POV: Narrator
Seth gets up and looks at the calendar.
Seth: Dance? Daaaaaanncccee? Hmm, whatever.
MMMMM
Seth: Err, who's texting now?
He walks over to his bed and picks up his phone, then.
???: BRRRROOOOOTTHHHERRRRR!!!!
Seth: Oh no.
He hears footsteps coming up the stairs and turns around.
???: Sup little bro? It's been too long!
Seth: Not long enough.
???: Aww come on, it's been like 2 weeks since I've been home. Yeah I saw mom but you didn't want to go to dinner!
Seth: Alex, you act like a kid sometimes.
Alex: Well you can learn to get sense of humor you know. If not you'll never get a girlfriend.
Seth: Thats rich to hear.
Alex: Huh?
Seth: It's nothing.
His sister looks to the wall. The day was circled with writing, Dance, on it.
Alex: Dance? Your not social enough to go to one. Even with friends. Wait, . . . HUH!! NO!!
Seth: What?
Alex: D-Don't tell me you got a girl! That's impossible!!
Seth: That hurts.
Alex: Come on, I'm still single it's not fair!!!
Seth: Not like I was trying to get a girlfriend. She asked me out in the most slice of life anime ever.
Alex: That's good, right?
Seth: I guess.
Alex: What's her name?
Seth: It's Patty.
Alex: Err.
Seth: You're always a heckler on names. Maybe that's why you're single.
Alex: You got talk all of a sudden.
Seth: Just saying. Anyways, I must have forgotten about the dance, but I left clothes out for it so it must be a thing.
Alex: So how long have you been dating?
Seth: Just this week.
Alex: Do you remember her confessing?
Seth: A little, but that's a long story.
Alex: I bet you embarrassed yourself.
Seth: Heh, yeah I did but it ended ok I guess.
He looked at what clothes were there. It was black dress pants and a white long sleeve button up. There was a also a black suit jacket.
Seth: I can tell this is Dad's.
Alex: Not like you would ever do this if you did have a girlfriend.
Seth: You're not wrong. I still didn't want to go but that main reason she even asked me out was for the dance.
Alex: You think she really likes you?
Seth: I can't tell. She's a cheerleader-
Alex: OOooh I see what you mean. So you do think she's faking.
Seth: When she, "confessed", she was talking about the dance a lot. She probably needs someone to go with. But I still can't guess why she would pick me.
Alex: Maybe she really does like you. It's not like your ugly. I'd say have more confidence in yourself but you've always been like this. You always second guessed yourself and things like that. So, the real question is, do you like this girl?
Seth: I . . . I don't know.
Alex: Well try to find out. Let's not waste someone's time right.
Seth: Yeah. Anyway, I'll go with her. Can you leave, I wanna get change.
Alex: Did you sleep in again?
Seth: Just woke up not to long ago.
Alex: Well it's past noon, that won't fly in college.
Seth: I bet you sleep in all day too.
Alex: Heh heh, can't say. Well get ready.
She gets up and walks downstairs. 10 minutes later, he walks downstairs to see his Dad.
Erwin: Hey, looking good there. I thought it would fit.
Erwin Walker, Seth's father. He works in an office that takes up lots of his time. He would travel a lot till he get a promotion and now just works long hours.
Erwin: So when is it, do you know?
Seth: No. I have to text Cameron.
Erwin: So this girl of yours, you're picking her up right?
Seth: Yeah. I'm not in idiot Dad. I know what to do.
Erwin: That's new, but ok.
Seth: Looks like it starts at 6:00. Wait why did I get changed?
Erwin: Anyways, your mother would want to take pictures of you so just stay like that.
Seth: Ok.
Alex: Mom he's down here!
Julie Walker walks into the room. She had her phone ready.
Julie: Awww you look great!
Seth: Mom please.
Julie: Well I have to take a picture. You never went to your old dances so this is a very special moment.
Erwin: I went with your mother in high school.
Alex: You have to bring this girl over to see how exactly she did this miracle.
Seth: Oh shut up.
SNAP
Julie: Ok, you can get change. We don't want you getting dirty now.

Seth once again gets changed. It was 5:20 and he was going to pick up Patty. He walks down the stairs and grabs his keys.
Julie: Have fun Seth!
Erwin: Don't do drugs or drink.
