Monday morning the WORST day of the week
But I have a mindset for Monday cause if I'm in a good mood on Monday then the rest of the week will be good because having a bad mood on Monday is just gonna set you up for a bad week

Anyway I woke up early for practice and I'm STILL not used to waking up this early but every match is important... apparently

I walked downstairs with my uniform a wee bit messier than usual as I was half asleep getting dressed. My mom was working and Emiko was at breakfast club so I just made some toast and left, I've already told Cho that I won't be able to walk with her to school anymore even though she lied to me I can't let go of our friendship... not yet anyway
I walked more cautious than usual to keep an eye out for Kageyama so I could walk with him I was lost in thought trying to keep an eye out for him when suddenly someone grabbed my shoulders
"BOO," said Kageyama with his hands on my shoulder
"YOU'VE GOT TO STOP DOING THAT!" I said while elbowing his side
"But your reaction is always so priceless," he said with a laugh
"Glad you enjoy almost giving me a heart attack," I said while looking at him angrily
"I do," he said with a smirk
"Is our project almost done?" I asked him ignoring his stupid face
"Nope, nowhere near," he said while shaking his head
"God we're gonna lose," I said while groaning
"WELL ITS YOUR FAULT FOR MAKING US GO TO TSUKISHIMA'S" he shouted while pointing at me
"HEY WE HAD A FUN TIME" I shouted back and he rolled his eyes
"Wait a second," said Kageyama as he looked at me
"What?" I asked looking up at him confused
"Say sizzling sausages," he said looking at me intently
"Sizzling sausages?" I said confused but then realised
"Omg! You have retainers," said Kageyama
"Omg! My retainers," I said as I put my hand over my mouth
"I must have forgotten to take them out," I said with a whine
"I can't believe you have retainers"
"I had to wear braces for two years," I said with a frown
"I'm definitely asking your mom for pictures," Kageyama said with an evil smile
"YOU ARE NOT" I shouted
"How did you even forget to take them out?"
"I was tired this morning," I said while looking up at Kageyama with a tired look
"Yeah I can, tell your uniform is more messy than usual," he said while looking me up and down
"Thanks," I said sarcastically while looking away from him
"Don't be so sour" he said with a laugh
"Hard to not be sour when I'm with you," I said with a fake smile
"Ouch I'm hurt," he said while clutching his heart
"What's your favourite Disney movie?" I asked him happily and ignoring his negativity
He looked at me concerned before saying "random but it's probably Monsters Inc."
"Huh, now that's surprising," I said
"Why?" He asked confused
"I didn't think you would have good taste in movies," I said while laughing
"Ha ha," he said as he rolled his eyes
"You always ask such random questions," he said while looking down at me
"Well yknow they just pop into my head and I can't contain myself," I said with a shrug
"Well, what's your favourite Disney movie?"
"Hard Hard question but probablyyyy Big Hero 6 or coco," I said while thinking through my answer
"So indecisive," he said while shaking his head
"WHAT? ITS A HARD QUESTION" I shouted
"I ANSWERED IT PRETTY EASY" he shouted back
"You have no soul," I said while crossing my arms and facing away
"Race you to the gym," he said while running away I then realised that we were at the school so I started running
Me and Kageyama were tied and I was really surprised, I was looking at him with a smile not paying attention when I suddenly banged into someone I fell to the floor and looked up to see who it was
"Are you okay, Kei?" I said while looking up at the person I banged into
"Am I okay? You're the one on the ground" he said while looking down at me trying to fight the concern that was on his face, Kageyama came over and helped me up
"You okay?" Kageyama asked me

"Omg! Kageyama, do you have a twin?" I said while looking at him
"Does she have a concussion?" Said Tsukishima as he grabbed my shoulders and looked me in the eyes
"I'm joking I'm joking, I'm okay!" I said with a laugh he let go of my shoulders and rolled his eyes
I started to walk into the gym before Kageyama stopped me "shouldn't you go to the toilet Y/n?" He said and I looked at him confused before he pointed to his mouth
"OHHH YEAHHH!" I said
"What? did you suck him off or something?" Said Tsukishima looking between us both
"KEI! EW AND GROSS WHERE DID YOU LEARN SUCH LANGUAGE FROM?" I said while looking at him stunned
"I'm not 5, Y/n," he said as he walked into the gym
"God," I said as I shook my head while looking at him in the gym
"I'll be right back Kageyama!" I said as I turned my head back to Kageyama before running off to the toilet
*time skip to volleyball practice after school*

