Maya's POV
*Phone ringing*
Argh, four am what the hell
"yeah?" I asked over the phone "yes sir?" I asked. Argh, Dicksson "I'll be on my way sir" I said jumping out of bed and getting changed
"Maya?" asked Carina as I was finishing buttoning my shirt "It's four am" she said looking at her watch
"I know, there's an emergency. I'll be in downtown" I said "I'll be back in the afternoon"
"Be careful" said Carina as she sat up
"I'll be" I winked as I pecked her lips and rushed out waiting to see what the hell was going on that was so important to make a meeting at five am
Carina's POV
After Maya left I turned around and continued sleeping till it my alarm went on. I got up, showered and headed into the kitchen to have breakfast
"hey bambina" I smiled as I saw Mia on her laptop typing something
"morning Carina" she smiled
"should't you be in school?" I asked confused since it was quite late
"I've got my vocational exams today" she said
"ohh" I said as I grabbed my coffee and sat down "you nervous?
"kinda" she said "specially since I've got no clue" she smiled
"you know voactionals really did helped me decide" I said
"yeah, hoping it does the trick" she smiled
"you've got it" I said "need me to drive you?" I asked
"No no, thanks tho, I'll drive over there at midday so I've got enough time" she explained
"okay bella" I smiled "if you need anything you know I'm just blocks away" I said as I grabbed my stuff
"thank you Carina" she said
"oh, Maya had an emergency meeting so.." I began to explain
"yeah, I heard her leaving, she sounded quite mad" she laughed
I chuckled and then wondered how could she have heard her if she was sleeping, Maya rarely made loud noises when she left.
Mia's POV
Fucking hated the vocational thingy, couldn't find something which stressed me more. What's the need in knowing what I'll study this soon, Jesus.
As Carina left I continued typing and completing the form for the voactionals even tho I had no clue on what to answer in mostly every question.
Noah: hey you
Mia: hey there
Noah: you nervous? :)
Mia: should I?
Noah: not at all . See you after it?
Mia: sounds like a plan
Okay so at least there would be somethig good in this day.
As I was about to put down my phone another message came in
Maya: hey morning, after your test come over to the station <3
Mia: sure
not really loving the fact of going over to the station after the vocationals to everyone asking a million questions.
Carina's POV
"Carina" I heard a voice behind me
"Yeah?" I asked as I turned to see Jo "Jo" I smiled
"They're asking us to send the files for the conference today" she said
"Conference?" I asked
"The OBGYN conference?" She said
Oh shit the conference.
"I'll get the papers and send them myself" I smiled trying to pretend everything was under control
I rushed over to my office and phoned Mia hopping she was still home
"Hello?" She asked over the phone
"Oh thanks god" I sighted
I heard a chuckle behind and Mia asked "are you alright?"
"Please tell me you're home" I said
"I am" she said "You're getting me worried" she laughed
I laughed in relief and said "no no Bella everything's okay" I said "could you please hand the papers in the kitchen over in a file over to an Uber I'll send?" I asked
"sure" she said simply "wait you need them right now?" She asked
"Yeah" I confessed "but there's no way I'll make it over there and back here in time" I said "so I'll send the Uber meantime"
"Nonsense" she said "I'll have them over there in some minutes and then head over directly to school" she said "I'll leave them in your office?" She asked
"Omg Bella you're an angel" I said "thank you thank you thank you!" I said
"No worries" she laughed
Mia's POV
I packed everything for school and Carina's files and headed over to my bike.
In seconds I was already on my way over to the hospital. As I was only two lights away from the hospital I checked my watch. Perfect timing.
Green light. I made my way directly to the main door. One light to go. That's... pretty much all I can remember
Carina's POV
Done, donde and done
"Okay, everything's on its right track" I said as Jo came over
"Everything settled" she said smiling
The door to the conference room was shot open
"Dr. Deluca" said a nurse as she turned to us
"Yes?" I smiled as I turned around
"You need to come with us" she said
I turned to Jo thinking it was some kind of joke. I was only about to start a conference
"Dr. DeLuca" she said "you need to come"
Jo and I exchanged a look and both of us rushed out after the nurse who directed us into the E.R and into a trauma room. There we saw it, a crowd of doctors round the table. My head was spinning at 100 miles per hours until I realised. Arizona was in the room
Jo's POV
"Broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder" said Arizona "get Dr. Torres here right now!" she said
"There's no visible brain damage, head lack and possible concussion. I need a head CT stat" said Amelia as she passed a torch through Mia's eyes "Thanks god she was wearing helmet"
"Amelia" I said trying to catch her attention "what the hell happened?" I asked
"Motorcycle accident, car missed a red light, bumped straight into her" said Amelia and I turned to find Carina, realising she was not in the room
"has she been awake?" I asked and Amelia shook her head
I walked outside of the room to find Carina leaning against the wall with her hands over her face
"Carina" I said "Carina"
"It's my fault" she muttered "she was bringing me my papers over, it's all my fault" she said
"Carina no, stop okay" I said "a car missed a red light, this is not your fault" I said
"she wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for me" she muttered "I need to call Maya" she said
"Carina they're on it" I said reassuring her
"I can't do this, not again" she said "can you go in please" she asked as she sat down again with her knees to her chest. I nodded and walked in
"Amelia?" I asked
"not as bad as it seems" she said as she read the MRI "she's got a dislocated shoulder, broken rib, head lac and a concsussion" she said
I nodded and looked through the window to see Carina on the floor
"Maya is on her way" said Amelia and I nodded "go update her"
Mia's POV
What the ouch, everything just ouch. Why is it freezing cold. Where the hell am I
"I... I need to go" I muttered as I began to move and get up from what seemed to be a bed. Didn't get far since someone was pushing me down stopping me. What? My eyes shot open to be blinded by a strong white light, who the hell is everyone
"I.. I need to leave.. the papers" I said remembering I needed to give Carina some papers
"Easy easy" I heard the brunnet woman who was behind my head as she held me down
"Mia, Mia can you listen to me?" a blonde woman asked me as she got closer
"no no, the papers" I said. How could they not understand me
"stay still, it's okay" she said, I needed to leave. Carina was waiting for me
I tried to sit up again and was stopped by a stabbing pain to my ribside making me moan in pain as I had to lay back down
"Okay okay, stop, easy" the blonde said again "let's push 5 of morphine" she said and a familiar face came up
"Mia, Mia hey" she said "it's Callie" she said "I need you to stay still okay?" she said and looked at her
"What? What happened?" I said not understanding a thing of what they were talking about
"you were in an accident, you're okay, we've got you" she said smiling
Again it came to my mind "no no, Carina, the papers" I said sitting up even through the pain
"Mia, Mia stop" said the brunnet who was still trying to hold my head and was starting to piss me off
"let me go please" I said trying to understand
"you're in shock, it's alright" said the blonde one as she tried together with Callie to lay me back down
"no no I'm not, the papers I need to" I said again and noticed my left arm wasn't moving, it was like dead, just not moving.
"get Carina in here" ordered the brunnet as to some young doctor who rushed out of the room
Carina's POV
"Dr. Deluca" I heard a voice behind me which got me out of my state where I was. "Dr. Deluca!" I heard again "they need you inside" she said and Jo grabbed my hand
"Carina come on" she said as she lead me into the room scared to death to what I could see.
