Elena walked inside the Salvatore boarding house, she saw Rebekah in the middle of the living room
"You wanted to talk to me" Elena said
Rebekah ignored the girl
"Come out girls! Have at it"
Five girls appeared in front of Rebekah and Elena, each one was wearing a different dress
"Okay, now twirl, please"
The girls did exactly what she told them to do
"You compelled your own private runaway show?" Elena asked not believing in what she was seeing
"I need a homecoming dress. So which dress do you pick?"
Elena crossed her arms in front of her chest
"I'm not here to help you shop. I'm here to talk about why don't you want me to wake Mikael up"
Rebekah, angry at the girl's disrespect towards her, sped to the girl who was wearing the blue dress, and showed her vampire face
"I said pick one, Elena"
"The red one!" Elena said quickly
"Wasn't so hard, was it?" She then turned to the girls "Go away. Remember nothing"
They walked away from the two girls
"You do not threaten me. You will learn what I allow you to learn. Is that clear?"

"How fun is this?" Rebekah asked
They were now in Stefan's room
"We shouldn't be here"
"Of course we should. Come on, like you have never wanted to snoop"
"Are you going to root through stuff all night or are you going to start telling me your story?"
"You really are no fun" Rebekah let out a sigh "What do you want to know?"
"Well, Elijah said your father was a landowner in Europe. How did you guys end up here?" The doppelgänger asked
Rebekah picked up a piece of paper before answering her question
"My parents had just started a family when a plague struck their homeland. They lost a child to it. They wanted to escape it and protect their future family from the same fate"
"So, how did you end up here as part of the world hadn't been discovered yet?" The Gilbert girl asked
"Not by anyone in your history books" Rebekah chuckled "But my mother knew the witch Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land, where everyone was healthy. Blessed by the gift of speed and strength. That led my family here. Where we lived amongst those people"
"The werewolves?" Elena asked understanding what the girl was telling her
Rebekah went to another table in Stefan's room and start messing with his things again
"To us, they were just our neighbors. My family lived in peace with them for over 20 years, during which time my family had more children, including me"
Elena couldn't stop herself before asking her next question. Stella was someone who always intrigued her very much. The doppelgänger wanted to know more about her
"What about Stella's family? Were they also werewolves?"
Rebekah shook her head
"No, Stella's family was just like mine. They were humans, well, sort of" Elena furrowed her brows in confusion "Her mother was a witch"
That explains why Stella is also one
"Her mother, just like mine, heard about the same land where she could raise her kids safely. They arrived here after us, but we quickly became friends" Rebekah smiled at the memory "However, her mother was one of a kind. She was indeed powerful"
"You make it sound so normal. Werewolves. Witches. Does that not fright you?"
"It was normal. Once a month, my family and Stella's retreated to the caves beneath our village. The wolves would howl through the night and by morning, we would return home"

Rebekah saw the necklace standing by the window, enchanted by its beauty, she tried to pick it up. Unfortunately, instead, it burned her
"Ayana, you burned me" She complained to the witch by her side
"That is not yours to touch"
They heard a scream from outside the house
"Is that Niklaus? Something is wrong" Rebekah said before running out of the house
Niklaus came running to the house carrying Henrik on his arms. Stella, who was cooking, also heard the screams for help, she came out of her house and ran to the neighbors
"Henrik!" Rebekah screamed
The now Mikaelson girl ran to them. The moment Stella saw the body of the youngest of her new family on the floor full of blood, she started to cry. Stella was now in shock of the image in front of her
"Mother!" Niklaus yelled again

"One full moon, Klaus and my youngest brother snuck out to watch the men turn into beasts. That was forbidden" Rebekah told Elena "Henrik paid the price"

Elijah came running to his brother, just like their mother Esther. They all kneeled to the ground
"Henrik, no. No! What happened?" She asked
"The wolves" The Blond said and start crying as well "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry"
"Please, there must be a way to save him" Esther pleaded to the witch, Ayana
"The spirits will not give us a way, Esther. Your boy is gone"
The moment Stella heard this, she ran to her husband who hugged her as tight as he could. He rested his head on her neck, making the girl feel the tears coming out of his eyes. Stella, trying to calm him down, kissed his head making the man bring her even more closer to him than before