Monday was a usual day nothing eventful happened just the usual arguing with Kageyama and Tsukki BUT luckily for Tsukishima him and Yachi have spent a lot of time together today because them and a few other people were chosen for setting up for sports day which is in a few days I don't really know since I won't be taking part because I am NOT athletic
I also noticed that Yamaguchi and Tsukishima still weren't friends and as intrigued as I was about why I knew I probably shouldn't ask Tsukishima about it but I am determined to find out what happened
"HEY EVERYONE!" I said as I walked into the gym I looked around and no one was there "huh" I said confused
"They're all getting changed," said Kiyoko who was sitting down on the benches I looked over at her in fear because I didn't realise her and Yachi where there
"OH HI GUYS!" I said as I sat down next to Yachi
"Hey Y/n," they both said with a wave
"Where's Coach Ukai?" I asked while looking around
"He's usually late," said Kiyoko
"So irresponsible," I said as I shook my head
Just then Coach Ukai came in with boxes I jumped up from my seat and ran over to him
"Ooo what's that," I said while looking at the box
"You'll have to wait and see, Y/n," he said as he placed the box on the bench
"Oh is that what I think it is," said Daichi as he walked out of the changing rooms with everyone following after him except for Kageyama and Tsukki
I wonder where they are
Then again they usually are the last ones out as they take FOREVER to get changed

"I think so," said Kiyoko as she picked up the box and took it to the stage
"What is it! what is it! what is it!" I asked Suga and Daichi excitedly
"Just wait a minute Y/n," said Daichi with a smile
Kiyoko started opening the box and pulled out a Karasuno jacket
"OH MY GOD!" me and Hinata said at the same time
Me and Hinata ran up to the box and waited for Kiyoko to give us our jackets we put them on and started cheering I ran up to Yachi with her jacket and she put it on, I waited for Tsukki and Kageyama to walk out of the changing rooms and when the did I handed them their jackets
"GUYS LOOK," I said as I gave them their jackets
"Jackets," said Kageyama happily as he put his jacket on
Me, Tanaka and Suga tried to convince Tsukki to put his jacket on, he refused at first until we annoyed him enough and he reluctantly put it on
"DO YOU LIKE IT KEI?" I asked him happily
"No," he said with a straight face
"TEAM PHOTO" shouted Tanaka excited
"GREAT IDEA!" said Noya happily
We all lined up pointing at our jackets except for Tsukishima of course, I stood next to Tsukishima and pulled his lips into a smile with my fingers and then at the perfect moment Coach Ukai took the picture, straight after he took it Tsukishima started shouting at me I laughed at him and then Takeda rushed into the gym
We all looked at him waiting for him to say something "I got us a match with Aoba Johsai" he said trying to catch his breath, most of the team started freaking out about it (especially Hinata) but Kageyama had a very displeased look on his face and his face grew angrier as Takeda continued to say "but only if Kageyama is the setter for the whole match" he said concerned
Diachi and Suga were talking to Takeda about it and Tanaka was mad because it sounded like Aoba Johsai just wanted to beat Kageyama and I was zoning out after they started discussing all the details so I went to annoy Tsukishima
"This is unbelievable" he said as I walked up to him
"How?" I asked confused
"We're really going up against Aoba Johsai " he said drinking his water
"Uh yes, because Karasuno is the best"
"You really know nothing about volleyball" he said looking down at me
"The facts don't matter" I said crossing my arms
"Having hope isn't going to help us win Y/n" he said as he shook his head
"Well not having hope gives us no chance in winning" I said looking up at him
He was about to reply as my phone started buzzing in my pocket i took my phone out to look at the message to see it was from

