It had been 3 weeks since the showdown at the insurance company involving Deja. And although August and I were technically taking a break at my request, I down right missed him.
"So you gonna be gone all summer?" I asked Anika as she loaded up her last bag into her car.
"Yeah. We're Finna be having crusades throughout Georgia. I'm excited to help to tell u the truth," she smiled as she said. Anika and her boyfriend would be gone all summer on Church Missionary duties.
I returned the smile. "I'm happy as long as u happy...and maybe this church lifestyle is good for your ass after all" I joked as she rolled her eyes at me
"Whatever girl. Just be sure to call me and give me da tea on whatever's goin on around here. You know I was always on top of my gossip..." She warned me
I chuckled, " byeee anika. Have fun!" I said before she hugged me and jumped into her car
The semester had ended but I would be doing summers, so would still be on campus. I didn't really need to but I needed something to keep my mind occupied from August.
"Alright...you on your own now Ms Romain," I said to myself before heading back to my dorm room.

Two days later
August PoV
"Nigga our shit be blowin' up!" I heard Lloyd say as I kicked ma feet up on da sofa at da studio.
He came over wit his laptop showing me da thousands of views our Sucka video had on YouTube.
"You do know I brought 75% of these views right?" He joked as I side eyed him
"Fuck outta here nigga," I said to him before we both began laughin.
"Yung," I heard ma manager's voice interrupt us befo I turned to look at him.
"I just got off da phone with Def Jam...and they're pretty damn interested in you," Noonie said with a smile
I raised an eyebrow, " how interested?"
"Interested enough that dey offered us the best deal out of the labels that been calling," he said as he explained
A smile spread across ma face, " shit does sound good"
"So whatchu sayin'?" He asked
I thought for a second, "I'm sayin I think we should go with Def Jam"
He nodded as Lloyd and the others all agreed as well.
"Aight. Let me call back they rep and let em know" he said befo exiting the room to call.

One day later
"Okay Mr Alsina, we just need your signature here and here," the rep from Def Jam said to me.
I took da pen out her hand and signed where she had instructed a nigga to.
She gave me a soft smile, " perfect. So that's your binding agreement. We'll schedule a meeting at our headquarters in New York for you so keep that busy schedule flexible will you?"
I smiled back at her as I nodded.
"Welcome to Def Jam Recordings," she said standing up and stretchin' her hand out
I took it and shook, " thank ya"
"You did it nigga!" Sean said givin me dap
"Yeah. We only half way thea but I'm grateful," I said to him
"Congrats lil bro," Lloyd said ta me
I stood thea processing everything and da first person I wanted to call was....Eva.
"You should just call her Yung," Chile came up to me knowin exactly what was on ma mind.
"Ion know...she the one who wanted space," I said as I leaned onto da edge of the table
"And you done gave her that..." he smiled.
"Now this a cause for celebration, and you ain't gonna be happy til you talk to her anyway"
I nodded in agreement knowin he was right.
"Aight man, " I said as he gave me dap and left da room

Eva PoV
I sat drinking my Margarita at the Escape Bar. Fitting name for what I was tryin to do, I thought to myself ironically.
"Excuse me is this seat taken?" A tall caramel skinned boy asked me.
"No," I said before taking another sip of my drink.
"Good. That means you're here alone. So I might actually have a chance," he smiled at me as he got comfortable on the bar stool
I rolled my eyes a little to myself. I really wasn't up for none of this.
"Chance for?" I asked with my eyebrow slightly raised
"Chance to get your number. A chance to get to take you out. A chance to get to know you?" He said still smiling
"I'm sorry. You seem like a sweet guy but, I'm not looking to do any of that" I said as politely as I could
He chuckled, " the pretty girls are always harder to get. What's your name pretty girl?"
I placed my drink down as I sighed already growing exhausted.
"It's Eva. But as I was saying...this" I motioned between the two of us, " isn't going anywhere. So you really shouldn't even waste your time"
"And why can't this go anywhere again?" He questioned
"Because I have a boyfr-" I paused before finishing the word. Was August even still my boyfriend? I asked
"A boyfree? You don't seem to confident I. Your words Eva," he chuckled a little
"nah you must not be listening clearly, " I heard his voice from behind as I smiled, knowing it was August.
The stranger swiveled in seat as he turned to look at August.
"I'm da boyfriend....now do ya mind, if I sat next to ma girl?" August said straight faced.
"Well she did tell me this seat wasn't taken," he said shrugging
"But she is, so how bout you go try those weak ass lines else wea' " August finished off
I snickered at him dissing the guy. The fella stood up and left at that.
"Hey," I said as he sat down and looked at me
"How ya been?" He asked as he kept gazing.
I nodded, "I been ok. What brings you down here?" I asked wondering if he had run into me by chance, but hoping it wasn't just that
"Well...I actually tryna get a hold of you. I realised it's Saturday night, and you Most likely couldn't hear ya phone since you always come down to this place." He explained as the bar tender came up to him
August ordered a drink as I sat and smiled at him.
"So you were lookin for me eh?" I said
He smiled back, " yeah. I wanted to tell you the good news first"
I awaited what he had to say, wondering what was so important
"Today I inked a 5 year deal with Def Jam," he said as I could see the joy spread across his face
My eyes widened, "Oh my god! August that's great! Congratulations!"

August PoV
Eva hopped out of her bar stool and into a nigga, hugging me as she said congrats.
I laughed a little, " thanks"
"And thank you for coming all this way just to tell me in person," she said holdin my hands in hers.
"I wanted to...you been rockin with me all this time, and even though we on this break shit...I really do miss you Eva." I admitted
She looked deeply into my eyes, " I miss you too"
"Sooo...can we un- break now? I got all these damn snacks at ma crib and nobody to eat em" I joked causing her to laugh
She leaned in and kissed me. "There" she said.

Eva PoV
August and I were walking back to his ride when I looked up at him.
"I know that look.....what's on your mind?" I asked him
He stopped walking as he continued thinking.
"Mel and I always said we would get these self made tattoos together. He always believed in me even when I didn't believe in ma own self, and now that I got signed...I finally see what he meant" Aug explained
I stood directly in front him, " then you should do it"
He focused on me.
"You are self made August, now it's time to show the world that" I looked up at him and said.
He gave way to a smile.
"To the shop?" I asked him, referring to the tattoo shop that already held so many memories for us.

I looked on as Charity finished up the second side burn tattoo for August.
"How's it lookin?" He questioned me
"It looks......perfect" I said to him as he took my hand and caressed it.
I was extremely happy not only to be back on good terms with August, but for the new doors that were about to open for him and his music. However I knew that things were about to change from now on.....I just hoped our love and ourselves wouldnt.....