"And that was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors" Rebekah finally turned to the doppelgänger "And one of the last moments my family had together as humans"
Elena's phone start ringing, making Rebekah compose herself
"You better get that. That'll be Damon checking up on you"
She picked up and music start being heard
"Where are you?" She asked
"No idea, but I'm pretty sure I'm overdressed. Still standing?" He asked
"Yes, I'm fine, but I can't talk right now"
"Be at the bar" A different voice said this time
Elena's eye became wide
"Is that......Stefan?"
"And Stella" Another voice said
Rebekah smirked at her best friend's voice
"Damon, how could you let them out?!" Elena exclaimed really upset about the fact that Damon went behind her back
She heard a noise, probably because Stella, roughly, took the phone out of Damon's hand
"Hello, little blood bag. How are you doing? I hope badly. I just want to say that I didn't liked the fact that you made a plan behind my back to torture me. Well, I don't like being betrayed. But we talk more when I get home" She smirked "Oh, may you tell Roman to run. His grave is already being digger"
"Ok, Original-Witchy, your time is out" he took the phone from her "I've got this, Elena"

"Did you get your fill of snooping yet? Can we go back to the story?" Elena asked as Rebekah was laying on Stefan's bed ready one of his diaries
Rebekah got up and picked a photo of Stefan and Elena
"Honestly, I don't get you two as a couple"
"Why would you? You don't know anything about who he really is"
Rebekah got close to her
"I know exactly who he is. He's a vampire. We're a predatory species, we don't have time to care about humans and their silly little lives" Rebekah scoffed "I don't see the sparkle between you two. It's not true love. Believe me, I have seen it before"
"Oh, really then tell me, Rebekah. What is real love to you?"
"What Elijah and Stella have"
"Wanting to kill one another?" Elena asked
The Original rolled her eyes
"Who told you that hideous lie?"
Elena got up from the chair she was sitting in
"Well, for the way Stella didn't cared about Elijah being daggered when I first met her, and the fact that Elijah seemed like he wanted to kill Stella when he saw her again, I pretty much assumed that they wanted to kill each other"
The blonde let a small smile appear on her face
"You don't get, do you, Elena?" Rebekah took a deep breath "They can fight like dog and cat, but in the of the day, they will always go back to each other's arms. They spent years and years together, I've watched as their love for each other grew more and more every day"
Elena looked down in thought. What Rebekah was describing was the love stories of movies and books, very different from reality
"They do not want to kill each other. These two are just so stubborn to apologizes and reconcile their relationship. But I can assure you one thing, Elijah looked for Stella for 190 years, now that he found her, he will never let her go" The Blonde smiled "That is what really love is, Elena. Very different from you and Stefan"
Elena closed her eyes trying to not let her comment affect her
"You know what? If you are going to insult my relationship, I'm just going to go" The doppelgänger turned around ready to leave, when the Original stopped her
"Haven't even had half of the story"
Elena turned back around
"And you're not going to tell it. You're just bored and looking for someone to push around" Rebekah looked down "Find someone else to play with. Maybe you can compel yourself a friend"
The brunette start walking to the door
"The necklace wasn't Stefan's to give" Rebekah fell on the doppelgänger's plan "It belonged to the Original witch"
The Gilbert girl turned her head to the Mikaelson
"The one who put the Hybrid curse on Klaus?"
"Not just on Klaus, on Stella too" Rebekah admitted "She's the one who turned us into vampires"
A memory of the conversation between her parents and Ayana came back into her mind. Rebekah shook it off
"I'm thirsty, do you want a drink?"
Both girl got out of Stefan's room and start heading downstairs to the living room. While climbing down the stairs, Elena continued to ask questions
"So, vampirism was a form of protection?"
"What else would it be?"
"A curse" Elena quickly answered
"My parents only way of keeping their children alive"
"Yeah, but why stay, if they were so afraid of the werewolves. Why not leave?"
Rebekah had a quick answer to that question. Something that runs in the family
"Pride" She turned the doppelgänger "My father didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to fight and be superior to the wolves. When they could bite, we had to bite harder. When they had sped, we had to be faster. Agility. Strength. Senses"
They start walking again, finally heading to the living room
"My father left the decision on my mother's hands" Rebekah said
"In her hands? How could she do anything?" The doppelgänger asked
"Because my mother was also a witch"
"What?"
"The witch of the Original family. The Original Witch"

"Where do they keep their best vintage?" Rebekah asked as the girls entered the living room of the Salvatore Boarding house
"If your mother was a witch, then......"
The blonde interrupted her
"Am I? No. A witch is nature's servant, a vampire is an abomination of nature. You can either be one or the other. Never both"
Rebekah smirked as she already knew Elena's next question
"But Stella is both. How?"
"Stella was family. By the time Henrik died, she was already married to my brother. Furthermore, my mother always had a fascination towards her, she could never let Stella die" Rebekah looked sad "In turning us, my mother angered the spirits. But, by turning Stella, she made them despite her. So, trying to erase the hate on her, my mother made a decision........"
"She put a curse on Stella" Elena concluded
"Precisely"