I stared down at the message nervously and Tsukishima was looking over my shoulder at the message

"Knew what" Tsukishima said in my ear as he had to bend down to see the messages I jumped away from him getting a fright not knowing that he was there
"DONT DO THAT" I said hiding my phone
"What?" he said pretending to be confused
"Well first PERSONAL SPACE second PRIVACY and thirdly don't give me a fright" I said annoyed
"Didn't know it was such a big deal and who were you texting anyway? Was it your boyfriend" he said smirking
"NO" I shouted
"Oh yes, I forgot you're in love with Ka-" he said before I stepped closer to him and I slapped my hand over his mouth
"Shut your weird mouth up" I said as I narrowed my eyes at him
"Someone's extra moody today" he said as he took my hand away from his mouth I was about to reply but he continued "What where you and the Oikawa guy talking about? What are you not wanting to tell us?" he said suspiciously
"Oikawa?" Kageyama said from across the hall and he started looking in our direction
"Uh no" I said nervously
"Yeah, she was talking to him about us and was nervous to tell us what she knows" Tsukishima said the whole team started looking at us and then my phone pinged again
I was about to see the message but Tsukishima stole it from me before I could
"Oikawa says 'you're too lovable for them to be mad at you'" he said putting my phone up high and reading it
"What is he talking about Y/n?" asked Suga as the whole team started walking over to us
"Uhh well" I said nervously
"Oh my god" said Tsukishima as he scrolled up on my messages and then Kageyama grabbed the phone from him
"She should tell us if she wants to" he said handing my phone to me and Tsukishima looked at him pissed off
"So, I might have- kind of- maybe... knew about this match possibly" I said as the whole team stared at me
"Oikawa told you" Kageyama said with a straight face
"Yeah, Oikawa texted me last night and said that it was probably happening sometime this week," I said with a nervous laugh
"Wait, who's Oikawa?" Asked Hinata confused
"I went to middle school with him," Kageyama said bluntly
"And how do you know him Y/n?" Asked Daichi confused
"Long Long story but I went to a cafe with him and a few other people," I said with a smile
"And why is Oikawa relevant?" Said Tanaka confused as well
"He plays for Aoba Johsai," I said while looking at him
"OMG Y/N, ARE YOU BETRAYING US?" Shouted Tanaka while grabbing my arms
"WHAT? NO" I shouted
"BUT YOU'RE FRIENDS WITH THE ENEMY," said Noya while shaking me
Noya and Tanaka kept on shaking me while shouting at me
"DONT WORRY! YOU GUYS ARE MY FAVOURITE" I shouted at them trying to get them to calm down but it didn't really work "I DONT EVEN TALK TO OIKAWA THAT MUCH" I said as I started to feel dizzy
"HE'LL STEAL YOU FROM US"
"NO, HE WON'T, DONT WORRY!"
Daichi pulled them off me and said "Y/n isn't going anywhere guys, don't worry"
"This guy's attitude is even worse than Tsukishima's," said Kageyama with a worried face that he tried to hide
"Is he strong? I've never seen him play" I asked Kageyama worriedly
"Extremely" he replied seriously
"The great king," Hinata said quietly
"What?" I said while looking at Hinata
"Oikawa is the great king!" He said excited, Kageyama looked down at him with a scowl
Almost everyone got kind of worried and nervous after what Kageyama said so I thought of what to say to calm them down
"Well, at least you guys are extremely strong too! Aoba Johsai better be prepared for what's about to come their way" I said happily. Tanaka and Noya got hyped after what I said and everyone started to relax and instead got super excited
"Ok, go get practising," I said after Tanaka and Noya calmed down
"Is no one going to pay attention to the fact that she could be telling the other team our secrets" Tsukishima said as the whole team just went on to play
"No? Ok" he said going of to play as well
I went back to sit down on the bench that coach Ukai was sitting on
"Maybe you'll be a better manager than I thought," he said while watching everyone

"I take back what I said," he said as he looked at me
"Cant take it back after you've said it"

