Gabriel was the first to run into the hallway, from where the cries were coming, Nathalie followed him a little slower, still a bit of a wobbly feeling to her legs.
He saw his son kneeling on the floor, Marinette's head on his lap and was patting her cheek, while he sobbed:
"Please M'lady, w-wake u-up. Please, Marinette....I-I...", he looked up, when he heard his father's steps approaching and pleaded:
"Father....c-can you call for help? I'll stay with her for the t-time!"
But Gabriel just shook his head and asked:
"Tell me, what happened first. Did she fall and hit her head or something?"
The boy shook his head.
"She was fine, we were joking around and all of a sudden, she grabbed my arm and then she just....fainted!"
He cried even harder after telling what happened. The designer though patted his back and said with a soft smile:
"Come on, let's take her upstairs and lay her down on the bed. I am very certain, that once her feet will be higher than her head, she will come to!"
"R-Really?", Adrien asked with a tiny smile.
Nathalie had arrived at the spot too now and crouched down beside them, to at least check on the girl's vitals before taking the situation too lightly.
"I think, Gabriel is right. She's breathing evenly, but her pulse is fast but very faint, so it could be a low blood pressure. She should still see a doctor urgently, because she hasn't been to one yet!", the assistant then said.
Nathalie stood back up, thankfully taking the hand, that Gabriel held out to her, then the two men lifted Marinette up from the floor and into Adrien's arms.
"I'm good!", the teenager said, as his father gestured to help him.
"Okay. Just go, I'll open the door for you. But be careful to not hit her head or her legs at the door frame!"
Adrien got furious to that.
"Seriously, father? How stupid do you think I am?", he spat and turned around to stomp towards his bedroom.
Nathalie laid a hand on Gabriel's arm, whispering:
"Relax, he's just worried and agitated", to then follow the young couple humming, "your father didn't mean it that way, Adrien. He just thought you might be as worked up, that you would try to hurry and not notice, because your eyes were just on the woman you love!"
They had reached the hallway, where his room was and the young man stopped, to let Nathalie turn the handle and push the door open for them.
A moment later, he had placed his new girlfriend on the mattress and looked helplessly towards the adults.
Gabriel had listened to his assistant and stayed calm to now step to his son's side and order:
"Lift up her legs, good, just like that. And now, we will place those cushions underneath them, so the blood can get easier to her brain and she will hopefully wake up soon. Natha.....oh you already did. Thank you, love. Adrien, take the damp cloth and place it on her forehead. I'll go and call a doctor anyway. If she will wake up quickly, she can most likely go to the doctor's to for a first check up, but if she'll be unconscious longer, I'd rather not make her get stressed anymore than she already is, okay?"
"Ugh!", the girl suddenly groaned, as she felt the cold water run down her temples and into her left ear.
"MARINETTE!", Adrien shouted, making her flinch. "Sorry", he said soothingly, "I was just so worried!"
She opened her eyes and blinked at him, then tried to sit up, but he shook his head and laid one hand on her shoulder, gently making her stay.
"Don't!", Nathalie now spoke calmly, "you've passed out in the atrium and should stay like this fo a little longer, yeah? How are you feeling?"
The young woman had turned her head towards the voice and whispered:
"Okay. Adrien, don't look so scared, I'm already feeling better. I just.... I remember feeling sick and I didn't want to puke again, because we were having so much fun, so I tried to breathe very flatly. When I had a stomach flu, that often helped me to not throw up. But today....it just.....it made me......kinda dizzy? And then all I know, is that I needed to hold on to something. Then nothing until I just woke up!"
"You were lucky", Gabriel said, "because Adrien caught you. Are you hungry? I will have someone bring you some food. If you still have that vomiting problem, maybe you were suffering from a low blood sugar!"
"I don't know, maybe?", she shrugged.
Nathalie took the word again, as she shortly squeezed the girl's hand:
"I'll go and make a couple of calls, to make sure, you will have an appointment for a complete checkup today. Adrien's driver can bring you both there and wait until you're done to take you back. And please, just try to get some rest now. I'll inform you as soon as I am done!"
"Thank you, Nathalie!", Adrien muttered, while wiping a tear from the corner of his eye.
The woman nodded and walked to the door, when Gabriel caught up with her.
"Wait, I'll go with you. Adrien, go and have someone prepare a little snack for your woman, yeah?", he demanded.
The young man nodded, then turned back to the pale girl in his bed:
"What would you like to eat, purrincess?"
Gabriel had laid an arm around Nathalie's waist and pulled her taut, while nudging her towards their bedroom instead of letting her go back to the office.
"Gabriel, what are you doing? I can't deal with your overprotectiveness now. This is urgent!", the pregnant woman ranted.
"I just want you to get back into bed and then you can deal with how many doctors you like. Just, you are only wearing that robe and nothing underneath. Please, my love, for once don't argue with me and think of your own health too!", Gabriel begged, whiled gently walked her into their bedroom and placed her on top of the duvet, then arranged the cushions, so she could sit with her feet up and reach all her devices.
"For our child, dear, please!", he whispered and kissed her softly.
"Fine!", Nathalie gave in, "but I want you to accompany them to the doctor, as the girl's parents aren't of any use right now!"
Gabriel took a glance at the time and nodded. Then gave the woman he had come to love a gentle kiss and told her, he would do the important things, she had kept him from, in the meantime. He winked and smiled, when Nathalie frowned, making her stick out her tongue, then growl:
"Just go and stop messing with me! I am not in the mood for your crap right now. Go and deal with Audrey, then we'll see, if you're still up to joke around!"
He chuckled and bent down to press his lips on her tiny bump, turning her angry expression instantly into a soft one.
"I love you", he whispered, then glimpsed up into Nathalie's eyes, "and I love you!"
"Just go!", she groaned, then called after him, as he was already reaching for the door:
"I love you. Sorry for being so.....well....you know!"
The designer nodded and smiled lovingly, then left. Nathalie sighed and reached for her phone to call her own doctor and make an appointment for the teenage girl on the very same day.
Luckily she had at her first visit already been there with Gabriel at her side, because now, as she said her name, the woman, who answered the phone knew immediately, that she was the one, having a child with the fashion icon Gabriel Agreste and as she now told her, that his son and his girlfriend were expecting too, she told her, they could come in any time before six o'clock PM.
Nathalie considered getting up and telling the teenagers in person, but remembered that she had promised Gabriel to rest eventually, so she simply send a short text to Adrien's phone and a little longer one to her beloved partner.
The word boyfriend came to her mind and made her giggle, because in her eyes they were both too old to use that term. But still she would like to see his face, if she called him that.
Both Agreste men send her their reply very quickly, Adrien simply texted thank you, while Gabriel, despite the way he had been for years, sent her really cute little love declarations. Nathalie smiled, as she read them, then put her phone on the nightstand and leaned back, to close her eyes for some time. Only a few minutes later, she was fast asleep.