"What do you expect on doing to Stella, Esther?" Ayana asked while looking at the woman doing spells
Esther didn't answered, instead staying there, with her back turned to the witch, trying to focus on the task that was trusted to her
"You cannot touch the girl. The spirits, they would kill you"
"The girl is family" Esther finally answered "She is my son's wife and basically my daughter. I know what I'm doing, Ayana"
"No, no you don't" Ayana got close to Esther "She will be an abomination. Esther, she will lose all her power to become an abomination. Emerald will not allow it"
Esther scoffed
"Who told you Emerald will know about any of this?"
The look on Ayana's face was of surprise
"Esther, you cannot fight the power of Emerald. We both know that. Do not upset her by touching her daughter" Esther shook her head "Stella is Emerald's daughter. Not yours"
The Mikaelson closed her eyes and took a deep breath
"I love her like one"
"I know you do, but this is too much"
Esther finally turned to the other witch
"What about my Elijah? What will happen to him after knowing that he could not be forever with his wife? They love each other so dearly. I'm sorry, Ayana, but I've to do this"
"You're being selfish, Esther. Do you forget that you have already hurt that couple?"
Esther's eyes became wide as she looked down at the floor, memories consuming her mind of the horrendous thing she did
"I had to do it, you know that, Ayana"
"Do whatever you want, just know that the moment your so called 'daughter' finds out what you did....." Ayana got close to the blonde woman "She will hate you.......forever"
They just didn't knew that Rebekah was listening to their conversation, wondering what could be so bad that her best friend would hate her mother

"My mother did this for us, she did not turn" Rebekah picked a bottle of wine "Instead, she turned Stella and, just like the other witch predicted, made the spirits hate her. Stella was who paid the price"
"How did you turn?" Elena asked
"She called upon the Sun for life and the ancient white oak tree, one of nature's eternal objects, for immortality" Rebekah let out a sigh "That night, my father offered us wine laced with blood.....and then he drove his sword through our hearts"
Elena had a look of disbelief on her face
"He killed you?"
"And he wasn't delicate about it either"

Stella woke up in a gasp. She looked around and saw that the others were waking up too. The brunette looked down at her dress and saw that it was stained with blood
She looked at her side and saw that her hand was still interlocked with Elijah's. She start shaking him
"Elijah?! Please, wake up!" She said as tears start gathering themselves in her eyes
The man in question woke up in a gasp, just like Stella herself. She quickly hugged him
"I thought you had died" He whispered now touching her face trying to mesmerize every detail "I saw my father droving his sword towards your heart"
"Shh. It's okay, I'm here now" She said and kissed his head
Mikael entered the house with a girl following him. He kneeled before Rebekah and Niklaus, who were on the other side of the room, and opened a wound on the girl's wrist. Stella gasped, but Elijah quickly brought her closer to him to comfort her
"Drink!" Mikael said
"No!" Stella and Niklaus tried to save Rebekah from her fate
"Drink!" Mikael said again this time more like an order
Rebekah, drove by hunger, start drinking the girl's blood

"It was euphoric, the feeling of power is indescribable" Rebekah said "But the witch Ayana was right about the consequences. The spirits turned on us and fought back. For every strength there would be a weakness. The Sun became our enemy, it kept us indoors for weeks, and then my mother found a solution. There are other problems. Neighbors, who had opened their homes to us, could now keep us out. Flowers at the base of the white oak burned and prevented compulsion. And the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life, could also take it away"
The blonde looked sad on admitting everything to Elena
"So, we burned it to the ground"

Stella was just behind Elijah while watching the burning of the tree that gave them life. She looked behind her and saw Rebekah. She knew how the girl was sad that she was now forbidden of doing certain things

"But the darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated. The hunger. Blood had made us reborn, and it was blood that we craved above everything else. We could not control it"
"What about Stella? Her hunger would have been stronger than yours"
"No, not at the beginning at least. Stella was just like us, but then our mother cursed her"
"I know for a fact that if Stella doesn't feed, then she doesn't have magic to use. If she feeds, then her hunger is unstoppable"
Rebekah rolled her eyes
"That is not the curse, Elena"
Now it was the doppelgänger who held a confused look on her face
"Stella is this kind, emotional, emphatic person. The curse is not the fact that she can't use magic without feed on human blood. The curse is the fact that no matter what she does, no matter how much control she has, she will always sin. She will always feed, and every time she does, the guilt, the sadness, the grieve......it will consume her. That is her curse for eternity, hunt by a hunger that destroys her humanity"
"Everyone speaks so highly of her" Elena commented
"You will find out that almost everyone has a debt towards Stella. She is an angel with a curse that turns her into a demon. As for my family, we all need her" Rebekah smiled softly "Stella is the heart of our family, without her, we would never be complete"