Seth: Yeah and yeah.
Alex: Make sure you're home by 10:00.
Seth: I would if I could.
Alex: Yeah I don't think that girl will let you go that easily.
Seth: Yeah.
He waves back and walks out. He gets to his car and gets in.
Seth: Lets see. Address, address, here. Ok.
After starting the car, he sets off. It wasn't a long drive, about a 10 minute drive. He parks in front of the house and opens the door, then closes it almost immediately.
Seth: Crap, I'm going to meet her family, Her Parents!! I don't look boyfriend material! If my daughter came home with a guy like me I'd tell her to drop me!
He looks in the mirror and moves his hair.
Seth: Damn it, this is why I hate this boyfriend shit. I never would care about this stuff if it wasn't for this situation.
He closes the mirror and gets out.
Seth: Just relax, not like I'm going to see a wrestler.
After getting to the door, he knocks on it three times. After 5 seconds, the door opened. A man stood there looking at Seth.
Seth Thinking: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! I'M LOOKING AT A MOB BOSS RiGHT NOW!! I'M A DEAD MAN!!
Seth: A-A-A-Ah, H-Hello, Sir.
???: Oh, you're Patty's boyfriend I've heard so much about.
Seth: A-ah, Yeah- I MEAN YES!! I-I'm Seth Walker Sir.
???: Hmm, I'm Jim Goldsmont.
The man looks at Seth for 15 seconds without talking. This made Seth very uncomfortable.
Jim: I see.
Seth: AH!! S-S-SEE WHAT!?!?!
Jim: You can tell a lot of a man just by seeing what they do in these situations.
Seth: And, what kind of a man am I?
Jim: How to put this. You ar-
Patty: DAD!!!
Jim: Ah, Patty?! I thought you were still getting ready!
Patty: Yeah but I'm done!!! Sorry Seth, he's weird.
Seth: Ah, oh it's o-ok.
Patty: Let's just go.
Jim: Hang on there young lady, your mother wants a picture of you two.
Patty: WHAT?!
Jim: Hey don't shoot the Messenger.
He walks back in shrugging his shoulders.
Patty: Seth I'm really sorry.
Seth: It's fine, my mom wanted pictures too.
Patty: Yeah but still.
She wore a pouty face and followed her father inside.
He walked behind her and got to the living room and kitchen.
Seth Thinking: Wow nice open concept.
???: Oh you must be Seth, it's nice meeting you, I'm Tina Goldsmont, Patty's mother.
Seth: Oh, it's nice meeting you too.
He gives a little bow and a little smile.
Patty: Mom come ooon!
Tina: Oh don't be like that. It's just a picture. Stand there ok.
Patty: Ok.
She stands against the wall and puts her hands behind her back.
From here, Seth got to see what she was wearing. She had a pink dress. Okay he was sure a girl would use a fancier word but to him it was pink, it had two skinny straps and it looked shiny. He wondered what kind of material it was for about half a second she he saw her shoes where super tall heels! How was she going to dance in those was his first thought ?? At least it was to her knees so he knew she shouldn't trip.
Seth: W-wow.
He muttered under his breath.
Jim: Take it all in kid.
Seth: AHH!!
Patty: Dad stop!
Jim: What I do now?
Patty: Mmmmm.
Jim: Alright alright.
Tina: Ok, Seth come on.
Seth: Huh?
Tina: You have to get in one too.
Seth: Ah, I do?
Jim: Go get 'em kid.
He kicks Seth over and he stumbles a little. He walks by Patty and look down.
Patty: You look really good.
Seth: Ah, thanks. Same to you.
Patty: Hehe.
Tina: Come on you two, get closer.
Patty takes a step closer to Seth, making him tense up.
Tina: Say cheese!

Tina: One more.
Patty: Relax, not like anyone is watching.
Seth: Your parents are right here.
Patty: Well Mom wants a good picture and we aren't going anywhere till then sooo.
She reaches for Seth's hand and brings it around her waist.
Seth: P-P-
Patty: Shhh, just breathe and smile.
He looks straight and does so.

Tina: Ok, you two can go.
Patty: Ok let's go.
Jim: Want me to take you?
Seth: Heh, no need sir, I have a car.
Jim: Hmm, alright.
Patty: Ooo nice.
The two start walking towards the door, till Seth feels a tug on his jacket.
