CHAPTER 04 KISS
scaramouche sat on his bed, scrolling through his phone, as boxes are strewn around the floor. you were bothered when you learned that you would be missing your grandparents' presence after moving into the dorms.
however, a new atmosphere would be beneficial, right? you don't have to worry about walking to school, after all.
as while you were lost to your own thoughts, scaramouche looked up from his phone. his indigo eyes trailing towards your figure, noticing the frown displayed on your face.
"do you need help with the boxes?" he asked, effectively attracting his roommate's attention.
once scara spoke, you snapped out of your reverie, your gaze leaping to his' and a smile rising to your lips.
"i didn't realize you were this nice," you pointed out, earning the boy an irk mark. "what's that supposed to mean?" he responded, glaring.
you let out a chuckle and didn't bother to answer his question. "sure, help me unpack these boxes," you hummed and moved closer to one of the boxes.
the boy put down his phone and got out of bed to assist you, so it shouldn't be too bad. the stillness developed between you two, which none of you minded while discreetly unpacking your belongings.
the boy saw that the girl doesn't have a lot of cosmetics or jewelry and that the majority of her belongings are books or her clothes. 'right, she's a commoner,' he sighed to himself.
"you're such a nerd, you have so many books," scara spoke first again, placing one of the books on the empty shelf. while speaking with the girl, he fixed his gaze on his activity.
you roll your eyes at the mention of the word 'nerd,' because you've heard it so many times. as you emptied a box, you reasoned, "i gain information from it, and it's really valuable to me."
"would you be willing to teach me more about cooking?" he inquired, making your eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"i was expecting you to ask me to teach you an intellectual subject..." you answered as you turned to face him, who was still putting the books on the shelf. in response, the male shrugged and finally turned to face you, a smirk on his lips.
"don't doubt my intelligence."
"yeah, sure. whatever you say, shortie." you teased and chuckled at this, obtaining another look from him.
"so, how was your stay? did you feel comfy in the dorms?" aether inquired as soon as you walked into the room.
the boys were generally doing their own thing, venti, who was honing his lyre skills, xiao eating his next almond tofu while watching albedo paint on a canvas, scaramouche was on his phone and kazuha was taking a little nap on the couch.
"certainly, since i can get to school faster than before," you stated in response to aether's query.
aether flashed you a smile, nodding in agreement, "that's nice to know, y/n. we won't be having club activities since exams are coming up next week." he explained while taking a notepad written with his schedule.
you hummed back, watching as venti walked up to you, a grin on his lips.
"well, guess what! i got candies from my fangirls, would you like to share them with me?" he asked, holding up a jar of sweets.
"maybe a portion, i don't want to have diabetes," y/n exclaims as she sweat-dropped at the thought, eliciting a chuckle from venti.
the boy took a handful of sweets from the container and poured them into a nearby bowl. at the sight of this, y/n smiled softly, reflecting herself that venti is indeed a child. despite this, she continues to deny that he is the host club's leader.
you thanked venti for the bowl of sweets and proceeded to sit next to scaramouche on the couch, who was still engrossed in his phone.
in front of them, a bowl of sweets was placed on the coffee table. y/n relaxed back on the couch, her mind wandering once more. she didn't want to eat sweets right now, figuring she'd eat them after she got back to the dorms.
scara turned his focus to y/n, and turned off his phone. for a little moment, he thought to himself, and an idea flashed into his head.
he reached for a candy from the bowl of sweets, unwrapping the candy wrapper. he returned his gaze to y/n after putting the candy in his mouth.
when she saw noticed his stare, one of the girl's eyebrows raised in confusion. it's almost as if the boy wanted to tell her something but he couldn't for some random reason.
"what is it?" you inquired, giving him a suspicious look. the boy remained still, not saying a single word. then, all of a sudden, he grabbed your arm and pulled you closer to him.
as your eyes widened at his move, you felt his breath against your face. due to the close proximity, you can feel your lips brushing against his, "what-"
unable to finish your statement, he pressed his lips into yours quickly. 'what the actual fuck'.
venti's hold on the jar had given way as the candies dispersed across the floor. kazuha was startled awake by the shattering sound that echoed throughout the room. "venti, be more-" albedo turned to talk, he spotted y/n and scaramouche's position.
they were too stunned to speak.
the h/c-haired gasped, suddenly understanding what was going on. scara took advantage of the situation and quickly passed the candy to her mouth with his tongue.
"do you think this will work on the other female customers?" he questioned as he backed away, leaving y/n in a shock state.
"what the fuck were you doing, scaramouche?" venti launched himself at the mentioned boy, who groaned under the weight of the boy.
"are you all right, y/n?" kazuha approached your figure quickly, not expecting scara's dumb bold move.
"you know you can't do that to someone who didn't give you consent!" venti proceeded to shake him back and forth, making scaramouche dizzy from his movements. xiao, on the other hand, was attempting to drag venti away from the boy.
albedo approached the three, with his notebook smacking the back of scaramouche's head, "get a hold of yourself, now it's poking out." the teal-eyed boy sighed at this and looked over at y/n who was coming back to her senses.
"i'm sorry for scara's behavior; he's just so unpredictable," aether sat beside you, his troubled stare fixed on your form.
"whwgr-" you weren't able to fix properly since there was a sweet inside your mouth. you blinked, once, twice, and then thrice. you and scaramouche had exchanged saliva.
venti dashed to your figure, with his hands on top of your shoulders. "he stole your first kiss! what are you going to do now!?" he panicked, as you sighed.
"i've already had my first kiss," you responded.

this chapter was really wack, i was having writer's block, and i apologize if scara's ooc here. i'd imagined him to be very bold to be honest, although don't worry- there'll be more to come! stay tuned :)
