norman pulls into the motel parking lot. he goes to the house next to it. norman knocks on the door and norma answers.
"hey mom." norman says.
"why are you here?" norma asks.
"can i come in?" norman ignores her question.
"answer my question!" norma freaks out.
"i want to see my family for a little." norman answers.
"well you can't stay."
"why?"
"you just can't."
norma tries to shut the door but norman stops her.
"what's in there that you don't want me to see?"
"nothing." norma lies.
suddenly, a little figure comes next to norma.
"who's that momma?" everleigh asks innocently.
"go back inside honey." norma tells everleigh.
everleigh slowly goes back inside.
"who's that? why'd she call you mom?" norman asks.
"you need to leave." norma tells norman.
"i'm not leaving." norman tells norma.
he barges in and everleigh gets scared.
"go upstairs to your room now!" norma yells at everleigh.
she quickly nods and runs upstairs.
"why'd you make her leave? my own sister should be able to see me."
"she's not your sister." norma says angrily.
"she called you mom so yes she is!" norman fights back.
alex walks in the front door.
"why is norman here?" alex asks confused.
"go upstairs. everleigh needs you." norma tells alex.
"i'm not leaving you down here alone."
"go to your daughter!" norma yells.
alex goes upstairs quickly. he walks into everleigh's room.
he sees her curled up in a ball crying. he walks over and sits on the bed.
"what happened jellybean?" alex asks.
"mom yelled at me and she's fighting with that guy."
"it's gonna be ok. i promise you that she didn't mean to yell at you." alex tries to calm everleigh down.
"ok." everleigh mutters.
"i'll be back." alex leaves everleigh and he goes back downstairs.
"fine you can stay for little!" norma finally gives in.
"thank you mother."
alex walks next to norma. he places his arm around her back.
"norman's staying?" alex asks surprised.
"only for a little bit."
alex slowly walks closer to norma.
"if you put a hand on everleigh or norma i swear to god i will kill you." alex says in a low and intimidating voice.
"i wouldn't dream about it." norman spits.
norma goes upstairs. she walks into everleigh's room.
"hey sweetheart." norma tells everleigh.
everleigh turns and she looks at her mom. norma walks over to everleigh's bed. she picks up her little child.
"let's go downstairs and see daddy." norma says to try and cheer everleigh up. norma carries her downstairs. alex was sitting on the couch. norma places everleigh next to alex.
"hey daddy." everleigh whispers as she cuddles into alex's side.
"hey jellybean."
norma goes into the kitchen to make food. alex and everleigh watch tv together. norman is down in the office with emma.
dinner is ready. the whole family sits down at the table. they all eat mostly in peace. norman and norma had some moments. whenever those happened everleigh would move closer to her father.
dinner was over. norma cleaned the dishes. alex was holding everleigh while helping.
"norman's scary." everleigh mutters.
"oh sweetie don't be scared." norma tells everleigh.
"he screams a lot." everleigh remarks.
"i know honey. that's just the way he is." norma says as she dries off her hands.
norma takes everleigh from alex. she sits everleigh on her hip.
"don't worry about him." norma whispers to everleigh as she pushes back everleigh's hair behind her ears.
"ok." everleigh whispers back.
"i'm gonna take her to bed." norma tells alex.
"i'll come too."
the three of them go upstairs. norma tucks everleigh in and she pecks her forehead.
"goodnight sweetheart." norma whispers.
"night."
little did they know that norman heard and saw everything they did in the kitchen. every minute his jealousy increases.
