help the right way, working at the pack hospital would've opened up opportunities for her that would've led to a better life, I hoped she was doing better where she was.
I caught up some more with hospital gossip from Parker until it was time to get to my family, they were almost if not done already, and as I anticipated they were done. "Let me guess, you were having one of those chats with Parker." He asserts and I try not to look so guilty but he could tell and I broke. "Yes, I was, I hadn't seen her in so long, we had to catch up plus babe, you won't believe what Toni's niece did " I blurted it all out and he just heavily sighed. "Hit me." He responded and I went right for it and told him everything, in the end we were giggling like school girls by the car. Nothing like a bit of gossip with your man to just make your day.
We drove due east, the opposite direction of where the amusement park was, I didn't ask where we were going, I wasn't going to ruin the surprise. "Remember the day we met?" He asked and I nodded. It was two days ahead, making it our sixth year anniversary all together, I was planning on doing something lowkey yet beautiful for my mate. "I do." I replied as we got out of the car, we met at a struggling aquarium, he was there to assess the risk of keeping it open and the water calmed me, something was different about the whole place, I admittedly hadn't been there in a long while, so I knew a lot was different, Dwayne whistled loudly, the kids trying to imitate him but only ended up slurping on air.
"Look up." I heard him say as the light shone on the sign. "Calico's." I whisper looking at the renovated building. "Happy early anniversary my love, I wanted to preserve the memory of when we met." He explained as my eyes burned with salty tears. "You didn't —." I sniffle. "You didn't have to, just having you and the boys, is enough for me." I explain more tears spilling from my eyes. "I know, but the day I met you, my life completely changed, I found a reason to live, to breathe and to love, you became my everything and for our forever you'll still be the one for me, its why I wanted to preserve this memory, because without you, I'd be a shell of a man, working myself to death, unappreciated and with nothing as a legacy, Im always grateful each day, you're in it, youre in my life, our boys, our children, I have it all, and I would die if I lost it, so each day, I strive for it, I love you and the beautiful kids you gave me and will give me cherry blossom, always, even after we die, my forever is right next to you." He finally concluded as more tears split from my eyes, damn him.
"You know I don't have a proclamation, Im just living proof that you love me, you brought me out of my shell, pieced me back together and loved me, that's why I'm in love with you, because no other man could love me the way you do, never, not in this life or any life, you're my forever too." I reply pulling him in for a kiss which just shows how much we love each other, how much I loved him and would die for him. As we part the boys are playing some random game. "Boys, wanna look inside the aquarium, there is an arcade inside plus a huge restaurant." Dwayne offers and they take off toward the entrance. "Shall we go see your newest endeavor my chocolate lover?" He asks and I indulge him hooking my arm around his. "Yes, do show me." I accept as he tickles me.
"This is where our love began, wanna the see the spot I bumped into you accidentally?" It was never an accident. "What accident papi, you know you did it on purpose." I retort. "Maybe, just maybe baby." At this point I was frustrated. "There is no winning with you, is there?" I argue. "Nope."