"Why did Mikael start hunting Klaus?"
"When Nik made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf gene, but with that he became my father's greatest shame" Rebekah explained
"Yeah, Elijah told me this part of the story. Your mother had had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. Klaus wasn't his son"
"She tried to make it right, she put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side and, for consequence, cursed Stella and then she turned her back on them. But Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride, as a vampire that was magnified. He went on a rampage and killed half the village" she turned to Elena "Including Stella's father, Sebastian"
"Why did he do that?"
"Revenge. Stella fought him when he tried to hurt Nik. He didn't liked being disrespected, so out of rage he killed her father, who, at some point, was also his best friend" Rebekah almost could hear the screams of her best friend when she found her father dead inside their old house "But he didn't stopped. He came back home and killed my mother"
"Mikael killed your mother?" Elena said in disbelief
"He said she broke his heart, so he would break hers" She turned to Elena "He tore it from her chest as Nik watched"
"Afterwards, my father took off in a rage and the rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say goodbye to my mother"

"I know you think she hated you, Niklaus, but she did not" Rebekah cried as she saw her brother burying their mother "She was just afraid. I'm sorry she turned her back on you, I will never do that"
Niklaus still looked down at his mother's grave
"Nor will we" They heard
Elijah and Stella approached them hand-in-hand. It has been some days since Esther casted the curse on Stella, the poor girl has been with her husband since then trying to control her hunger
"We stick together as one" Rebekah said
The four of them held their hands together
"Always and Forever" Stella said the vow that will hunt them for all eternity

"Always and Forever? Even though he locked you in a coffin for ninety years?" Elena asked
"We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah's moral, Stella is compassionate and courageous, and Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family, we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times"
"But you still love him?"
"He's my brother and I'm immortal. Should I spend an eternity alone instead?"
Elena could see the vulnerability in Rebekah's eyes. The Original took a deep breath and start walking to the door
"You have heard the story. It's time to go" Elena didn't moved "I said leave, Elena. I don't what you're up to, but I am no longer playing around"
"I'm just looking for one good reason why we shouldn't wake Mikael"
"And I gave you a thousand, but you will anyway. I know you want him to help you kill my brother. I'm not stupid"
"It's no secret that I want Klaus dead. He has a hold over Stefan's life. And over mine" Elena said
"Do what you need. Wake Mikael at your own risk. But make no mistake. If you come over my brother, I will rip you apart. And I get my temper from my father. Now leave!"

"I thought I told you to leave. Twice" Rebekah said as Elena walked inside the house again
"How do you know that Mikael killed your mother?" The doppelgänger asked
"Nik was there. He told me"
"He lied to you"
"And how do you know that?"
"The cave where you carved your family's names is covered in symbols, the story about your family, how your parents arrived, how they made peace, the spell that turn you into vampires, and this" She pointed to a symbol in one of the pictures she took "This one means hybrid. It's the combination of the werewolf and the vampire symbol"
Elena took yet another picture and put it in front of Rebekah
"This is the one for your mother"
"The necklace" Rebekah whispered
"And this is the story of her death" she showed the Original another picture "The hybrid killed the Original witch. Not Mikael. Klaus"
"No" Rebekah shook her head "No, he wouldn't"
"She put the curse on him. She put the curse on Stella, his best friend and also the woman who stood up for him. And then she rejected him" Rebekah looked at the floor with a sad expression "With the werewolf gene comes aggression and violence. When he turned, all of that was heightened. He killed her, Rebekah, and then he made up this entire lie about your father so that he wouldn't lose you!"
"These means nothing! They're just stupid drawings. Done by stupid people who had no idea who my family was!" Rebekah yelled and throw the drawings on the fire
"Then why are you so upset?"
"Why are you doing this to me? I've done nothing to you!" Rebekah cried out loud
"Klaus killed your mother. He has a hold on me, on you, on everyone. He has for a thousand years, we have to make him stop!" Elena said "Earlier, you told me Elijah and Stella's love story is the truest thing you've ever saw. Klaus was able to destroy that too, Rebekah!"
"Shut up! Just shut up! Don't talk to me anymore! Nothing!" Rebekah lose it and start yelling. She held Elena by her neck and showed her vampire face
Rebekah took a step back and fell on her knees. The tears coming down of the blonde's eyes were a heartbreaking thing to witness
Klaus had destroyed thousands of lives, maybe it's time for his to be destroyed
