ajax softly opened his eyes, feeling warm blanket on his shoulders. sun was peeking through the window, warmth on his cheeks.
he sat up straight and wiped his face with his hands, trying to remember what happened. it was a dream...?
"HOLY MOTHER OF SWEET BABY JE– oh."
no, it wasn't.
ajax swallowed and stood up, throwing the blanket on his shoulders. beautiful smell of pancakes (or maybe waffles?) filled his nostrils.
he left his room and saw minerva the second she tried to catch a bowl. she managed and a loud sigh of relief left her mouth.
then she turned around and poured some of the substance that was in the bowl on a pan. then she quickly turned off the kettle and made tea in two cups.
how does he approach her? he doesn't want to scare her but on the other hand...
"HOLY MACARONI– AJAX!"
he looked up and his eyes met hers, green pools of joy.
"you scared me! good morning! i hope you slept well and i didn't disturb you. also i hope you don't mind but i made some breakfast? i woke up and i just couldn't..." minerva explained, playing with her fingers.
"it's okay" google translator spoke up.
minerva's face literally went ":D"
"okay, so! here, i made you some tea. here you have the pancakes and some toppings i found. that's a shame you don't have peanut butter though but that's okay! now, eat!" she said and placed a steaming cup in front of him and came back to the pan, where a pancake was almost burnt.
ajax quickly turned around and rushed to bathroom, to take out a jar of peanut butter from his bathtub. he remembered his one conversation with dagger about this.
when he came back and sat down, placing the jar next to his plate. he looked at minerva, running around kitchen like a busy bee.
could it be? sure, they have familiar voices but minerva's sounded... a bit different. the way she was speaking was full of joy, excitement but her voice tone alone was cold, a bit monotonic. dagger's voice, on the other hand, was monotonic. you could hear if she was happy but it was more... dull?
right, some people can have similar voices. maybe that's the case. but only way to find out is to make her scream.
"is the tea too hot? your ears are as red as fucking tomato" minerva started laughing and sat in front of him. he just nodded, continuing his thoughts.
no, not scream like that. like dream was known for his kettle wheeze, dagger was known for her r2d2 scream. either it was a jumpscare or she was yelling because she fell (in minecraft of course, which happened a lot). he just has to scare her somehow...
"bone apple teeth, i hope you won't die" minerva nodded and started eating. he just shrugged, as in i dont care as far as its tasty.
and holy shit, it tasted like heaven.
after breakfast in comfortable atmosphere, minerva insisted to clean up while he changed onto fresh clothes.
"okay, now!" she softly clapped her hands once and looked at him with care "i need to go because the bed is gonna be here soon! but let me know if you need anything, alright? i can go and buy it for you or if you just want me to come over, text me. immediately. understood?"
he nodded and grinned.
"i hope you're feeling better now. personally after... well after panic attacks what helps me a lot are naps. so maybe you should take a short nap under a warm blanket, yknow? to relax?" she sounded genuinely worried
"i'm alright now, minerva. thank you a shit ton, i don't know what would have happened if you weren't there. and thank you for the pancakes, it was delicious" google said and then... "text me when the bed is here, maybe i'll take a test nap on it"
minerva giggled and nodded

when ajax noticed the delivery company guys disappeared downstairs, he locked up his door and rushed upstairs.
door to minerva's place were open wide so he knocked some silly rhythm on them.
"come in!" she hummed from her bedroom. ajax shook his head with soft smile and took off his shoes, then closed the door.
minerva appeared in the doorway, her short brown hair tied up in a small ponytail.
"oh hello! the bed is here, i'm still fixing the pillows and stuff but come in" she said and disappeared again.
he followed her and saw her bedroom. it slightly changed since he last time took a glance at it but it was still pretty.
"you can sit down but look out after cornelius" she warned and pointed at the furry animal sitting on the bed.
ajax chuckled and sat down next to it, gently petting its small head.
"here and there... and ready" minerva cooed while putting two last plushies down: my melody and kuromi. "what do you think?"
he rose his thumb up with an approving nod.
"that's great! honestly i'm sleepy, i haven't slept much last night... and the night before. so i'm glad i can finally rest. you should get a bed too!" minerva shook her head and when ajax grabbed his phone to write something, she put back cornelius to his cage.
she plopped down next to him, rubbing her eye and reading what he wrote.
take a nap then. i can accompany you if you feel comfortable enough. besides we need to check if two people fit on this bed ;)
she smacked his arm and turned around to hide her blush.
"fine, whatever. i nap with my friends all the time! but be aware that i'm a cuddler" minerva sent him a playful smile.

so she laid down, facing the wall. ajax noticed how she grabbed kuromi plushie and held it close to her chest.
his heart was beating like crazy. why did he even say that? why–?
"what are you waiting for, pussy? come here already i wanna sleep!" she whined and turned around. his face shifted and smile curled up to a mischievous smirk.
moments after they were laying together, minerva being the small spoon. they did fit on the bed, there was enough space for both of them to lay down normally back to back.
but they both preferred it that way.
minerva fell asleep quickly, feeling comfort. kind of comfort she hasn't felt in years. and that's when she realised (but soon enough she forgot because of how tired she was) that's she's falling in love.
