"Okay so here's what I had in mind." Chan began explaining to the kids. "Minjee wakes up around 5 am to go workout so how about we pretend that the group has disbanded or like they're kicking her out before we surprise her."
"Is that too mean??" Han tilted his head.
"We got her family to fly in and also got stays letters so hopefully it makes up for that." Chan said.
"How about we tell her we're just taking a small break?" Changbin suggested.
"Should we say we're going into the military ?" Minho asked.
"Let's just say we're taking a small break." Chan agreed.
- time skip -
You woke up as your alarm rang.
You turned it off and got up before getting ready. You grabbed the camera as the company thought it'd be fun for you to do a birthday vlog and post it for stays.
"Hi stay." You waved as you were half asleep. "It's 5 am so I'll start getting ready for the day." You gave a small smile before going to the kitchen and getting what you needed.
You put on your mask and walked to the gym before setting your bags down.
"I'll start my workout now!" You set the camera down before stretching.
After about an hour of working out you finished and wiped off your sweat.
"I'm going home already. I cant wait to lay in bed and do nothing." You slightly laughed as you left the gym.

"Hello?" You answered the phone
"Minjee can you come down to the meeting room? It's an emergency." Your manager said.
"Huh? But I wasn't supposed to have anything today..." you reminded.
"Yeah I know but it's urgent." She said, panicked.
"I'll be there." You said before hanging up.
"So much for my free day off." You grumbled under your breath.
You walked over to the meeting room where the rest of the members already were. "Oh? What's happening?"
"Sit." Your manager said. You tilted your head but took a seat next to her.
"Okay this may be sudden but..." staff began. "We decided it'd be best if you all take a break."
You all looked at him shocked. "What?" Chan asked. "Why?"
"We feel like it's better if you guys took a break from the idol life..." the staff explained more.
"We're disbanding?" Felix asked.
"Nono. You guys will just be on a small break. No music, dance, performances, all that. You guys can still talk to fans but won't be able to give them any music." Staff added.
"But... why..." Hyunjin trailed off.
"We felt like it was too much. Having Minjee under a different company, managing everything that happened with you guys, jyp having other groups etc." The staff explained.
"For how long..??" Minho looked at the staff.
"About a year minimum." He answered.
"A year?!?" You all looked at him shocked.
He nodded in response. "The companies decided it'd be best." He clapped his hands together. "Meetings over."
He grabbed his papers before walking out the room.
You looked at the door before looking down disappointed.

You guys were all in the practice room hanging out, trying to get your minds off the fact that you'll be taking a full year off. Well, at least you were trying to forget.
At this point, you had gotten more quiet than usual. First the thought of not being able to perform and second the fact that they haven't said anything about your birthday.
They didn't forget right? They did this last year too.
"Guys." You spoke up. They all turned their heads to you. You looked up at them, "you guys know what today is right??" You hesitated.
"Christmas eve." Changbin answered.
You looked at them in disbelief. "A-Ah.." you looked away. "Yeah..." you nodded, nervously laughing.
"Why?" Jeongin looked over at you.
You shook your head. "No nothing. Should we do a live for stay?"
"Oh right! For Christmas!" Jisung clapped.
"Yeah... for Christmas..." you nodded.
After a while you guys started a live.
Stays were wishing you a happy birthday, but with all the other comments, it seems like the boys didn't see any comments.
You bit your lips, trying to stay positive, but that quickly changed when you felt tears coming. You gulped, trying to hold it in but couldn't. You stood up calmly and walked out the room as the others looked at you.
"Is she crying?" Jisung asked worried.
"I think so..." Felix mumbled. Stays all commented feeling bad and worried, while others were angry at the boys for not wishing a happy birthday.
"Okay this looks bad but it's our plan." They all explained the plan.
"We didn't mean to make her cry though, we swear." Chan explained. "We need to get the cake now. I think now is the perfect time."
They all agreed and stood up.
"Call her parents so they can come with us. We'll go with her now." Chan added.
They all stood up and held the camera with them.
"One of us has to go in first." Chan said. "I think if we all go in at once it can be overwhelming."
"I'll go." Seungmin said as he walked into the room.
You were laying on a couch under a blanket that was fortunately there.
"Minjee?" Seungmin quietly said before sitting next to you. "Hey..."
"I know you're crying." He said as he noticed you trying to be quiet. "It's okay."
As soon as he said that, you let it out. He pursed his lips and tried taking the blanket off of your head.
"Minjee let go." He calmly said as you held tightly on the blanket.
You shook your head no.
"Min...please?" He asked.
You slowly uncovered your face but still hid your face with your hands. Not even your hair could help since it was in a messy bun.
He sighed and tried removing your hands but failed.
He looked at you with puppy eyes as he watched you sit up straight.
"I know you feel sad." He began.
"Oh no shit really? What made you think that?" You replied with attitude.
He smiled and brought your head to his shoulder, "I wasn't finished missy."
"I was going to say I know you feel sad but I have something to explain to you." He added.
"If it's bad news just don't say it..." you mumbled as you played with the sleeves of your sweater.
He chuckled and hugged your shoulders. "It's not."
"Is it worse?" You looked up at him.
He laughed and squished your cheeks. "Nope."
"Then what? Nothing can help..." you mumbled as you looked down.
"Nothing?" He asked.
"Nothing." You repeated. "We won't be able to perform for a year... so we won't see stay..." you trailed off as tears came again. "I don't wanna go on hiatus for a year." You sobbed.
"Aye aye it's okay don't cry." Seungmin hugged you.
"And on top of that-" you were gonna mention your birthday.
"Guys come in!" Seungmin said before backing away from you.
You looked up as they walked in with a cake and candles.
"Happy birthday to you~