"No you cant" I said crossing my arms
"I'm the COACH. You're a MANAGER, which we have three of by the way, how many coaches do you see? One"
"Ouch" I said before looking around and realising Takeda was gone
"Where did Takeda go?" I asked
"Had to go finalise the match or something" he said with a shrug
"Exciting! He's probably ordering busses and stuff" I said happily and then Kiyoko and Yachi came and sat down after putting the boxes away
"Do you like your jacket Yachi?" I asked her happily
"I love it!" She said with a smile
"So cool right? We're officially a part of the team" I said
"I'm glad you guys like them," said Kiyoko with a smile
After a while, I noticed Yachi was nodding off until she fell asleep on Kiyoko's shoulder I took my jacket off and me and Kiyoko moved her head onto my jacket as a pillow, practice soon ended and everyone noticed she was sleeping
"Everyone go change except for Kei" I whispered to the team as we were standing in a circle, me facing Tsukishima
"Why?" Tsukishima whisper yelled
"Well me and Kiyoko have to go fill up water bottles and someone needs to watch over Yachi" I whispered to him with a mad face
"What about Coach Ukai?" He said while pointing at Coach Ukai madly
"Cant I'm going for a smoke" coach Ukai said while standing up and going outside
While me and him were arguing everyone slowly walked into the changing rooms
"Well looks like it has to be you," I said realising that everyone left he looked around shocked before groaning
Me and Kiyoko stood up and collected all the bottles before I winked at Tsukki and left
After I walked out of the gym I felt an emotion that I had never felt before but I shook it off before I could pay any attention to it
"What do you think about Kei and Yachi?" I asked Kiyoko excited
"Well I don't really think they fit," she said nervously
"Really? Why not?" I asked confused
"You'll find out soon Y/n," she said while bending down and turning on the tap
"Huh?" I said confused

