In which Lui and Shu reprise their roles as trolls and as reactors, and they even answer some questions from loyal Bey Fans!
-----
Lui: "What, you mean Lodin Haijima? Well, okay. First of all, I completely forgot he even existed until you mentioned him, so that ought to tell you a thing or two on its own."
Lui: "His Bey is Luinor, but that's where the similarities between us end. He's forgettable, a weak Blader, and he should have just stuck to the decathlons. After all, he's a grown man who lost in Beyblade to a little kid."
Shu: "Um. Lui? Lodin was exactly Dante's age when they faced off."
Lui: "EXCUSE ME?"
Shu: "And as ashamed as I am to say it, Snow, my- my fear of dogs hasn't gotten any better. I still can't be around them without my breaths coming up short and my whole body shaking. I... I want to get some help from a professional to deal with this, but it's just not the right time."
Lui: "Hm. Interesting conundrum, I can't tell if they're a fangirl for Daigo or for you. All I know is that the usage of "baka" and "-kun" is kinda cringe."
Shu: "It's honestly a little bit endearing, though. Funny, and semi-well intentioned."
Wakiya, off-screen: "I DOUBT THEY DESERVE TO BE CALLED FUNNY FOR CALLING ME AN IDIOT!"
Lui: "Of course I know the origin of my Bey's name. Only a sorry, moronic excuse of a Blader wouldn't research their Bey to the extremes."
Lui: "Although, Longinus is the name this Bey model was given in Japan. I got mine during my stay in the States, so it's actually called Luinor. I will admit, the origin of it is a little harder to pin down, but the name itself either means "cold-blooded dragon," "dragon of pain," or "dragon living in a nightmare." Depends on what you're translating it from, I believe."
Shu: "Though he could have phrased it a little kinder, Lui does have a point. It pays off to learn everything you can about your Bey."
Shu: "A Spriggan is a legendary, spirit-based creature of Cornish fairy lore. They were apparently mischievous spirits that caused all kinds of trouble for folks. During my stay in the States, I learned that the American name for Spriggan's model was "Spryzen," which seems to unanimously mean "spirit of fire."
(Dani: -Dabs- "This was more complicated to answer than I initially thought it would be. This timeline I've created is now super complex.")
Shu: "Nah, it's not all that weird. I feel sad for you, though- like Honcho and I said, s'mores are a bit of heaven on earth."
Lui: "I think it's weird. And in regards to NightmareLuna not liking them, I'd say you could fix that if only you'd put a little relish on your s'mores."
Shu: "No?? That's so gross, Lui, you're the only person in the world who can tolerate that nasty mess."
Lui: "Those are fightin' words, Kurenai."
Lui: "You're not keen on beating around the bush, are you? Alright, uh, well. I think Shu and I are acquaintances, at the very least."
Shu: "I'd say that, if not slightly awkward companions. Ever since Valt and my friends went back to their teams across the world, I've been homebound and re-evaluating my past decisions and motivations. So... It's really only natural that I decide to let my grudge against Lui go. We're even now, and I can't go on keeping scores if I ever want to find peace, anyway."
Lui: "In my case, the decision to change was inspired by what I'd realized at the International Blader's Cup and by realizing I wanted to be a better person to make my parents proud. Especially when they came back home to be here for me."
Lui:
Lui: "I'd, um, elaborate further, but I don't want to."
Lui: "And I dunno about that platonic soulmates business, but I think I can safely say that Gabe's a friend."
Shu: "I think I'd be comfortable describing Valt as a platonic soulmate. He's been my best friend for so long now, and I absolutely believe we'll go on being friends until the end of our days."
Lui: "You know the wiki isn't infallible, right? It's written by fans, not by the creators. And those fans can make the wiki say whatever they want it to."
Lui: "Now, it being based on a Valkyrie is a good reason to believe Valtryek could be a female spirit, but it's not definitive. After all, by that logic, you should also correct the following headcanon that Luinor is a girl, telling the author that it was based on the Roman soldier, Longinus, and has to be a boy spirit. (Yet you didn't, which is veeery interesting to me.)"
Shu: "And, like the passage above says, Valtryek's voice in the English dub is clearly male. If it were a sort of conundrum like Gwyn Reynolds where Valtryek was meant to be female but the idea was scrapped, I think they'd still press on and give him a feminine-leaning voice like they did for Gwyn."
Shu: "If they did do so in the Japanese dub, I'd be more inclined to change my leaning on this."
Lui: "This, I'm guessing, is a more direct prompt to try and get us to declare our undying love for each other."
Shu: "Dang, I'm really sad that I have to let that Lenny face down. I'm not pining for anyone at the moment, I'm afraid."
Lui: "... Um, yeah. Same here."
Lui: "Hey! I am in no way a bottom, are you out of your mind?"
Shu: "And I'm not taken by anyone, least of all Valt. He's like a little brother to me and I could never be romantically involved with him, it would be too weird."
Lui, muttering: "I'm a top like whip cream."
Lui: "Ohhh, there are so many problems with this one."
Shu: "First being that which you can't see- they didn't even leave this comment on the right story part. For some reason, they left it on the most recent update and said nothing about the actual art displayed in it. They just dove right in to their displeasure with a previous part."
Shu: "And the way they went about it is so rude! Was it really necessary to shout "WAKIYA WILL BE RAPUNZEL!!!!"? Was it necessary to be so pushy about what is solely your opinion?"
Lui: "How in the world could Wakiya and Rapunzel be considered similar? Rapunzel is a sweet, spirited girl who just wants to see the floating lights and have some freedom. Wakiya is an ass who wants people to grovel at his feet."
Shu: "Be nice, Lui!"
Lui: "But how is Maximus dissimilar to Wakiya? They're both smug, they both fight and bicker with someone they begrudgingly become friends with, and to satisfy the demands of this user, they both have blond hair. Boom."
Lui: "I'd also elaborate how Shu is a better match to Rapunzel, but the author already did so rather succinctly."
Shu: "The main point is that they really should have just commented on the proper part, and chosen their words more carefully. Maybe something like, "I've always seen Wakiya as Rapunzel personally, but I absolutely respect you making her Shu instead!"
Lui: "Better yet, don't say anything at all."
