1 week later
"Be back before the ceremony tonight, Lyn!" Tía yells as I walk towards the front door
"Will do!! Te amo, Tía!" I yell back, closing the door with a smile
I walk around the town. People yelling out for those who pass by to buy from their markets, little children running around together, musicians give rhythm to the morning. I place some money in the hat near a group of townsfolk playing a beautiful song and smile.
Continuing my walk, I notice the Madrigals
"See, Tío Félix married Pepa and my dad married Julieta, that's how Abuela became an abuela Madrigal! Lets go, let's go!~" Maribel sings
I smile at the family and get a small wave from Mariel herself before Abuela talks about how the family plans to use their gifts to help the whole town. The children ask more and more questions, causing Maribel to sing about ever member if her family.
After she leaves to sing about her 2 sisters, I walk over to Dolores
"So does the town break into song every day orrrr?" I joke
"It feels like it at this point, but today the kids had coffee and were exceptionally curious" Dolores laughs
"You." Camilo walks over with a squint in their eyes
"Me." I smirk, brining out faces slightly closer
He stares at me with a scowl before looking over at Dolores "When are we getting rid of them?"
"You're stuck with me for a year, bozo!" I place my hands on my hips with a smile
"Oh Dios mío this year is going to be terrible" They rolls his eyes with a groan
"It's not going to be terrible you're so dramatic. Antonio gets his gift today, that's not terrible!" Dolores starts walking towards the house and we follow her
"Anything can be terrible if Lyn is here" Camilo crosses their arms
"Damn just say you're in love with me already" I smile and run off next to Dolores, leaving Camilo standing there
"Ohhhh you shouldn't have said that" Dolores says as I walk up to her
"Why not? It seemed to work pretty well" I lean against the wall
"I know my brother well, they're not gonna leave you alone. He's gonna do anything in their little grimy hands to get under your skin"
"I can handle it, I know how it fight my battles"
"You don't understand..you know what? I'm just gonna leave it. You'll see eventually"
"See what?" I give a confused face and turn back to the person in question, of which was giving me a smug smirk
"I do not like that smug smirk of his" I turn back to Dolores
"No body does, I can't count the amount of times I've almost smacked him because of it"

Me and Tía María made our way towards the Madrigal casita. I was a wearing a white button up shirt tucked into red, orange, and yellow layered skirt. My red hair was held back on both sides with a tulip pin. My lips were painted with a black lipsticks, and I had painted my nails as well.
I wanted to look my best for Antonio's special day, thankful that I was here for such a special event
"Bonitas!! Welcome, welcome" Camilo welcomes us, shape shifting into my Tía and shaking his hand
"Good to see you, Lyn" He holds out his hand for me to take and I do so with a questionable look
He takes my hand and carefully brings it up to his lips, placing a kiss upon it. I yank my hand away after he does so and he looks at me with a smirk.
"What the hell?" I say, trying my best not to make much of a scene
"Just appreciating your beauty, mi tulipán" He references the tulip pin in my hair
"Cállate, lover boy" I walk into the house, not bothering to look back at him
My cheeks were red with anger
So that's what Dolores meant when she said Camilo would be getting under my skin I think as I look around the house for Dolores herself
"Dolores! Get your ass over here" I say, yanking her behind a pillar to hide from the crowd
"Oh hey Lyn! You okay?"
"Did you hear what Camilo just said to me??" I ask with anger
"No? I wasn't paying attention, Abuela was getting me to make last minute changes. What happened?" She asks, now focused on the drama
"Well first off, he fucking kissed my fucking hand. And then he continued to call me "his tulip" because I have a tulip pin in my hair"
"I did tell you he was gonna get back at you, didn't I?" She smiled
"By flirting??" I almost yell
"It obviously pisses you off. He's good at figuring people out, and he realized what would get to you" She crosses her arms
"That fucking puta.." I mumble
"Forget about him, Lyn. Don't let him win. Focus on the night! It's gonna be awesome, and the ceremony is gonna be starting soon"
"You're right, talk after the ceremony?" I suggest
"Definitely, see ya later!"
After relaxing a bit and trying to forget about the odd welcome from Camilo, the ceremony had begun. Abuela had gone through the story of the candle, a story that I had only heard from my Tía.
I, along with everyone else in the room, watched eagerly to see what gift young Antonio would get. I had thankfully gotten a spot where I could see Antonio clearly, right next to the Madrigal family themselves.
Antonio slowly brings his hand towards the doorknob and I watch in awe as the door magically gives itself a design, one filled with animals. A bird flies into casita, landing on Antonio's arm. He seems to be able to speak with it, and that's when I realized his gift was the ability to talk to animals.
Suddenly a wave of animals run into the home and I smile at my Tía as a parrot lands on my shoulder.
"We have a new gift!" Abuela Alma says happily and everyone cheers, including me
Everyone rushes into Antonio's room, me falling behind since I didn't realize that was something everyone did. I walked into the room to be met with a jungle.
Holy shit I knew this house was magical, but I didn't know the rooms could be a whole ass jungle
After everyone, including Antonio himself, was able to explore the room, it was party time. Music played happily and I danced with my Tía.
I was dancing with Pepa, Félix, Antonio, my Tía, and even Abuela joined in. However, everyone's dancing was cut off when Maribel runs in saying the house is in danger.
Looking over at my Tía with a worried look, we all go outside to see what was going on. Only to be met with casita being perfectly fine.
"There is nothing wrong with La Casa Madrigal! The magic is strong, and so are the drinks. Please, music!" Abuela says as everyone pushes it off and goes back to partying
I look at a sad Maribel downstairs. We make eye contact, since I was one of the only ones still outside of Antonio's room now.
I give her a sad smile and mouth "I believe you" before going back to party
As I walk back in I run into Mr. Lover boy
"Oh hello there" He smirks
"What do you want, puta?" I cross my arms
"Woah woah, what's with the language? I'm simply just greeting my friend"
"Friend? This morning you literally said, and I quote, that 'Anything can be terrible if Lyn is here'" I deadpan
"I'm a changed man! Te adoro, Lyn Bonita" He grabs my shoulders
"Go back to insulting me before I throw up" I grab his wrists and take them off of me
"So what I'm hearing is that you'd rather me insult you and wish you were dead then me telling you how beautiful you are and how your brown eyes shine in the daylight like sweet honey. And that your voice is like a sweet melody that I never want to stop playing, mi amour~" He says, getting closer to my ear with every word until his whispers the last of it
With wide eyes I sigh
You can't let him win
"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying, Camilo" I say with no expression
His smug face turns into a confused one
"What? Didn't expect your little plan to work?" I laugh "Nothing breaks me, Camilo, nothing. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm pretty sure your sister wanted to speak with me. Bye bye!"
With a smirk I walk away from a dumbfounded Camilo. Victory tastes sweet. Maybe as sweet as that "sWeEt HoNeY" that he was talking about. What cliche romance book did he get that from.