"Don't think too much about it" she said with a smile I bent down next to her waiting to fill up the water bottles
"So what do you think about the Aoba Johsai match?" I asked trying to forget about what we were talking about
"Surprised," she said trying to fill up the water bottles really fast
"Why?" I asked her as she finished her last bottle
"Well it's one of the top four teams in the prefecture," she said as I started filling up the water bottles that I had almost dropped from shock
"I NEVER KNEW THAT"
"Yup, they're pretty good"
"THIS IS GONNA BE SO FUN," I said happily
"Why are you happy about them being such a high team?" She asked confused
"Well the harder the team is to beat then the further you push yourself"
"Good way to look at things," she said with a smile
"Mhmmmm," I said while speedily filling up the water bottles
"DONE," I said as I closed the last bottle lid
"Great," she said with a smile as she picked up the bottles I picked up mines and followed after her
We were walking back to the gym and I couldn't stop thinking about what she said earlier on
What does she mean I'll find out soon
We walked back into the gym and the whole team was now there, Yachi was now awake and coach Ukai was gone and probably went back to his shop
"Come get yo wata bottles," I said with a laugh
Everyone was sitting outside drinking their water getting ready to go
"Can we go now?" I said with a whine
"Is everyone done with their water?" Asked Suga looking at the team
"Yup," everyone said
"Then we should be good to go!" Said Suga while looking at me happily
"YAY" I said as I started walking with Hinata we decided to go down to the convenience store and get pork buns as a celebration for the practice match
I wonder if we're going to coach Ukai's shop
Kageyama was walking with Suga and Kageyama had a really apologetic face for some reason
"Hinata do you know why Kageyama looks so sad," I asked Hinata and he looked behind to look at Kageyama too
"Not sure," he said confused I looked around a little more and saw that Tsukishima was walking with Yachi but before I could focus on it anymore Tanaka and Noya came over and Tanaka put his arm around my shoulder forcing me to look forward
"He feels bad that he is having to be the setter instead of Suga," Tanaka said
"Oh yeah, I forgot that Suga was a setter," I said with a frown
"Don't be sad Y/n" Noya said as he looked at me with a smile
"I just feel bad for Suga, it must be hard to get replaced by someone younger than you," I said
"I know it seems sad Y/n but Suga won't take it personally he only does what's best for the team and although Suga is very experienced and a great setter Kageyama is a prodigy," Tanaka said being carful of what he says. Tanaka admires Suga so much, so much so that I think he doesn't FULLY means what he's saying. I think he only said what he said to make me feel better.
"Suga is a saint then, I would be so mad" I said
"Me too" said Hinata
"Yeah, me third" said Tanaka
"Me fourth" said Noya and I giggled
"If we would all be mad about it, is it possible that Suga might be an alien?" I said freaked out
"Maybe" Hinata said suspiciously
"You guys are weirder than us" said Tanaka while pointing at himself and Noya
"I know right" said Noya while shaking his head
"Guys we're at the shop," said Daichi and we stopped and turned around he then went into the shop
"I can't wait to get some pork buns in my stomach" shouted Tanaka as he took his arm away from around my shoulder and rubbed his stomach
"I can taste them already," said Noya while wiping drool from his face
"They're gonna taste heavenly," said Hinata excitedly
Then Daichi came out with the pork buns and Hinata ate them all before anyone could get some so Kageyama, Tanaka and Noya started shouting at him while me and Tsukishima were watching it all go down and being very entertained
But because of all the shouting Coach Ukai came out of his shop and started shouting at us
"HI COACH UKAI" I shouted at him with a wave
"Oh no, Y/n's here," said Coach Ukai as he slapped his face in annoyance
"You guys better go before I get any complaints," said Coach Ukai looking at the boys
Everyone started leaving and Tsukishima started dragging me away from the store as I was saying bye to Coach Ukai and waving
"Now Y/n knows where Coach Ukai works," said Hinata concerned
"I know I feel bad for him," said Kageyama
"I wasn't the one shouting," I said while looking at Kageyama annoyed
He rolled his eyes at me and everyone started getting into their own conversations I waited till we were quite far behind everyone before talking to Tsukishima
"Why are you making us walk so far behind everyone?" Said Tsukishima while looking down at me
"To ask you about Yachi," I said with a smile
"NO!" he said while going a little red
"BUT WHY?" I shouted
"Because it's weird," he said
"BUT IM CUPID," I said and he looked down at me weirded out
"Nothing happened Y/n," he said with a straight face
"Keiiii I gave you the perfect opening," I said with a groan
"It's more complicated than you think Y/n," he said while looking at me
"What...how?" I said confused
"You'll find out soon," he said
"WHAT IS THIS THING THAT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT BUT ME?" I said annoyed
"I'll tell you eventually I'm just not ready yet," he said while looking away from me
"God well since you're not telling me I'm coming to your house," I said with a smile
"No," he said
"BUT SHORTCAKE" I pleaded while looking up at him
"You promise you'll behave," he said after a few minutes of thinking
"I'm not 5, Kei," I said with a smirk
"Fine," he said as he rolled his eyes
"Do you still have my ice cream?" I asked
"No, I ate it"
"YOU WHAT," I said while looking up at him angrily
"You heard me," he said with a smile
"I hate you," I said while walking away from him and he followed after me
"IM JOKING," he said while grabbing my arm
"Better be joking," I said as he let go of my arm
Soon we had to go our separate ways from the team Hinata wanted to hang out but most people were tired so we promised him to all hang out someday this week
"What type of music do you listen to?" I asked Tsukishima after we left the group
"Just music," he said with a shrug
I looked at his headphones and saw the stickers, I've noticed the stickers on them since last Thursday but I keep forgetting to ask about them
"Why do you have cat stickers on your headphones I thought you hate cats except for shortcake"
"I just thought they were cool," he said with a tint of pink on his cheeks
"Wait a second I recognise they headphones," I said while looking closer at the headphones
They look like... YACHI'S HEADPHONES
"Uh no you don't," said Tsukishima trying to get away from me
"They're Yachi's!" I said with a gasp
"No they're not," he said as I started trying to grab the headphones and he was trying to fight me off
"I don't know how I haven't recognised them before," I said confused while looking down at the headphones that were now in my hands
"You're not observant"
"YES I AM" I shouted at him
"Really?" He said while looking down at me with a smile
"Yes," I said looking up at him with a mad face
He took the headphones from me with a smile and then suddenly I banged into a lamppost