Jim: Hey kid, a word. You know, man to man.
Patty: Daaaaad!!
Seth: It's ok, I'll be fine.
He turns to her with a thumbs up, shakily.
Jim walks to where the pictures were taken and stops. Seth also stops.
Jim: You're the kind of guy who doesn't talk to many people. The people you do talk to probably walked up to you and talks.
Seth: W-what.
Jim: 11:0-, no, midnight. Be back by then.
Seth: M-Midnight!!??
He pulls out his phone and started typing.
Jim: Ah, what you doing?
Seth: Did Patty tell you? I have a bad memory and times are something I tend to forget.
Jim: Oh, well, ok. And this should go without saying, and not that a guy like you would, I don't want to be a grandpa anytime soon.
Seth: OH NO NO NO!! I'D NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!
Jim: Yeah I know you wouldn't, being that you can't even hold her waist.
Seth: Heh, yeah.
Jim: Anyways, get going.
Seth: Yes sir.
He does a small bow and speed walks out the door.
Patty: Sorry for him.
Seth: It's fine. It was needed you know. Midnight.
Patty: Hehe, that sounds good. So what's your car?
Seth: This one.
BEEP
Patty: WOW THIS IS NICE!!!
He opens the door for her.
Patty: Thanks! But before we get in, and I know I've said this before but I think your forgetting something.
Seth: It's a possibility. But I feel like I got everything.
Patty: You sure?
She leans forward and put her arms behind her.
Seth: Ah, I'm sorry, but I don't know.
She takes a step towards him and looks up. He looks away, since looking down, he'd be able to see more then usual, and he can still feel eyes on him in the house.
Seth: C-come on, we shouldn't be late.

Patty Thinking: I kinda knew he'd forget, but did no one tell him about what a corsage?
Patty: Hey, are we going to Cameron's?
Seth: Why would I? I heard he got a date so I didn't think I have to pick him up.
Patty Thinking: He doesn't know about pictures at peoples houses too Huh.
RRRIIIINNNGGG
Seth: Oh, can you get that?
Patty: Yeah of course.
She grabs his phone, and sees the caller was non other than Cameron.
Patty: Hey what's up? Yeah he's driving. Mhm yeah. I thought so, I'll tell him. Ok, ok, no no I can remember it. Ok, see ya!
Seth: Who was it?
Patty: Hehe, Cameron. He said to come over.
Seth: Err, what does he want?
Patty: I'm sure he'll tell you. I'll tell ya where to go.

Cameron: YOU BASTARD, YOU WEREN'T GOING TO COME!?!?!
Seth: What are you talking about?
Cameron: Hurry your ass up. We don't have much time.
Seth: I still don't understand.
They walk in Cameron's house. It was a two story house with a nice clean yard. As they get in, Seth sees more people.
Tyler, Cole, Luna, Jade, and several others.
Seth: What's going on?
Cole: Finally, I thought you never would get here.
Luna: I know right, let's get this thing going!
Seth: I need an explanation.
Jade: You see, people go to their friends house and take a group picture. We took some but we waited for you.
Seth: Ah, for me?
Cameron: Duh, your a member of our click,
Seth: Don't say that.
Cameron: so we couldn't take a big one. Now get your ass over here.
He pushes Seth to the middle of the room and everyone gather around him.
Cameron: IRIS GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE AND HELP!!!
Iris: I'M NOT YOUR MAID!!! YOU CAN ONLY GET ONE OF THOSE IN YOUR DREAMS, AND ON THAT SHITTY BODY PILLOW!!
Everyone starts laughing. Iris is Cameron's little sister. Unlike Seth and his sister, Iris is only 2 years younger then her brother.
Cameron: Just take the damn photo.
Everyone gets closer as Iris takes the picture. They start to take photos with themselves in smaller groups.
Seth: Didn't know this was a thing.
Patty: I did ask.
Seth: Not like I knew.
Patty: Hehe, come on, let's take a picture. Here, your arms are longer.
Seth: Ok.
He grabs Patty's phone and uses the camera. He extends his arm and Patty gets close to him. Seth gives a little peace sign as he takes the photo.
Patty: It came out nice!
Seth: That's good.
Cameron: Get your ass here.
He wraps his arm around Seth and takes a photo with him. Then Tyler and Cole came over and took one of them all.
