Yumna was continuously calling Hadeed who was not picking up her calls or replying to any of her text. It was almost 12 p.m. on a sunday. She didn't have shift & she knew Hadeed didn't have one too. Even if he slept till late, 12 pm was late enough for him to wake up now. She was hospital yesterday, & also met Hoor's dad. She was very happy for Hoor as after 3 years of living with her in hostel, she was getting her family back. Yumna's family lived in the same city but she wanted to live in university's hostel. She sighed and threw her phone on the bed. She decided to change & go to his house, afterall she was his wife now.

She wore a green shalwar Kameez with little jewellery, her hair as always in a bun and left. She parked the car & pressed the bell. Hadeed's sister, Madiha opened the door. She met her and went inside, but couldn't see Hadeed in the lounge. She met her mother in law and she told her Hadeed is in his room, sleeping. She took her to Hadeed's room & opened the door. Yumna was shocked to see the condition of his room. Wrappers of food everywhere, cushions on the floor, tangled bedsheet and some other items scattered everywhere.

"Beta, ek baat kahun." His mother politely called her who nodded in a state of shock.

(Dear, Do I tell you something?)

"Tumhay isme nazar kia aya tha jo shadi krli?" Yumna's eyes widened as she looked at her mother in law.

(What did you see in him that you married him?)

"Job pe bht acha or Disciplined beshak hota hoga magar shadi krke to ek ghr me rehna hai na uske sath, ghr me to ye intihai laparwah insan hai. Ab jo hona tha wo to hogaya. Tum doctor ho tmhy to pata hai khana peena or safai kitni zururi hai, isko to bilkul khyal nai hai. Likin meri hamdardi tmhry sath hai beta, kabi koi masla ho mjhy batana main iske kaan khinchugi. Ab khudi uthao isay." She patted her shoulders and left, leaving Clean-freak yumna in a state of panic and worry. How will they spend their life together as opposites?

(He may be very disciplined & good at job but after marriage you have to live with him at home, not at hospital. He is very careless at home. Whatever was supposed to happen, has already happened. You are a doctor you know how important a good diet & cleanliness is. He doesn't care. But my sympathies are with you, child. If there's a problem, tell me I'll pull his ears. Now wake him up yourself.)

A/N

There falls our beautiful Dr. into the harsh reality & comes out of her fantasy of blue eyes💀💀

Life isn't all about fantasy. We all have to compromise & change. When we talk about change, often sentences like *Never change for someone.* *If you can't accept me the way I am, leave.* *I am not going to change myself.* come in our mind and credit to social media.

Yes, do not CHANGE for someone but we need to learn that there's a difference between improving & changing. We didn't learn to improve in the name of being yourself and accepting yourself.

If you're a liar, then you are supposed to stop lying instead of claiming this is how I am. You are supposed to try to improve yourself. If not for someone else, for your own self.

Also; this is coming from someone who hates marriage & relationships. I just didn't see much happy couples/ loving couples around me & I am here to find peace in fiction.

I am here to see loving, caring & beautiful aspect of marriage to escape realities because I know all this exists only here. You will most probably not find me writing about the milky white skin of a female character & perfect skin, her hazel, blue or green eyes & perfect lips and rosy lips.

I am here to make us all feel better. Don't know why, but somewhere when I read such female leads, I look at myself in mirror. As someone already losing hope in relationships, these perfect body & face according to society's standards only make me feel bad.

The male leads are always falling for their beauty. In first sight, you do not fall in love with someone's character or someone's nature. You only either like someone or fall in love with looks at first sight. Where are the leads who fall for someone's honesty? Someone's love for their career? Someone's professionalism? Someone's reserved nature?

Yes, Yumna did fall in love with Hadeed's eyes because it happens. You know their story. There were a lot of stereotypes broken by their marriage. She is elder, at a high paying job and this is NOT the plot of their story. They will treat it as something normal, there maybe a few scenes when this will be a topic between them but it is not going to be something like plot etc. She was a doctor and he worked at cafe part time with his studies.