"I thought you were observant," he said as he laughed
"This is definitely going to leave a bruise," I said trying to fight off tears and he stared down at me his expression changed from a smile to being sort of concerned
"Are you gonna cry?" He said looking down at me actually sounding concerned
"No," I said looking away from him
"Don't worry we're almost at my house," he said trying to not show that he cared
"Wow you live pretty close to the school," I said trying to distract myself
"This is actually the long way," he said not really paying attention and just looking at me
"Awww do you care about me," I said shoving him
"Ew no gross," he said shoving me back
"Sureeee"
"I feel bad for the pole," he said, I laughed at what he said but then snapped out of my laughing because of what he just done
"Ha ha," I said while rolling my eyes
"We'll put some peas on your head to prevent a bruise"
"Thanks," I said as I could feel a lump on my head
We walked for a bit more until we arrived at Kei's house when we got inside he took me to the kitchen and rapped the bag of peas in a towel before putting it on my head
"This is your fault yknow," I said while looking up at him
"I'm not the one who walked into a pole" he said while looking down at me still holding the bag of peas on my head
There was a moment when we just stared at each other in the eyes before I realised what was happening and took the bag of peas from him and walked away
"Where are you going?" He asked following after me
"To your room," I said while walking into the living room to get up the stairs to his room
"Without my permission? That's kinda rude" he said following right behind me up the stairs
"Oh no I'm so sorry and very sorry for your stomach," I said as I kicked him in the stomach and he took a step back on the stairs and grabbed his stomach
"Real mature," he said still following after me
"Thanks," I said as I got to his room I walked in and shortcake came up to me
"HIYA SHORTCAKE," I said as I picked her up
"Has she gotten bigger?" I said surprised
"You saw her yesterday Y/n," he said as he dropped his bag on the floor
"That was such a long time ago though," I said as I sat on his bed holding the peas on my head
"Is your brother in?" I asked Tsukki as he went into his mini fridge
"No," he said as he took shortcake from me
"It must be lonely being in this big house all by yourself," I said as I laid back on his bed and outstretched my arms
"It's peaceful," he said while sitting at his desk feeding shortcake
"When are your parents meant to come home?"
"Few days from now but then they leave again"
"Don't worry Kei, I'll come over much more so you don't have to be alone" I said as I sat up and looked at him
"Yippee," he said sarcastically
I kept my promise to Tsukki and went to his house every day after school, we didn't do much just watched movies most of the time, I still haven't managed to meet his brother yet cause he's usually at his girlfriend's house and his parents still aren't home yet, I think Kei enjoyed my company, at least I hope he did
It got to Wednesday and nothing extraordinary happened just the team practising EXTRA hard but Hinata was acting weird the entire week I asked Suga about it and he said that it was because Hinata was under a lot of pressure I tried to calm Hinata down and it worked until we got to Thursday where we were told that the practice match would be held on Friday
When it got to Friday Hinata was a nervous wreck all day, I was with him most of the day to try and calm him down but it didn't really work. What made it even worse was that Asahi and Noya ended up being sick so we had to change the whole set up as they couldn't make it to the match
After school me, Kiyoko, Takeda, Coach Ukai and Yachi were waiting at the bus for the team they were in a club room getting changed or something
I really hope this match goes well
And I really hope the team like Oikawa
But I dont think they will

OK GUYS IK THIS STORY ISNT ANYTHING LIKE THE TIMELINE IN HAIKYUU BUT IM COMPLETELY GOING OF MEMORY FOR HAIKYUU AND I STARTED REWATCHING IT JUST FOR THESE CHAPTERS AND I WAS LIKE OMG ITS NOTHING LIKE THE ANIME LIKE THE CHARACTERS ARENT AND NEITHER IS THE TIMELINE but Yknow what? it's ok but next time I should probably not go of memory, like I watched haikyuu a YEAR ago but we'll roll with it (seriously contemplating changing this from a haikyuu fanfic and it just being a normal story, but I love the anime too much at least the anime I've created in my head) I hope you guys can bare with me
