"My sisters say I stink like an omega, what do they mean by that dad?" Little Aeric raised his eyes at Jin, who was sitting on the boy's bed waiting for his youngest child to go to sleep.
"Because you are an omega," Jin sighed caressing a few dark strings off his son's forehead.
"But dad, I want to be an alpha," Aeric's eyes filled with tears.
"Listen to me it doesn't matter who you are, alpha, beta or omega."
"But omegas are the weakest," the boy punched the duvet with his fist.
"No, they aren't. Actually they are the strongest," muttered Jin when some glitters of hope lit up his baby's face. "Do you remember uncle Jimin. He is the bravest and most powerful man I have ever met in my life, he's an omega but no one would ever call him weak. He is brewing the most fascinating medications or poisons, teaches material arts, has fought endless battles and was the reason why an ancient beast disappeared. If you will be an omega like him one day, no one will dear to call you weak."
Aeric nodded squeezing Jin's palm.
"Now take a rest. I love you," Jim leaned in to kiss his son's forehead.
"Love you too dad," the boy closed his eyes cuddling to his plush mouse yawning loudly.
Soon the bedroom was filled with his steady breathing when Jin was watching him for a while trying to calm down those racing thoughts. He hasn't seen Jimin since last summer, maybe it was time for him and Hobi to visit his best friend again.
Maybe I should call him, he wondered getting up to quietly leave the bedroom and enter the long palace corridor. This huge luxurious place has become his home like none has ever been before, all because of the love of his life, his husband, his mate. Jin's heartbeat raising uncontrollably as he was on his way to their bedroom to fall into Hobi's beloved arms.
The lamps above him flickered, so he stopped catching a scent filling the corridor lifting all hair on his body, because it couldn't be.
"Guards!" Jin raised his voice but red eyes lit up right in front of him, a second later his cry died in his throat when everything turned into darkness.
"Teacher Park? Aren't you going home?" Tanja had all her training clothes wrapped up, the wooden sword still tugged to her belt when she entered the now dim practice room at the top floor of the mating school. Yesterday she had been called in by the principal who has told her about marriage arrangements being sent out for her to royal families, as her parents had started to look for an alpha for her. Tanja's heart still in uproar of pain, because she could never accept that plan, so she was willing to talk to teacher Park and ask him if he could arrange an exam for her. If she will pass and become a Sinas soldier her future was safe. No one will ever force her into marriage.
"Teacher Park may I speak to you... um... are you ok?" Tanja slipped through the door to see her beloved teacher lifting a tears wet face at her.
He had been absent minded during the training today.
"What happened?"
"Ah!" Teacher Park gave out a sigh tapping the place on the steps he was sitting at.
The sword of his grandfather resting in front of him.
"What happened? Can I help?" She was just a little girl and Jimin was a grown up man, but she was willing to support him anyway, as he was the first person who has given her hope into her dream.
"I'm so stupid and weak," Jimin hit his thigh with his closed fists.
"Teacher Park!"
"Tanja go home."
"Please... how can I help?"
"You can't. No one can help me," Jimin hid his face in his hands new tears coming so Tanja was sitting beside him all quietly.
She didn't know much about life but she was feeling he needed someone to be here.
"Look," Jimin suddenly changed position taking some crumbled papers out of his pocket she took hesitantly unfolding on her lap, her heartbeat raising as those were some ultrasound scans her eyes blurring out while reading over them.
"Teacher Park, you... you're pregnant, wow. I mean, you and Jungkook will have a baby."
"Give that back," Jimin took the papers from her crumbling them more throwing through the room.
"Why? Aren't you happy?"
"This is a disaster. What will happen to me now? Look at me! Without my lessons, my strength I am nothing," Jimin's jaw was trembling.
"Teacher Park, it's just a few months, then you will return to teaching us. There are worse things..." Tanja blushed.
"Like what?"
"Like your parents sending out marriage arrangements for you, like if you some horse in a race to bet on."
"We're both fucked up," Jimin smiled bitterly. "I had that creepy feeling for a few weeks now so today I finally put my courage together and went to the doctor, who confirmed..."
"You will be ok teacher Park, Jungkook loves you a lot. Will you tell him?"
"No. Definitely not yet. I don't want him to go crazy in his protective alpha mood. I will not tell him. At least not now," Jimin bit his lip but new tears were rolling over his face.
"I think he should know," Tanja sighed getting up. "I hope you will be ok teacher Park."
"Tanja. Please keep it a secret, just between us," Jimin raised his voice behind her.
"Ok," she nodded slipping to the door.
"And Tanja, I think you're ready so I have arranged an exam for you in a week," Jimin's eyes were serious when she squealed running back to hug him tightly.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you teacher Park, you're rescuing my life."
"Do something for me, kick their asses, be the first omega who makes it."
Their eyes met and Tanja could read it all from Jimin's broken ones.
"Don't worry teacher Park, I will make you proud," she assured then thanked again leaving the room quietly, her insides dancing as this has been the best news ever. She will take her exam. That was such a honor in the first place.
The air outside chilly so she pulled her jacket tightly over herself sprinting towards the Mating School dormitory building, analyzing it over and over again, she will take the exam, teacher Park was pregnant, the last thought so strange as she really couldn't imagine him in that state. The proud independent man he was, Jimin will have a very difficult time accepting it, but she hoped in the end he will be able to love his baby together with Jungkook.
Will Jimin even tell his husband, probably not.
Something moved, like a shadow along roof walls so Tanja stopped looking up to find it all peaceful, cold goosebumps appearing on her skin. There was a howl when a horrid shape jumped out of the darkness right at her. A huge wolf with burning red eyes so she fled into an alley running as fast as she could. That awful monster chasing her in and she reached for the wooden sword stopping to swing it in the air. Like teacher Park has taught her, she was counting in her head watching that beast running at her with its slime dripping snout open. Now, she closed her eyes aiming at it, the sword colliding with that monstrous head and there was a crack when both broke in half. Disgusting black blood splashed over her, the pieces of the sword sill trembling in her palm, but new sounds came and she looked up to see there were dozens of those creatures surrounding her from the building roofs. Tanja's heart falling when someone clapped, red eyes lit up in the darkness of the alley and she saw a young tall man dressed in all black nearing her with an awful grin plastered on his face.
"Who are you?" Tanja lifted the sharp edge of the broken sword.
"I haven't properly introduced myself," the man took a white tissue out of his pocket nearing step by step, a second later he snapped his fingers when the monsters jumped off the roofs falling at her.
