Maria is laughing with Andromeda as a selective few people sit or dance around the Potter living room. It's around three o'clock in the morning now yet everyone is still going strong, Regulus dancing with Marlene who had dragged him up since Dorcas is way too drunk to stand as she sits between Mary and Peter on one of the sofas, trading some chocolate frog cards. James and Lily are chatting with Lily's parents and Sirius is speaking to Ted, Alice and Frank by a table with a variety of drinks displayed on it. Ted and Andromeda are free from having to watch Nymphadora's every move since she had gone to the Weasleys home for a sleepover.
"And I didn't even realise he had gotten down on one knee until everyone else was gasping!" Andromeda explains the night when Ted had proposed to her. They had been in a muggle restaurant and Andromeda had stood to go to the bathroom when Ted had gotten onto one knee. "It was terrific though, we got a free bottle of wine."
"It sounds amazing." Maria sighs honestly, smiling softly.
"Oh I hope you and Regulus get married." Andromeda says excitedly, sipping her wine. "I do love weddings! Me and Ted had a small wedding because of my family, but it was incredible. Even Sirius and Regulus snook out when Reg was nine to come for an hour."
Maria smiles at the thought of small Sirius and Regulus sneaking out of Grimmauld Place and walking the streets of London to get to their cousins wedding.
"What are we talking about?" Sirius sighs as he falls onto the sofa between the girls who glare at him slightly.
"Weddings."
"Boring." Sirius gulps down the rest of champagne in his glass before burping loudly making Maria screw her face up and he smiles sweetly at her.
"We'd better be off, honey." Ted sighs, approaching the three and Andromeda smiles with a nod, taking her husband's outstretched hand and pulling herself to her feet. "It was nice to see you Maria, you too Sirius."
"Write to me if you need anything." Andromeda sighs as she hugs Maria who nods into the slightly taller woman's shoulder. "You too, Sirius." She grins at her cousin who laughs and tackles her into a tight embrace.
The couple say their goodbyes to everyone else, leaving the party with two less people. Sirius slouches in his seat and Maria raises an eyebrow at the Black.
"What?" Sirius says, holding his arms out. "Hey, you think Peter and Mary will shag later?" Maria glances over at Peter and Mary who are laughing together in the sofa after being abandoned by Dorcas who had been dragged up to dance by her girlfriend.
"Possibly." She whispers and Sirius snickers slightly. "You and Lily's Mum?"
"Possibly."
"You'd better be kidding." Maria laughs and Sirius shrugs his shoulders making Maria roll her eyes with a small smile. "When do you want to tell Lily and James about their present?"
"I'd give it until tomorrow, they'll be shagging tonight and it's too late for them to go now." Sirius yawns, looking at the clock that reads exactly '4:10am'.
"Peter and Mary?" Regulus sniggers adds he sits on the other side of Maria who sighs and rolls her eyes.
"That's what I said!" Sirius exclaims and Regulus chuckles, grabbing Maria's hand. "You want me to piss off? Ill piss off. . .you two have fun I'm gonna go speak to Lily's Mum some more—"
"Shut up." Maria groans as Sirius backs away with a wink. Regulus grins slightly at her and she looks at him.
"We could go to the bathroom." Regulus suggests as a whisper in her ear. "Quickly, before anyone notices."
"Better be quick." Maria says, pulling him off the sofa and down the hall, into the bathroom and locking the door behind her. Regulus grins and grabs her hips, lifting her forcefully onto the counter and her back slams against the wall making her gasp. He pushes her knees away from each other and stands between her legs, lifting her dress from her ankles to her thighs and it then rides up itself as she pulls his tie to slam her lips against his.
"It's been three days since we've had time to kiss like this." Regulus mumbles, his left hand resting in her waist and his other hand griping her thigh underneath her dress.
"Not that long." Maria shrugs, moaning at the feeling of his lips on the sweet spot on her neck.
"It felt like it."
His hands slide up her thighs, his finger hooking on her underwear before pulling them down and they hang on her ankles because of the heels on her feet.
"Regulus." Maria sighs, leaning her head back against the wall as his fingers softly caress her inner thighs.
"Need me too stop?" Regulus whispers against her shoulder.
"Maria shakes her head quickly, "just touch me."
He smirks and slides a finger up her soaked entrance making his smirk wider and he chuckles slightly to himself. His thumb circles her clit on painfully slow circles as two of his fingers slip inside of her slowly making her moan and his other hand comes to cover her mouth quickly, muffling the erotic noise.
"Shh, shh, shh." Regulus breathes into her ear as his fingers continue their strategic work on her lower half. "As much as I love to hear you, I doubt everyone in the other room will." Maria gasps into his hand and her eyes close in pleasure when his finger curl and hit a certain place inside of her that makes her want to cry out. "There?" Maria nods quickly.