Tyler: Pretty busy huh.
Seth: A bit of a pain to be honest.
Tyler: It's just pictures.
Seth: I didn't sign up for being a model.
Cole: And I bet you didn't sign of for dancing, but you still are aren't you.
Seth: mmmm.
Tyler: Heh, yeah same here.
Cole: Who did you bring?
Tyler: My brother had a friend who's sister wanted to go so yeah.
Cole: Sounds,
Seth: Complicated.
Tyler: Not really.
Seth: What about you?
Cole: Eh, I'm actually alone. I didn't find anyone.
Cameron: I told you to let me help you.
Cole: No, then I'd be stuck with your sister or something.
Cameron: What?
Tyler: Don't make me feel weird.
Seth: So you have a girl then Cameron?
Cameron: Yeah, we were friends for a while, so I asked her to come with me.
Seth: At least you aren't strangers.
Cameron: Yeah exactly.
Tyler: I feel bullied now.
Cameron: Well we can start going to school now.
Seth: Ehh, don't tell me we're walking.
Cole: Walking is good for you.
Cameron: And there's no point to drive.
Seth: Fine.
Everyone gets their stuff and starts walking out the door. Seth look around at all the people.
Patty: Something wrong?
Seth: No, not really. Just realized all the girls had high heels on. That seems like a pain just for a couple of inches.
Patty: Ok well some people aren't as tall as you. In fact you basically have to look down when you look at me.
Seth: How tall are you?
Patty: I'm 5'1.
Seth: I'm pretty sure I'm 6'1.
Patty: Well it doesn't matter, I'm 5'3 right now.
Seth: Wow so tall. But I don't see why you wear them.
Patty: The real question is why not. Yeah they're not the most comfortable shoe, in fact it's the worst, but being tall has a price.
Seth: Hmm.
He looks around and sees that most the girls have heels on, all but Jade. In her words, there is no need for them. She is 5'6 without them so she wore Converse.
Seth looks to see the guy next to her. A tall guy, about 6'3, bulky, but not too big.
Seth: That must be that guy she talked about.
Patty: Oh that's Max. He's on the football team. He's really really nice. Some of those guys are jerks but he's not.
Seth: Ok. I mean if Jade can stand him I guess he's cool.
Patty: That's one way to put it.
Seth: Do you know a lot of people?
Patty: A good amount. More people probably know me though. But I know most people here.
Luna: Mmmm my feet hurt.
Seth: I mean the heels are not helping.
Luna: Height comes at a cost!
Patty: Told you.
Luna: I'm 5'2, I have to get as much air as I can.
Seth: I still don't understand.
Luna: That's because you're already tall. And are we not going to talk about how those shoes give you an Inch!!
Patty: I was thinking that too. We need a measuring tape.
Luna: Yeah it's not fair.
Seth: If it makes you feel better my feet hurt too.
Luna: It doesn't
Seth: Oh.
Patty: I should have brought another pair.
Luna: What shoe size are you?
Patty: I'm a 6.
Luna: Well thank God I brought 2 extra.
Luna lifts up a little string bag.
Seth: 2?
Luna: Well if one doesn't do the trick you switch.
Patty: I can totally respect that.
Seth: Girls are weird.
???: Tell me about it.
Seth: AHHH!!!
???: Oh, sorry there, didn't mean to scare you.
Seth: Ah, who are you?
Luna: Mmm, this is a family friend. He came with me.
???: My name is Ronan Cooper.
Seth: Seth Walker.
Ronan: We've been friends for a long time, I've known her for years.
Seth: Cool.
Ronan: Yeah, we used to do everything together. Eat together, play together, bathe together.
Seth: Um, cool?
Luna: Will you shut up!
Seth: Yeah I didn't need to know what.
Patty: Kinda weird flex but ok.
Ronan: But I mean how many people can say they've done that with her. I'll tell you, only 3 people have ever!
Patty: 3?
Luna: My parents.
Patty: Ohhh.
Seth: I mean not like I would want to do that with he- AH!
Seth gets pushed into the wall and held there.
Seth: Um, what's up?
Patty: HEY WHAT THE HELL!!??
Luna: RONAN!! STOP!!
Cameron: Hey what's going on!?
Ronan: What are you trying to say about Luna huh?
Seth: Nothing.
