It was the next day and I was the first one to wake up. I looked at the clock "5:30" I said to myself as I lie back down and stretched the tiredness away and rubbed my eyes then went to get ready for the day
After I was finished I woke everybody up because emma was still asleep
"GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!" I shouted as I pulled the curtains to let the morning sun in and saw everybody was waking up except emma. Last night really took a toll on the poor girl. I waited for 5mins for all of the other kids to leave the room
I went towards her and shake her up gently "Emma its time to wake up" I said as she started to wake up then suddenly shot up, looking around frantically. I hold cupped her face "Hey, Hey, Hey emma its okay its okay, I'm here, I'm here." I said
"Was it all a dream... Conny is with her new family and there arent any demons? This isnt a farm? That wasnt mama?" Emma asked looking at me to confirm that all of it was a dream
I sighed and hugged her "No... Its all real." I whispered in her ear
I pulled away from the hug and said "Go and get ready, everybody maybe at the cafeteria waiting for us and dont forget to smile, mama doesnt know that we went to the gate last night."
She nodded and went to do her business and I went to help prepare for breakfast
I smiled and saw the kids helping out saying good morning to them as I pass them by
"Good morning harley" norman said with a smile and ray saying it after him with the usual boredom look on his face
I went to help prepare the table and not long after we started to eat

After we take our daily test me, emma and norman were walking away from the other kids off towards the edge of the forest
"Did you both sleep at all last night?" norman asked
"Yeah, but I woke up later than usually so harley woke me up." emma said
"I woke up earlier than usual." I said
Emma then starts talking about the house being a cage so I tuned them out until norman talks about the tests
"But what about the tests?" norman asked
"Why? Its not like getting good scores would make our meat... taste any better?" emma said
"I did some thinking last night." I joined in on their conversation
Both of them looked at me giving me the go sign to continue
"Were cattle plain and simple right? And as cattle the farmer must give it the proper nutrients and what not to make the cattle top quality right? Last night the demon said "another 6 year old, weve been shipping average quality as of lately" so its safe to assume that 6 years old is the average quality and we get shipped no matter what when we hit the age of 12-"
"So what your saying is that 6 years old is the average and 12 years old are premium." emma said
"Yes so I concluded that our brains is the most delicious part." I said
Then both of them looked at me in shock
"Think about it our brains is developed when were 6 and fully developed when were 12. The test is to help develop our brains. Why we dont see any demons past the gate is because it might terrify us and do some harm to our growth. The house is to give us a good environment to grow aswell." I said
Both of them silence because of the revelation
"We need to determinse what we know.So its safe to assume that the brain is the most important part to the demons. So before conny, hao left. Before hao, cedi left. Based on the dates that those three were taken, we can assume the next shipment will be in two months at the earliest. Thats the amount of time we have to find a way for all of us to escape this place." norman said and continued
"If I were to draw a simple diagram." norman then drew a simple layout of the house and started talking about possibilities and what not
"That settles it. We'll escape during the dayte in the forest." norman said
"Wheither or not that'll be possibel depends.." I said
"On what is beyond this forest." emma finished
We looked at each other and gave a nod of understanding then jumped over the fence to see what was on the end of the other side of the forest
Its a wall." the three of us said at the same time
Emma went to a tree and started to climb it. Norman went to the wall and put his ear next to it while I just looked at both of them waiting for them to be done with their findings
I looked up at emma "What do you see up there?" I asked
"Nothing! Just that its 2-3 meters wide and is super tall!" emma said as she was climbing down
"There's nobody on the lookout and its quiet on the otherside. What do you think harley?" norman said as he approaches us
I looked towards the wall "Its tall, thiccc, sturdy and smooth. They must have built it knowing that it needs to be difficult to climb or make it a pain in the butt. But a make shift rope would make it a lot easier to climb." I said and looked towards them
"Yeah! We can easily climb this if we had a rope." emma said with hope in her voice
"Definetly" Norman said with a smile
I nodded "Now. How do we get everyone to come with us?" I asked them both looking at them putting their brains into good use
Before giving me their suggestions we heard a ringing sound telling us that its already time to go back
"We have to go back!" emma said
We ran as fast as our legs can carry us. Getting there just in time. Taking deep breaths as we rested, wiping sweat of our brows
"Is everyone here?" mama asked
"Were missing nayla and m-" gilda got cut off by mark shouting "MAMAAA!"
"Mark! Did something happen?" mama asked as mark was taking deep breaths from all the running and shouting
"What do I do? I got separated from nayla in the forest! I looked everywgere for her but couldnt find her!" mark said with tears in his eyes
"The sun's about to set... It'll be pitch black soon." mark continued
As mark was talking, mama pulled out her watch looking at it for a moment then putting it back in her pocket
"Dont worry." mama said to mark with a closed eye smile and looks towards the rest of us and said "Everybody stay put. Do you hear me?" then walks towards the forest
Not long after we saw her at a distance carrying a sleeping nayla in her arms
Everybody except me, norman and emma went to her screaming mama and nayla
"It seems she got tired and fell asleep. Not a single scratch to be seen." mama said
"Thank heavens... I'm so sorry nayla." mark said crying his eyes out while the rest were laughing
Not us though. Norman and emma has a look of fear while I showed no emotion
Before mama gets a glance at our expression I pulled emma and norman towards the house so only our backs can be seen by mama
"Both of you need to relax and take a deep breath! Your faces looks suspicious and mama might get the idea that we know something. Were going to talk somewhere more private" I said to them
They nodded and took a moment to collect themselves not knowing that mama was looking at them suspiciously as the three retreating figures where acting a bit odd as of lately
As we went inside the house and into the library where no one was around
I said "Okay! I know what you guys are thinking, that mama foumd nayla way too fast and the only logical explanation is that mama's watch is a tracking device."
"And there must be a transmitter embedded somewhere inside of our bodies." emma said
"So far we know that we need a rope, there is a tracking device inside us and that mama doesnt know that we know what truly is this place" norman said recapping everything that we know so far
"I can say that today was a productive day! Dont you think?" I said trying to lighten the mood as both of them in my eyes were getting frustrated from the lack of knowledge
They nodded and smiled "Yeah!" Both of them said at the same time making all of us laugh together