Regulus moves his hand from her mouth to tangle in her hair as he kisses her roughly again, her legs wrapping around his waist tightly as one of her hands grips the shelf above her containing soaps, the other hand gripping his hair.
Her lustrous noises are muffled by Regulus lips that move passionately against hers, his fingers repeatedly hitting the spot that makes her mouth gape. He knows she's close once she's unable to kiss him back properly, her lips apart and he moves his lips to her chest, her back arching off the tiled wall.
Regulus smiles when he feels her muscles rapidly contract around his fingers and her eyes squeeze shut, her mouth open in a silent moan as her head is tilted back.
"Done?" He whispers softly after continuing to move his fingers gently and she nods, her breathing uneven and heavy. "You did good." He breathes, grabbing some toilet paper and wiping her arousal off her thighs and entrance before washing his hands whilst she sits for a moment to compose herself before hopping off the counter shakily and pulling up her underwear.
She fixes herself as best she can in the small mirror before Regulus looks at her and they exit the bathroom, rejoining the party and Sirius exaggerates a wink as he chats with Lily's Mum and sister.
Maria feels herself go dizzy and clings onto Regulus for a second, the Black grabbing her to steady her and looking at her worrisomely.
"Hey, you okay?" He watches as her eyes glaze over before she stumbles again before collapsing onto the polished wooden floor. "Oh shit—Ria!"
"She's probably just had too much to drink—" James cuts himself off when he notices a drip of blood stream down from her nose and Regulus kneels beside her, turning her onto her side and gasping lightly when he sees the blood soaking through her dress. "What the fuck."
"What's going on?" Mrs Evans frowns as she, Vernon, Petunia and Mr Evans join the group around Maria — James, Lily, Regulus, Remus, Sirius, Alice, Frank, Marlene, Dorcas, Peter and Mary.
Regulus unzips the side of Maria's dress.
"Reg—"
Mary's cut off by her own gag when he opens her dress slightly and tears off the bandage around her side. It's awful. The blood seeping out is a black colour and the skin around the gash is green and black.
"Holy shit."
"What the fuck is that?" Sirius runs his hands through his hair.
"Regulus—Regulus stop." Lily says quickly as he tries to cover the wound with his hands, applying some pressure to desperately try and stop the bleeding. The red head grabs his wrists and pulls him away from her. He had tears in his eyes as he stares down at his hands which are now covered in the black blood.
"Marls, get towels." Remus shouts at the blonde who nods but his voice is blurred in Regulus' ears as he stares down at his hands. Remus is knelt beside Mary's unconscious body and he grabs Sirius' arm. "Keep check of her pulse." He positions the boy's fingers so they're pressed against the spot just beneath her jaw where he can feel the faint best of the Potter's heart.
"Regulus!" Lily's voice brings him back into the present. "Go and wash your hands."
Marlene arrives back with a pile of towels in her hands and Remus grabs one, packing it against the bleeding wound, James running both his hands through his hair stressfully.
"Maybe we should get Poppy." Sirius suggests and Remus swallows, removing the towel from her side to see the bleeding had not become any slower and he nods frantically.
"Yes, go."

When Promfrey arrived, she's with Minerva and Dumbledore, all three concerned for the girl's wellbeing — some more than others. Regulus had composed himself and is now sat on a chair beside Maria's bed where she lies in some pyjamas, towels compact against her side to try and help with the bleeding but Maria's breathing hitches every now and then making Regulus fear the very worst.
Poppy shoos everyone out of her way, Regulus sniffling and reluctantly letting go of her hand and standing up, walking over to Lily who rubs his arm soothingly.
"What on earth happened?" Minerva gasps when Poppy removes the towels to reveal the nasty gash.
"We don't know—"
"Me and Maria went searching for ways to put a stop to Voldemort." Regulus mumbles and Dumbledore raises his eyebrows at the eighteen year old. "It clearly didn't go successfully. She got clawed by one of those dead things—inferi. We thought it would heal normally but. . ." He glances back at Maria who's chest is rising and falling unevenly.
"I've never heard of anyone being attacked by inferi." Minerva breathes.
"Yeah well Voldemort is rather good at surprising people." Regulus sighs before looking back to Poppy who's applying something that will ease the bleeding. "Can you help her?"
"Like Minerva said. . .there's nothing on someone being scratched by an inferi. This is completely new to us healers." Poppy explains with a distraught look on her face. "But, I can keep her relatively stable until I can come up with something that will really help."
Regulus lets out a breath, sitting down on another chair and resting his elbows on his knees, his chin on his thumbs as his fingers cover his lips in fists. Tears gather in his eyes as he stares at the girl in front of him.
The only thing he can think of is how it's his fault.
He was the one who told her about the horcrux.
He was the one who went to her when he found out its whereabouts, knowing for a fact she wouldn't dare let him leave that house alone.
He lead her into that cave not knowing what to expect.
He was too weak to get them out of there before those things grabbed her.
He did this.