Ronan: YOU TELLING ME SHE'S UGLY?!?!
Seth: I never said that.
Ronan: THEN EXPLAIN YOUR LAST STATEMENT!!
Seth: What I don't want to take a bathe with her? I'm sure she wouldn't either.
Luna: Why is this happening?
Ronan: Why would you say something like that, Luna is-
Patty: Will you get off of him!
Cameron: Hey man let's calm down ok. Congrats on taking a bath with Luna and all but the reason this guy can't imagine that is because he has a girlfriend and lets say she has a thing for reading minds and if she even thought he was thinking like that about another girl, oh no no, he'd be dead ok.
Ronan: So you saying you thought that?
Cameron: Come on, just look at her, who wouldn't.
Ronan turns to Luna and at that time Cameron shook his head violently, stating that he was lying for several reasons. Ronan gets off of Seth.
Ronan: I see, you're just a faithful boyfriend. Your imagination belongs to her I see.
Seth: No I tend not to think nasty thoughts at all.
Ronan: WHAT!?!?
Cameron: HE MEANS . . That, he doesn't need to think that stuff you know! He's been there, done that, if he wanted to get naked in front of his girl he could.
Ronan looks at Patty and again Cameron shakes his head. Ronan back off again.
Ronan: Oh I see, I just took you as some loser virgin, but I didn't know you were so fast. Sorry.
Seth: But, I am a vir- GAH!!
Cameron fall right on Seth.
Cameron: WHOOPS, Sorry, let's just get going ok!
Ronan walks ahead.
Cameron: *whispers* What are you doing, I saved you and you just fucked up the lie! Just run with it!
Seth: Sorry, thanks.
Patty: Cameron, thank you!
Cameron: Ahh it's nothing. Just helping out my buddy.
Seth: He had bad breath.
Luna: Seth! I'm super super sorry! Please forgive him!
Seth: Ok.
Luna: Yeah, he's a weird one. I didn't want him to come but my mom insisted. I knew he had a big crush on me but as you can see he's a little, well, you know.
Patty: Crazy.
Luna: Yeah, that.
Seth: It's fine. Not like he did anything to me.
Cameron: Yeah he didn't just push you against a wall or anything but ok.
They all walk to the school to see everyone walking inside.
Seth: Ehh there's going to be a lot of people.
Patty: Well yeah, it is a dance.
Seth looks around and notices that most of the girls have a flower on your dress. He turns to Jade, Luna, and the girl Cameron brought to see a bright pink flower on them.
Seth: Hey Patty, did you forget a flower for your dress? I think there's a theme going on.
Cameron: PFFF!!
Patty: Ah, well, you see-
Cole walks behind Seth and hits his head.
Seth: Now that really hurt.
Cole grabs Seth and whispers.
Cole: You idiot, you didn't get her a corsage?!
Seth: What's that?
Cole: It's the flowers! Guys give them to their girls for dances or dates even.
Seth: . . . H U H!
Cole: I guess it's too late now, but now you know.
He lets go of Seth and walks away.
Seth Thinking: MY FAMILY NEVER TOLD ME THIS!! (They did) Now I look like a bum not giving her something. Damn it, I have to do something!

Luna: So he forget the corsage huh.
Patty: To be honest, he probably never heard of one.
Jade: I can see that.
Patty: It's fine though. I was kinda expecting it, but still. Anyways you girls go in, I'll be there soon when he gets done with Cole.
Luna: Kay'! See yeah!
The two girls walk inside as Patty stands by the door. Seconds later, Cole walks past her.
Patty Thinking: It's not his fault. He just can't help it. But he could have not blamed it on me though.
Seth: Patty.
Patty: Ye- ah.
She turns to see Seth looking to his right, with his hand out. The hand holds a small flower. A red rose with a green stem. She looks up to see Seth still looking away.
Seth: Sorry, I, I never went to a dance, so I never knew I should had gotten you something.
She slowly takes the flower and looks at it.
Seth: I can't even blame my memory on this, it was just me not being considerate. Forgive me.
He gives a small bow as Patty holds the rose closer to her.
Patty: Y-you know, it's not like it's a rule, you didn't have to.
Seth: It's nothing. Really.
Patty: Seth. . .
Seth: No really it's nothing I just picked it-
Patty: Don't ruin the moment!!
