Backstory: His mother, a soul reaper, and his father, a human, fell in love with each other. After spending a long time in the world of the living the Soul Society began questioning what was going on and upon discovering her relationship, and the fact she was now pregnant with a child, they gave her the option to raise them in the Soul Society and leave her lover, or be exiled. She chose exile and raised her son, Katsu.