In all these episodes, I don't think I have given any explanation of the facial features of any character except for the eye colours. That too only one male character has blue eyes because it was supposed to be a reason Yumna falls for him as she had a fetish for eyes. Yumna herself has the dark brown / black eyes that is the most common colour in our desi culture & we love & own it.

If I give explanation for character's facial features, there will be acne, blemishes, dark spots & all because this is what reality is. This is how everyone is. This is how we are.

My focus is the character & nature of the characters in my stories. In character aesthetics you won't find facial descriptions. I don't mean to make anyone feel bad, your story your choice. My story My choice.

I love you all & you all are pretty. Don't let anyone make you think otherwise.
Also, don't think that Yumna's love for his eyes ends here. It is there and will always be there, but as they say, love alone isn't enough without respect, responsibility & compromise in a marriage.
Lecture ends. Sorry for it.🥲

Yumna locked the door and moved towards the bed, almost tripping over the cushions. She glanced at him who was sleeping peacefully.  She looked at his closed eyes and Hoor's words rang in her ears, forming a smile on her lips.
"Waisy tujhay bas logo ki ankhen dekhne ka shoq hai. Apne bande ki toh sotay huy bhi tu uski ankhen dekha kregi."
Hoor laughed thinking how would it look if Yumna opened her husband's eyes with her finger while he was sleeping because her craze and love for eyes was too much. Yumna glared at her.
"Ab asa bhi nahi hai."
Although deep in her heart, she knew what Hoor said was a truth.

She placed her hand on his shoulder and shook him a little to wake him up. She decided not to look into his eyes & melt because he really needed a lesson on cleaning his room & waking up on time.
He didn't budge.

"Hadeed." She whispered while shaking him again & he opened his eyes again.
With half open eyes, he saw her in a green dress but he wasn't sure if it was a dream or No. He closed his eyes again, pissing Yumna Off.

"Dr Sahiba ab to aap khwabon me bhi nazarvane lagi hain."

(Dr. Now you're coming even in my dreams.)

He mumbled & Yumna blushed but immediately scolded her heart. It was not the right time to blush.
"Hadeed." She whispered yelled & shook him hard & he opened his eyes, squinting at her. He looked at her for a second and next second grabbed her hand and pulled her, resulting in her falling over him on the bed. Yumna's mouth gaped open as she raised her eyes to look at him. Their faces were too close.

"You smell like Vanilla. Itni haseen subah pehli bar hui hai zindagi me." Hadeed nuzzled  his nose in her neck.

(...I am having such beautiful morning for the first time in my life.)

"I don't smell like Vanilla, Hadeed. I am using a Vanilla scented perfume."
She whispered & tried to get out of his grip but he wasn't willing. She bit his hand. He immediately left her feeling a pain on his hand due to her teeth, and Yumna quickly stood up from the bed with a red face. Hadeed glared at her & she raised her eyebrows.
"Thanks for the love bite." His glare changed into a smirk while Yumna frowned angrily. Oh how much he loved teasing her.

"Go and take a shower, clean your room and come out."
She ordered, glaring at him & ignored his previous comment . Hadeed's smile widened when she ignored his comment & he stood up from the bed and took steps towards her who moved backwards.
"Mery Pass mat ayen. Subah uth kr Sabse pehle daant saaf krty hain warna germs ki waja se banda bemaar hojata hai. Safai ka khyal rakha kren, it's not good for health to live like this. It is so unhygienic Hadeed."

(Don't come near me. First of all you brush your teeth when you wake up in morning otherwise a person gets ill because of germs. Take care of cleaning...)

She started her lecture & Hadeed rolled his eyes. Will he have to listen to such lectures on daily basis? He decided to say something & took a deep breath.
"Aap meri baat sunen." He turned serious & Yumna thanked Allah he turned serious & nodded but his next words made her clench her hands into fists.

(You listen to me.)

"Ghussay me apke moo se mera naam bht haseen lagta hai."

(My name looks very beautiful from your mouth in anger.)

He winked and ran towards the washroom to freshen up, before she threw something at him, leaving a fuming Yumna behind. She looked around his room & decided to clean it a bit before he was back.

