Suddenly, all of the curtains went down. My bedroom became less bright.
I searched the whole room looking for Jadiel's presence. And I saw a figure appearing out of nowhere at the left corner near the cupboard.
I saw the familiar face from last night. But today, he's smiling instead of crying. He's wearing all white clothes that matches his features. And as I look at him, I guess we are probably at the same age.
When he took a few steps forward, I noticed he's a little transparent. I can see my cupboard still, through him. Still, I was so mesmerized by him. He's like an angel who went down from heaven and now walking towards me.
My heart began to pound again... but not in fear this time.
He stopped a few inches away from the bed. I think he's too shy to go near me.
I chuckled. "You can take a seat beside me, Jadiel." I said as I patted a corner of my bed. I also moved a little distance to make him feel comfortable with my presence.
He obediently sat at the corner of the bed and looked at me in the eyes as if he was waiting for my next command.
Holy heavens, he is so cute.
I thought ghosts only want to kill us and try to drink our blood or something...

But seriously, are all ghosts this cute? If he was human, I would have fell in love with him at first sight. Wait, what the heck am I saying?
I looked at Jadiel again, and yeah, I couldn't stop myself admiring his appearance.
"So, you can see me properly now. Can I go?" Jadiel asked. Oh my goodness, his voiceeee....
"Oh, why? Are you... shy?" I asked while I'm trying to stop myself from dying from his cuteness.
"W-what? No... Actually, people get scared after they see me like this." He said.
He looked down and his face was filled with sadness, "I just... don't want to scare you again..." he added.
The heck. Then what were you doing to me for the whole damn week? Banging noises at the door then screaming out of nowhere that I couldn't sleep, remember?!
"But.. what are those noises I hear every night? Were you trying to scare me away?" I asked.
Jadiel let out his smile again and replied, "This is my house. And I live alone here."
"Oh, I see. I like to live alone, too. That's why I moved here." I said while scratching my head. "Uhm, if you think that I'm disturbing you... I will leave."
Goodness, Yesenia. What are you saying?!
Jadiel immediately hold my hand and said a "No."
Now, I'm too frozen because he's holding my hand!
"N-No? But why...? You just said you wanted to live alone in your house."
His grip of my hand went tighter. "Because you're the only one who didn't get scared of me."
"Oh..."
"And when you—" suddenly, Jadiel paused and he looked down again.
Silence filled the room again. "Why did you stop?"
I got no response from him.
"Oh come on, tell me. When I what?" I asked.
<Jadiel's POV>
When you caressed me and wiped my tears last night, I felt so good. So I want you to stay.
Those are the words that I supposed to tell Yesenia but I stopped myself.
<Yesenia's POV>
"I mean... you came here because you needed a place to stay, right? So you can stay as long as you like." Jadiel replied.
I nodded, "Okay, but promise me to stop doing that door knocking, and those screaming noises. I can't sleep. I haven't slept properly for a whole week."
Jadiel's cheeks turned red in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry... I won't do it again..."
I chuckled at his response, I didn't know a ghost can blush, too. I found myself having fun teasing him. I think I should tease him more.
I let out a sigh and plop myself to the bed again. Jadiel is still sitting down beside me.
"You know, Jadiel. I don't want to leave. I want to stay here..."
Wait , what—?
"... forever." Did I said that?
Jadiel looked at me with confusion, "Why do you want to?"
My heart began to beat loudly and I carelessly said these words.
"Will you believe me if I tell you that I have fallen in love with you at first sight?"
Realized what I just said, I immediately covered my mouth. Congratulations, Yesenia. You just lost your chance. Why tf did you confess already?! You're going too fast, you young, dumb, broke woman?!
Jadiel's eyes went big in shock. And his face turned beet red, "W-WHAAAAT?????"
And there's me, hiding on the blankets and at the same time, I was trying to control my laugh as I saw his flustered face. I let out a sigh and gathered my courage to get up and ask him.
"So... what do you think of me, Jadiel?"
Jadiel bit his lower lip while blushing. Suddenly, he disappeared. I was laughing at his reaction.
After that, I went to the washroom, took a shower and hide there while I changed my clothes because I knew Jadiel can be in any corner of the house.
I'm about to leave because I have classes to attend. As I approached the main door, I said, "I will be back until 5pm, okay?"
Then, I saw the lights of my bedroom flickered a few seconds. Well, that must be Jadiel who is still blushing and maybe couldn't say a word.
"Alright, then. I'm going!" I said as I left the house and made my way to the university.
<Daewon University, 12:00pm>
The school bell finally rang and its now lunch time. Irish and I met at the exit of our classroom and made our way to the cafeteria as usual. While walking, my best friend keeps on looking at me.
"W-what? Is there something on my face?" I asked.
"Girl, you're glowing. I mean, who got you smiling like that?" Irish teased me.
"Oh, shut up. Let's head to the cafeteria fast before the chocolate muffins runs out." I said smiling, trying to dodge Irish's question. I mean, how can I tell her that I met a ghost in the cottage and I fell in love with him at first sight?
"Pleeeease tell me~ I'm your best friend." she whined.
But the happy atmosphere didn't last long as we saw Sedric and his friends again... laughing at a nerd who just tripped on front of them.
"Ugh, these punks." I said as I took my toy that is look exactly as a real cockroach that I used as pranks from my bag. I threw it towards Sedric and his group. And because I have a perfect aim, it landed on Sedric's head.
The boys screamed and run away in fear. Sedric saw the toy and ran away as well yelling, "Roach! ROACH! IT'S COMING AFTER MEEE!!!"
Irish and I, and everyone in the hallways were laughing. Then, we immediately approached the nerd that the boys were laughing at.
"Are you okay?" Irish asked him.
"Y-yes, I am okay." the nerd got up on his knees and we helped him pick up his stuff.
I got shocked as I recognized his face, "Oh! You're Yuugi. The smartest one in our class."
Yuugi chuckled, "Uhm, cut the "smartest one" though."
"Would you like to join us for lunch?" Irish asked him. Well I have no problems with that.
"Yes. Thank you." Yuugi replied with a smile on his face. The three of us went to the cafeteria and thankfully, we got chocolate muffins as dessert.
The day went well. Classes, lunch and hanging out with Irish and Yuugi. Everything was perfect and I even bought dinner before coming back to the cottage.
I was so excited because I knew someone's there waiting for me to come home...