Happy birthday dear Minjee!!
Happy birthday to you~~~!!!" They all sang before cheering.
You covered your face as you cried again.
"Why why why why?!? Are you crying?!" They all looked at you shocked.
You sniffled as you stood up and wiped your tears. "I thought you forgot..." you mumbled as cried.
"Nooo!!!" They all laughed.
Felix smiled as he wiped your tears. "Stop crying." He laughed, patting your butt.
You sniffled before standing up straight. You walked over and blew the candles out, making them clap.
You clapped along and sat down as they handed you the cake.
"Oh and one more thing." Jeongin began.
You looked up after popping in a chocolate ball from the cake into your mouth. "What?" You asked with your cheek full.
"We aren't going on a break. That was a lie." Chan finished.
You stopped chewing and looked at them dead panned as they laughed. "You lied??" You asked, covering your mouth. "No way."
They all laughed. "We almost forgot..." Chan trailed off. "Eomma! Come in!"
"Your mom is here- EOMMA!!!!" You gasped as you pushed the cake onto the side and ran.
They laughed, watching you jump on your mom.
"Aigoo!! You're an adult already! Why are you jumping on your Eomma?" Your mom teased.
"Please don't." You mumbled as she laughed and hugged you back.
"Your moms back is gonna break." Your dad came in.
"APPA!!" You jumped off your mom and ran to him as everyone laughed. You jumped and hugged him as well as he smiled and hugged you back.
"You're big now! Did you grow more?" He asked looking at you.
"Maybe." You answered. "I think I might be 5'7 now." You said.
"Stop it." He strictly said, causing you all to laugh.
"You're the reason they're going into a retirement home dude." Byeol teased as she walked in.
"You be quiet." You pointed your finger at her as they all laughed.
You smiled and hugged her.
"Happy birthday sis." She patted your back.
"Thank you." You smiled, backing away.
- time skip -
"Here's a small video." The staff said, passing a computer.
You held it before pressing play and placing it on the table.
Stays holding up posters with the words "happy birthday" and "I love you" appeared on the screen.
Your eyes slightly widened but you gave a small smile.
"Hi Minjee! I hope you get to watch this because I wanted to let you know how much you mean, not only to me, but to all of us. I know you go through a hard time every year not being able to see your family but I really hope the boys make it feel like home. Congrats on turning 19! (18) You're an adult already!! Congrats!!!" The stay clapped while smiling before she waved at the camera
"Hi!! Happy birthday Minjee!! We're so glad to see you turn an adult. We can't believe you're already an adult. I'm glad I've been able to see you grow since young! I'm proud of you, congratulations again!" He waved.
"Hi min! First of all happy birthday! We're so glad to see you grow up ever since young. I'm proud of being a stay and I can't wait to see you grow more! Congratulations! We love you!" He made a heart.
"Happy birthday!! We really can't believe you're already an adult! You're only a couple months younger than me so it shocked me to see that you've accomplished so much. I'm very proud of you and I can't wait to see what more you accomplish! Happy birthday!" She waved at the camera.
"Hi Minjee!" A little girl yelled.
"Oh my god!" You gasped as you covered your mouth. "She's a baby!"
"Happy birthday! I'm so happy to see you big! I like your songs and uhmmm... good job!" She held up a thumbs up. "Happy birthday!"
You laughed as you covered your mouth, still shocked to see someone so young.
More stays appeared with their messages from all over the world. Some from Spain, Mexico, Canada, Finland, Japan, Australia, Iceland, and even more.
Suddenly, you saw your hometown friends.
"Hey Minjee!!" They all shouted and smiled. "Congrats on finally turning an adult!"
"We're so happy that you're our friend and we're glad that we've been here for you since young." Jess smiled.
"We really can't believe how far youve come. Thank you for being an amazing friend and we really hope to meet with you again." Jason added.
"You've accomplished a lot so we hope you take a break. Where you are at right now is good. It's never a bad thing to rest a bit. Congratulations on everything you've done. We're really proud of you!" David continued.
"We really hope to see you again and we can't wait for you to come back home so we can spoil you with gifts that we've gathered over the years! Thank you for being such a caring friend and for checking up on us even when you're in a whole different country." Rose finished it off.
"Happy birthday minjee!! We love you!!" They said together and waved at the camera.
You laughed and clapped after it finished. "Ahh..." you smiled before wiping tears. "Thank you..." you gave a small clap as everyone laughed.
"That's it?!?" They all asked, making you laugh.
After a while of calming down you finally spoke again. "Thank you go everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Even to those who didn't end in the video, thank you for even being a stay! I'll work hard to finish more and to make you guys proud! Thank you for the birthday wishes ! I love you!" You said as they all clapped.
"Oh and also. Jess, rose, David, and Jason I'll be back!" You pointed to the camera as everyone laughed.
"I'll be back" Hyunjin and Han imitated you.
"Wait for me!" You added, laughing.
"But really thank you to everyone who gave sweet messages. Thank you for the video too, it really means a lot to me. It's great seeing so many stays from all over the world and of different ages and genders. It shows anyone can enjoy music so thank you ! I'll remember these moments forever ! I'll work harder so I can make you all proud! Thank you!" You gave a small smile and clapped as they all cheered.
