Louie
My eyes fluttered open and I sat up in bed. How did I even get in bed? What happened yesterday? I slid out of bed and felt a little funny. I went into my bathroom and froze. I stared at the girl in the mirror and not recognizing her. I screamed and fell moved away form the mirror. It cracked with my high pitched scream and shattered. I fell to the floor and shielded my face.
"Louie!" I heard Nate yell.
In seconds, he came into the bathroom and pulled me out. He backed up and sat in the bed, with me in his lap.
"Shh, It's okay, calm down." He said smoothing down my hair.
"D-did I just...do t-that?" I stuttered
He nodded his head.
"H-how...and why do I l-look different?" I asked looking up at him.
"Do you remember what happened the last time you were awake?" He asked slowly.
I thought for a moment and shook my head.
"You let Jared turn you." He said.
Those words alone released all the memories that had been temporarily forgotten.The fight with Damon. Damon.
"Damon...is he-"
"Louie, it was an accident-"
I pushed out of his arms and looked at him.
"I...I killed him..."
Tears began to pour down my cheeks and pain flooded my whole body. I sank to the ground and cried. Nate sat down and pulled me back into my lap. He rocked me back and forth as I cried into his shoulder.
"Shh Louie. I'ts going to be okay. Most of the drama with his death, has come and gone."
"What do you mean?" I asked through a sob
"Louie, you've been asleep for at least two days."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, his mom told me that with your new abilities, and the energy you used that night exhausted you."
I sighed. "She must hate me..."
"No, Louie, she understands. And she tried to warn him when he left her house that day, that one of us might get hurt."
"But he's not just hurt, Nate. He's dead!" I cried.
He remained silent for a few minutes before speaking again.
"Jared came by."
"What? How?"
"He knew you were hurt and wanted to make sure you were all right." He paused. "Louie, I'm letting him take you for a little while."
"What?!" I screamed and looked at him.
"He can help you control your new strength and abilities." He said.
"You have no right, Nathaniel!" I screamed and got out of his lap.
I was angry again and felt my mind waver. I glared at Nate and watched as he started to look like he was in pain. He yelled out in pain and collapsed onto the ground.
"Lo...louie...please....st-stop..." He gasped out.
"No." A dark voice with in me said.
He screamed out in pain and I knew the pain had intensified. I felt a rush of air and a pair of arms grabbed me and pulled me away from Nate, breaking my concentration.
"Calm down." A voice commanded.
I immediately did and melted into the strong arms. I could hear Nate gasp for air and felt him relax. I started crying again.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry. Nate-"
"It-its okay Lou, I'm alright." He said.
Jared pulled away and let me see Nate. He looked tired and worn. His body was tense and rigid.
"Lou, it's okay. You're just under pressure and I understand. Go with Jared. Then come back to me." He said with a sad smile.
I escaped Jared's hold and hugged Nate. "I love you. I'll miss you."