——————

20 minutes later, the door opened & Hadeed appeared, wearing a white Shalwar Kameez. His hair were on his forehead and water was dripping from his forehead. He winked once again at Yumna &  started brushing his hairs while Yumna scowled at him. He put the brush back & stood in front of her who was sitting. He held her arm and made her stand up. Yumna looked at him.

"Dr sahiba, ab to daant brush krliye hai. Ab to aa sakta hun na pass." He teased her raising his eyebrows & giving a small smile. He put his one arm around her waist and with other he stroked her chin.

(Dr. I have brushed my teeth. Now I can come near you, right?)

"Tharki." Yumna mumbled but it was loud enough for him to hear & his smile wept off. He left her. (Creep.)

<I am not exactly sure about English word for it. Tharki is someone who falls for like every person of the opposite gender. You know something like lust.>

" Aaj ke baad se me apke moo se ye lafz na sunu apne lye. Biwi hain aap meri. Koi gher nahi. Soch samajh kr bola kren."

( I don't want to hear this word from your mouth for me again. You're my wife. Not a stranger. Think before speaking.)

He said sternly while glaring at her who was looking down at her feet, quietly listening to his scolding. He  turned back & went to the dressing table. He took his watch & was wearing it when his eyes fell on her who was standing still with her eyes down.
'Itne se hi dr sahiba ki bolti band hgyi. Chal Hadeed, moqa hai, thora aur tang karle, ab pyar se toh tang kar nahi sakta, tharki samajhne lagti hain, toh phr ghussa hi dekh len mera.'

(Cat got Dr.'s tongue in this much only. Go Hadeed, you've a chance. Tease her more. Now I can't tease her with love, she thinks of it as lust. Then she can see my anger now.)

He only teased her this way, not every female. He was only for her & what she said was not acceptable for him. He respected her & adored her while she called it tharak? Lust?
He didn't want to scold her anymore but he decided to go for it.
"I am so—"
"Ab yahan kiu khari hain? Jaiyye Ja kar apna kam kren, subha subha neend bhi kharab krdi."

(Why are you standing here now? Go and do you your work. Ruined my sleep early in the morning)

Yumna flinched since she was  about to apologize & the room was full of silence & he suddenly spoke, scaring her. She frowned at subha subha. She woke him up at like 1 pm & it was subha subha ?  She clenched her hands into a fist when she registered his words. Did he mean she disturbed him by coming? She was coming to his house first time after their Nikkah & he didn't like it? She knew she was wrong for what she called him but what he was saying now was not her mistake.
(Subha subha means early morning.)

Hadeed glanced at her who was still standing there. He moved towards her and stood in front of her.
"Sunai nahi de—"
He was cut off by Yumna who raised her head and spoke.

(Can't you liste—)

"De raha hai sunai. Aap asan alfaz me mjhy kehna chah rhy hain ke main chali jaun yahan se, main nikkah ke baad pehli baar apke ghar ayi, apse milne ayi, apke lye tayyar hui likin aap kis tareeky se baat krrhy hain. Direct bolden ke dafa hojaun and Ainda apko apni shakal na dekhaun. Nahi aungi ainda. Ap soyen, akhir Dupeher ke 1 bajy apki subha subha ki neend jo kharab krdi maine."

(I can hear. In easy words you're trying to say that I go away from here. I came to your home first time after Nikkah, came to meet you, got ready for you but you're talking in which way. Just direct ask me to fucK off and never show you my face again. I won't come again. You sleep. Afterall, I disturbed your early morning sleep by waking you up at 1 pm.)

She was looking here and there all the time, because neither did she want to melt looking into his eyes, nor did she want to cry. She glanced at him one last time & left the room. Hadeed stayed there, registering her words. He realized she didn't say anything about what he said earlier, she only didn't like what he said later. He sighed & looked around. His clean room smelled of Vanilla now. He smiled and opened his mobile.

"Don't let your bhabhi go home." He texted his sister & went to his parent's room to give his salam. It was his habit to meet his mom after waking up. Even if it meant 1 pm. He knew she would be pissed & he was going to be scolded. Since it was sunday, his dad would be there too which means he was going to be scolded badly by him too.
