Back story-
Vanya Melissa Mckinnon daughter of Marlene McKinnon. She doesn't know who her father is. Turns out one night Marlene Mckinnon her mother was in the muggle world visiting her best friend Lily and James Potter as Lily was one month pregnant. Before returning home she went to a club. Got drunk and things happened between her and some muggle guy.
month later Marlene found out she was pregnant. She didn't know how to tell her family and friends. Marlene has always been cheerful and she has a different yet fantastic personality. She is the light of the party. Marlene decides to tell her best friend.
"Lily" Marlene's voice was low "can I tell you something" Lily closed her book and gave full attention to her best friend. Marlene has been very quiet lately "a month ago when I came to visit you I went to a muggle club. I got drunk and....made out with someone" Marlene explained
"nothing new Lena" Lily chuckle "it is...I...I'm....pregnant" Marlene busted out "You are WHAT?" Lily gasped
"pregnant" Marlene whispered "with whom did you..?" Lily asked. A bit of hint in her mind
"I have no idea" Lily opened her mouth but closed it "Don't give me that face. It was a mistake" Marlene shouted
"Lena..." Lily wrapped her arms around Marlene "I'm here for you" she whispered
Days later-
"I think you should tell others" Lily started "I want to Lily. But how?" Marlene asked
"just say it. that's what you always do" she nodded and walked out
James, Sirius, Remus and Peter were on the couch talking.
"Guys, Lena wants to tell you something" Lily shouted and they looked at Marlene
"are you going to spill some tea?" Sirius asked
"No I--" James cut her off "Or you have a new prank idea" He said excitedly
"no Jamie I'm--"
she was again cut off by Remus.
Marlene look at them angrily "I'M PREGNANT" She shouted and they all looked at her shocked.
"WHAT!"
"no WAYYYYY"
"I'm GONNA BE AN UNCLE"
"CONGRATULATIONS"
"WHEN'S THE MARRIAGE?"
"I hope your child has a different gender from mine. THEN THEY COULD BE TOGETHER" James said
"Hey! What's wrong with same gender?"
Gasped "you're correct Padfoot. They can be fruity together"
"I WANT TO BE HIS OR HER GODFATHER"
"Or They"
They all were talking at the same time
"SHUT IT" Marlene shouted
"wait who's the father?" Remus asked. Marlene looked at Lily for help
"No! don't tell me you made out with a stranger" Sirius shouted
"how did you know?" Lily asked
"YOU DID!!" Sirius gasped
"can we just cut it" Marlene mumbled
"alright. But I still want to the godfather" James added
(January-11-1981 at Marlene's house)
[Vanya's last name is Mackinnon because Marlene doesn't know the guy she hooked up with)
"Sweetheart look, Uncle James here" Marlene was holding little Vanya
"Ane your favourite uncle brought you a gift cause today you're four months old," James told little Vanya who was busy looking at her new doll that James brought
"Favourite uncle? Padfoot and Moony will have a duel with you right now" Marlene told James who laughed
James and Marlene are like siblings. From the first year, they had a sibling bond. Lily was her best friend more like sisters. Sirius and Remus are her guy best friend who doesn't care if your a girl or not. Peter....will Marlene and Peter are ok they talk but they're not close. Lastly, Dorcas Meadows was Marlene and Lily's best friend and she was Marlene's girlfriend who died in the first wizarding war.
(March-28-1981 at Potter's house)
Vanya and Harry were playing with their toys.
"Aw look at them," Lily said in aw
"They are adorable" Marlene added
"15 Galleons they will end up together," Sirius said
"Deal" Remus and Sirius made a bet
(October-31-1981)
"Shuuu don't cry Vanya, don't cry" Sirius was trying to make Vanya stop crying "Why is she crying so much today?" Sirius asked
"she left her favourite doll at Jamie's house" Marlene explained "Go get it then," Sirius told her "Why can't you?" Marlene asked
"Because I'm taking care of my Vanya," Sirius said, Marlene rolled her eyes
"Fine. I'll be right back" Sirius nodded
"Take care you know they're hiding or should I go?" Sirius asked
"I'll besides I'm braver than you" she winked and left the house.
When she reaches Godric's Hollow she rang the bell. James opened it wand in his hand
"Godric you scared me" James gasped
"you little pussy" Marlene commented, James rolled his eyes
"Hey Lena" Lily hugged her "Is everything ok?" She asked
"Fine just Vanya left her doll here and she has been crying for hours" Merlene explained
"Hey, Harry" Harry smiled "Va...Wher v?" Harry asked
"she is at home I'll bring her tomorrow" Marlene said. "pro..mis?" Harry asked "promise" she giggled
"here" James handed over the doll "thank you, Jamie" She chuckled.
"Tea?" Lily asked "Don't bother. I'll be on my way" they nodded
But something doesn't feel right and suddenly the lights were out and it was a weird cold feeling. They heard a sound
"Be here I'll check" James went out and they heard more sounds.
"LILY, LENA STAY INSIDE. IT'S HIM" James shouted. Their heart stopped.
