Rivers pov
So we're on our way home from filming a video...at 1am. We decided to start posting together because we haven't yet and they needed a Friday video. We've only done one stream. I'm glad we waited though, a lot of people who do what we do use people for views. I'm glad we became actual friends before we start posting together, especially because people talk a lot of shit.
Jordan sat in the front seat because Chris still had some small cuts on his face. Matt is driving and Nick, Chris, and I are in the back. They decided to put me in the middle because it couldn't be Chris and Nick doesn't like how small the seat is when other people are in the back.
"Chris you've gotta put yourself back out there." Matt says.
"What?" He's spaced out a little after we finished the video. His social battery is low, I can tell, mine too.
"What do you mean what?" Matt looking at him through the rear view mirror.
"Sorry I spaced out, I have no idea what we're talking about."
"Like you need to get back on your feet and meet some new people. I know your last break up was rough but seriously, it's been like six months. He looks over at Jordan, "And it feels good talking to someone new."
"Woah there tiger, she's still mine." I say chiming in.
"Mhm." Matt hums out with a smirk.
"Hey!" I say looking at him pretending to be mad.
I remember Chris telling me that Matt and Nick know nothing about what actually made them break up. Nick is just sitting there drinking his drink like he's watching a movie.
Chris shakes his head and looks back out the window. It's dark out so I can see his reflection through the window, he just looks really upset, not in an angry way though. I'm sure there's more to the break up then he told me.
I put my leg over his knee. I don't know if it was the best thing for me to do but I just wanted to comfort him. I get how he's feeling. I hate when people say I should move on when I'm not ready, people just don't get that.
He looks at me through the window and gives me a small smile. I feel for him.
"What about you, River?" Nick asks
"What about me, Nick?" I ask looking away from Chris and to him.
"Are you gonna put yourself back out there?"
I look up to think, "Umm I don't know, probably not."
"Why? You could get anyone you wanted." He says as his eyes dart down to my leg on top of Chris'.
I give him the eyes for him to not mention it. "Nah, clearly not." I say shrugging.
He understood the look real quick and carried on with the conversation, "What do you mean?"
"If I could, I'd be dating frat boy Harry Styles."
"What's frat boy Harry Styles?" Matt asks confused.
I laugh and so does Jordan, "Don't worry about it."
"No but seriously you should get back out there too." Matt adds. Why is he all up in my business now?
"I think I just wanna chill with relationships for a while."
"Makes sense." Nick says.

We make it back to their house and Chris starts heading to his room. Nick, Matt, and Jordan start going into Nicks room and I'm just left torn on where to go.
I start following Jordan, "Where are you going?" Chris asks.
"Nicks room." I say pointing towards the rest of them who already disappeared into his room.
"Why?"
"I don't know, I thought you wanted space, we just filmed and it's been a long day." I say shrugging. Honestly I just don't want to get in his way if he's not in the mood to socialize.
"Shouldn't you know this by now? Come with me." He says as he turns around into his room.
I try to hide my smile but it doesn't work. Luckily he's not looking at my face right now.
He's already laying down on his bed so I lay down next to him. He puts the blankets over me and him and then started scrolling through episodes of Black Mirror on his TV. "I thought you didn't like Black Mirror, thought it was too confusing?" I say confused on why he's putting on a show he doesn't like.
"I don't but you do." Is all he says. I smile to myself as he's still focused on the TV. "Is this one good?"
"Is that even a question? All of them are good."
He clicks on it and lays back against the wall.
About halfway through the episode my phone buzzes for what feels like a million times. I sit up and start looking for my phone that's trapped in the bedsheets. Chris ends up finding it for me. "Who is it?" I ask.
"Texts from Noah and your mom and then a snap from Jordan."
"Oh god." I say as Chris hands me my phone.

i told mom you slept over at jordan's
good luck
thanks i'm gonna need it
Mom
feeling better i see
you're going to school tomorrow
ok yeah i will
goodnight
I then open Jordan's snap. It's a picture of her and Matt that says 'are you guys awake?'
I told Chris to give a thumbs up so I can reply. 'yes'
Next thing I know, Jordan and Matt walk through the door. "Where's Nick?" I ask.
"Sleeping." Matt says.
"Are we going to school tomorrow?" Jordan asks looking miserable at the thought of school.
I scoff, "No."
"Good." Jordan says plopping onto the bed. "What have you guys been doing?"
I point up to the TV, "Watching Black Mirror, you?"
"Not much, we decided to come bother you as always."
Matt sits down on the couch behind Chris' bed. "Chris I haven't seen you like all day, where have you been?"
"Rivers house."
"Like all day?" He asks.
"Yep." His responses are so short, maybe he just doesn't feel like talking right now.
"What did you guys do for so long?"
I take over, "We smoked and then just laid in bed."
"Speaking of smoke, do you guys wanna go out to the backyard with me and J?" Matt asks.
I smile at the fact that he's already calling her J. Mixed emotions though, I'm the only one who calls her that. "Nah, I'm tired and probably gonna fall asleep soon, seems like a waste."
"Ok, well we're going." Jordan says getting up from the bed.
"Light on or off?" Matt asks.
"Off." Chris says.
It's now just me and Chris again. He unpauses the show but he seems off. I'm not focused on the show, I'm focused on him. I can tell so many things are going through his head right now. I just don't know what to do to get him to stop thinking about whatever has got him feeling upset.
I move my arm behind his back as a gesture for him to get closer. He lays his head down on my shoulder and I bring my hand up to his head and start running my fingers through his hair. I notice his eyes starting to close as he's fighting the urge to fall asleep. After a few minutes I can feel his body start to relax.
