"naenaeeee." rai dragged hitting my lap.
"yes pooh?" i asked.
"naeeenaeeee."
"you wanna play dont you?" i picked her up and held her in the air making her burst out laughing.
i placed her back down next to me and she climbed back on me.
"naenae can't play right now ok mama? i promise i'll play with you later." i frowned.
"whyyy? naenae what happen?" she pouted holding her arms out.
"i'm ok just... let's take a nap for now." i mumbled laying back as she laid on me and put her thumb in her mouth.
"luv you naenae."
"i love you too princess." i rubbed her back feeling her breathing get heavy, and she soon fell asleep.
me on the other hand, was still wide awake. drowning in my thoughts as usual. moments from that day replaying in my head over and over.
i shut my eyes tight trying to ignore everything, but that obviously never helped.
getting ready to reach in my pocket, i looked down at sarai sleeping peacefully on me.
i shook my head moving my hand and covering my face.
"Nae." i heard and looked up to see sayair standing in the doorway with a bag of donuts in his hand.
i tried giving my best smile but only a small one came out, waving him to come over by the bed since his child was sleeping on me.
"wassup, you missed me?" he whispered cheesing big and leaning down to kiss my forehead.
"yeah." i whispered carefully picking rai up and resting her next to me before standing up and giving him a proper hug.
"you okay?" he asked as i didn't let go of his torso.
i nodded against his chest and hugged him tighter.
"what's wrong zene?" he asked
"nun, im good, i just missed you." i lied hoping that he would believe me.
"mmhm." we pulled away from the hug and he jumped on the bed waking rai up on purpose.
she started whining and looked up to see him before squealing. "daddy!" she smiled jumping on him.
"wassup princess?" he laughed kissing her cheek.
"wassapp?" she giggled trying to copy him and laid her head on his shoulder.
i smiled a lil bit at them and shook my head.
"where fendi t3 and ej?" i asked.
"they on they way ova hea, went home to drop they shit off."
"oh okay." i nodded.
"come here." he put rai down and made the come here motion with his fingers.
"what?" i sat next to him.
he raised his eyebrow and i rolled my eyes. "yes sayair how can i help you?"
"what happened when i was gone? you went ghost fa like two days and you hung up on me."
"having one of them days, y'know." i played with my fingers partially telling the truth.
"you sure? cause my moms said yo car wasn't in the parking lot and you didn't look like you was home."
"oh uh i had just bought some new bed sheets and stuff." i lied making sure that i didn't make eye contact.
"ion believe you."
"ok you don't have to believe me." i shrugged and he shook his head.

"ight girl." he handed me the bag of donuts and i opened the box before taking out the chocolate one. "thanks gang."
"you gon just watch me....?" i saw him looking over at me eating the donut.
"sum off bra." he mumbled standing up.
"you trippin." i waved him off.
"what's this on yo neck? bet not be no fuckin hickey." he tilted my head to the side and i laughed a lil bit.
"nah that's just a scratch from when me and rai was playing." i looked around the room saying the first thing that came to my mind.
"mmhm keep playin wimme." he let go of my face
"nigga and if it was a hickey? then what?" i rolled my eyes.
"youon wanna know." he laughed picking rai up.
"so how was y'all trip?" i followed him out the room.
"hated that shit." he walked into the living room where mahlia and q were.
"watch yo mouth boy." they both said at the same time.
"yea watch yo mou-"
"shudup." q bucked at me and i pushed him before sitting on the couch where he was.
"zene i saw this thing on facebook, and this girl was giving her mama a makeover i think you needa do one on me." she was typing on her phone with her pointer finger and i gasped.
"ma you getting old foreal, look at how you typing." i pointed and sai started laughing.
"girl don't play with me i'm still young and fine too." she flipped her hair over her shoulder and i snapped my fingers.
"you right sis."
"hell yea you fine." q bit his lip at her and she blushed.
"ewww sequan." me and sai said at the same time scrunching our faces up at him.
"leave my man alone, cause that gon be y'all in a couple years." mahlia said mumbling the last part but only i heard her.
i whipped my head in her direction and she laughed.
"y'all niggas so nasty bruh." sai said
"how you think you was made? betta be lucky my pull out game was weak back in them days." q cracked his knuckles and i internally vomited at the thought of them having sex
"that's where you got it from huh?" i asked sai and he smacked his lips making them laugh.
"you trippin, my pull out game go crazy, i was trapped."
"damnnn that's tuff." mahlia said and i chuckled
"i'm glad i was tho." he kissed rai's cheek and she giggled
"soulja boy tell em aye lean wid it rock wid it." ej rapped walking through the door with t3 and fendi following him.
"shut yo bean head ass up coming in my crib with allat soldier shit." q mugged him.
"hey yall." i stood up giving them each a hug.
"i know you was here stressin without us." t3 mushed my head
"to be honest no." i shrugged. "cap."
"girl what you know bout some cap." fendi pulled mahlia's wig a lil bit and she hit his butt
"ouch ma don't do that no more." he jumped away from her.
"so how everything went? with the people?" q asked as they sat on the couches.
"it was straight, them niggas was acting grimy as usual but ain't had no prollem." ej shrugged.
"speaking of... when you got back nigga?"
"today." q said
"ight no more discussing business it's family time." mahlia said.
we chatted shit up and chilled for a couple more hours until everybody started leaving.
"zene come here lemme talk to you." fendi pulled me into the kitchen and i internally groaned.
"i told y'all that i was finee! it's not even nun."!
"so why-"
"i was just feeling a lil down its nun serious i promise."
"you needa hug?" he opened his arms and i laughed hugging his torso.
"you know you my favorite, i just wanna make sure you ok lil sis." he said never breaking the hug.
"i'm ok fendi foreal." i sighed.
"promise?"
"yea." i said and he kissed the top of my head.
"i love you, ight?"
"love you toooo." i dragged
"and don't do that shit no more, had me scared as hell." he pushed me out of the kitchen and i laughed.
"sayair!" i called out for him and he came out the hallway
"what you yellin my name fa?" he straight faced me.
"let me know when you leaving imma go witchu." i said.
"i'm leavin now." he picked up rai and her shoes.
we told everybody bye before getting into his car.
"you not staying at ya crib?"
"nah imma stay witchu." i mumbled
"you sure you ok?" he pulled off and started driving back to his house.
"yea, i will be." i tight lip smiled and he skeptically watched me before focusing back on the road.
when we got home, he put rai in her bed to sleep before going into his.
i was about to get in the bed but my phone started ringing.
i saw a call from an unknown number and scrunched my face up before stepping outside the bedroom to answer it.
"yo?"
"zene, you have a court date next week. i already got you a lawyer and shit, it's on wednesday at 10 am." i heard my mothers voice on the line
"the fuck you mean i got a court date?! i told you ion wanna press charges!" i whisper yelled.
"that man has a criminal record! all the evidence needed is there from the tests at the hospital! you guaranteed to win the case!"
"ok and what about his wife? in their eyes they just an innocent white couple getting fucking targeted by some random black girl!"
"they took them into custody earlier today, just please have faith in this. they needa pay for what they done to you!"
"bruh whatever." i hung up the phone and walked back into the bedroom
"who you was talkin to?" sai asked in a tired voice indicating that he was half asleep.
"uhh ej called me for sum" i lied turning off the lights and getting in the bed.
"mmhm, goodnight."
"goodnight sayair." i sighed falling asleep, getting ready to have yet another terrible nightmare.