Lily grab Harry, Marlene pointed her want at the door ready to cast a spell. It has been a few mins and sounds stopped
"what happen..." Lily whispered "I'll check," Marlene said "No!" Lily stopped her
"He IS ALONE" Marlene cried and slowly walked out
There was no one then she saw the thing which broke her heart into million pieces. Their lies James Potter's body.
No No No.
"Jamie, Jamie, James talk to me. hey" she was shaking his body but nothing. He was dead. Tears were coming out of Marlene's face
"pretty sad," said a voice. Marlene turn around and saw Voldemort standing there grim on his face
"YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT! Confringo" Marlene screamed. She was sending random spells at Voldemort "CRU--"
But Voldemort was quicker "AVADAKEDAVRA~" He shouted. With a quick snap, Marlene Mackinnon drops dead.
Hours Later-
Sirius Black came to Godric's Hollow with little Vanya in his arms. He heard what happen but he didn't believe a thing. They can't die, right? He went inside and saw James body.
"NO" He shouted then he saw Marlene's body NO! I SHOULD HAVE CAME. NOT HER. IT'S MY FAULT tears were coming out of his eyes then he saw Lily's body. It was so much to take in.
Sirius put Vanya with Harry and informed Dumbledore and Hagrid. Then he ran out to kill Peter who betrayed them.
One hour later-
Dumbledore and Hagrid saw Vanya and Harry alone crying. Hagrid hold them and he started crying as well
"Professor Dumbledore sir, What are we going to do?" Hagrid asked
"send Harry to his muggle Uncle and Aunt" Dumbledore stopped when he looked at Vanya. He knew the Mackinnon family all died in the first wizarding war.
"What abou' Little Vanya?" Asked Hagrid
"I apologise Hagrid she doesn't have any family alive," Dumbledore said
"What abou' Remus eh?" He asked
"He can't take her with his condition" Dumbledore explain
"then I'll take care of her" Hagrid offered
"Hagrid you're not her guardian" there was a silence before Dumbledore spoke "we will put her in adoption. That's for the best"
Three years later-
Vanya was in her room that she shares with four other kids. She was four years old.
"Vanya dear someone wants to meet you," a lady named Jemima Gray said
"Meet me?" She asked
"yes. You're going home" Vanya smiled
"I'm going home" Vanya jumped from excitement. She doesn't know her real home. She has only heard people talk about going home.
Jemima took Vanya outside and there was a beautiful woman with dirty blond hair wearing a long dress near him stood a man with a kind smile on his face.
"Vanya they are--" Jemima stared but the lady cut her off
"I'm Rachel and this is my husband, Karl" Rachel introduce her and waited for Vanya to say something
"M-My n-name is Vanya" Vanya whispered
"Vanya that's a lovely name," Karl said and smiled at her "we are here to take you home. Are you excited?" Rachel asked, Vanya nodded
"Yesss"
Four years later- (Vanya is Eight now)
Rachel is a witch and Karl is a Muggle. Her mom Rachel take Vanya to Diagon Alley whenever it's possible. Rachel works in the Ministry of Magic. Vanya love whenever her mom talks about Magic.
They live in the muggle world and Rachel works in the ministry that's why Rachel can't spend much time with her daughter Vanya. Usually, it's just Vanya and Karl.
Vanya has lot's of friends in her muggle school but her best friend was Itan Fernsby. He is her neighbour they grew up together. Itan is a Halfblood just like Vanya.
Everyone knows her as Vanya Greene. Only a few people know that she is adopted including Vanya herself, Rachel, Karl, Itan and his parents.
"Dad can I get this dress please," Vanya said with puppy eyes "Get anything you want sweetheart" Her dad smiled
"Thank you, Thank you" she hugged her father "I'll ask Itan if he like this or not" her dad nodded and Vanya ran to the other side of the shop to find Itan
"Itan which one is better?" Vanya asked holding two dress that looks the same to Itan
"Aren't they the same?" He asked "No look carefully," She said "Um Right one" Itan replied
"Alight. Thanks big boy" she kissed his cheek "Anytime Ane"
Ane is the nickname that Itan gave Vanya. She hates whenever he call her that. But little did Vanya knew, James use to call her Ane as well
September-1-1991
Vanya pov:
Finally, I was going to Hogwarts. I've heard many stories from mom. I can't believe my wait is over. I'm not 11 yet. I'll be after 10 days but still, I got my letter which was a bit weird that's what my mom said. Itan went to Hogwarts last year and he told me how beautiful it was. He is in Gryffindor. My mom was a Ravenclaw.
1993
Sirius Black talked about my mom and it made me feel incredible.
Black is Harry's godfather. Never saw that coming.
Sirius told me to call him uncle as he was one of my mom's best friend.
My Godparents were James and Lily Potter. Professor Lupin is my uncle.
Merlin. So much to take in.
I looked at Harry and smiled.
He is my best friend but he doesn't know that I fancy his enemy Draco Malfoy. I mean.. he is really hot. Only Itan knew about my crush and he is not happy about it
