C H A P T E R 4 7 : N O R M A L ? :

"She loves the smell of warm coffee, bloomed roses and new beginning."

.....................................................................

"Jordan, I want coffee." I whine, pulling the blanket closer to my body.

"Jayden specifically told me to not give you coffee." He answers.

Jayden, Xavier, Lizzy and Alice all went grocery shopping. Hunter's working. And Jordan's babysitting me.

I got discharged from the hospital a couple days ago, my sister left yesterday back to Michigan. My parents barely spoke to me. And Jayden's acting like I'm dying any moment.

So dramatic.

"Jordan. Screw what Jayden thinks. This is why people call you his sidekick." I joke.

"Who the fuck called me his sidekick?" He asks, alarmed.

"Alex told me Rex did." I whisper, with secrecy

"Whatever. Regardless, you're not getting coffee." Jordan says.

"Jordan. Please. I beg you. I need coffee. Please take me to Starbucks!!!" I yell, dramatically.

"No.."

"Jayden doesn't have to know." I argue.

"That sentence sounds so wrong, Amber." Jordan says, disgusted.

"Shut up." I throw a cushion at his face.

He catches it and throws it back towards me.

"Hey! I'm sick. Remember?" I say, fake coughing.

"Amber, seriously shut up." Jordan says.

"Please take me to Starbucks!!! I'll bake you your favorite brownies. I promise. I won't bother you and Jayden's bromance dates." I push.

"What bromance dates?"

"I don't know. When y'all hang out I won't annoy y'all." I shrug.

"How about we go to Starbucks and you get a kids sized hot chocolate?" Jordan offers.

"Starbucks hot chocolate is disgusting so no. Besides, I need caffeine!" I argue.

"The doctor said no caffeine so deal with it." He says, before putting on a horror movie.

Somebody get me a new babysitter.

I text Hunter.

Me: can you please do me a favor?🥺

Hunter😎🧡: What's up?

Me: please please please please please get me Starbucks!!

Hunter😎🧡: Isn't jor babysitting you?

Me: yeah he is

Hunter😎🧡: then ask him😃

Me: but you know my order🙂

Hunter😎🧡: aren't you not allowed to have caffeine?

Me: the doctors are discriminating against me Hunter😟😕🙁😣😣😖😫😑😔😔😔😭😤😡🤯😠😠😠😠

Hunter😎🧡: iced blonde vanilla latte with oat milk and vanilla cold foam?

Me: YAS 👏

Hunter😎🧡: Fine, I'll see you in like 15 minutes.

Me: THANK YOU SO MUCH I LITERALLY LOVE YOU BESTIE<3

Hunter😎🧡: yeah yeah shut up

I smile happily as I put my phone away.

"I swear to god Amber if you doordashed coffee or some shit I will shoot the delivery person." Jordan says, suspiciously.

"I didn't." I smile. Folding my hands over my lap.

Jordan sighs before going back to watching his movie.

This dude has an obsession with horror movies. He also watches them with a straight face.

Like a psychopath.

A couple minutes later, the door opens.

Hunter has keys.

Jordan gets up, looks at Hunter and then the Starbucks bag he's holding along with the tray.

"She's not allowed to have coffee." Jordan says, in an obvious tone.

I throw a cushion at his back.

He doesn't budge.

"I'm sure a cup of coffee won't kill her, man." Hunter says, walking over to me.

"The coffee won't kill her, but Jayden will kill you." Jordan says, sarcastically.

"Shut up jordy." I say, as Hunter hands me my coffee.

"Thanks Hunter!!!" I say, hugging him.

"Yeah I gotta go back, call me if you need anything." He says, before walking out.

"You are such a brat, you know that?" Jordan laughs.

"Awe, someone didn't have their morning coffee, huh?" I pout, sarcastically.

He rolls his eyes as we watch the movie.

Alice and Lizzy have been really sweet and they're doing my assignments, and they also informed my professors that I was in the hospital.

Spring break is in a couple of days and I still don't know what Jayden has planned.

He's so hard to read.

He could be proposing and I wouldn't know.

Except Aurora already threatened him with the whole proposing thing.

All Jayden said is that we're leaving the country for all of spring break.

Which is exciting!!

"So Jordan how's Makayla?" I ask.

"She's not my girlfriend, Amber." Jordan reminds me.

"Oh I know. I'm just asking about her well-being." I say.

"I haven't seen her in a while. She's getting annoying and clingy." He answers.

"I think she's sweet."

"No offense but I'm not into innocent sweet girls who make me food and want to cuddle and call me disgusting nicknames."

"Why would I be offended?" I say, offended.

"Because that's you. You and Jayden are cute but his taste in women is very different from mine, clearly." He explains.

"If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't go for you either." I comment, smiling.

"Glad we're on the same page kiddo." He says, annoyingly

"So basically you're into girls like my sister." I smirk.

"Your sister's a girl?" He says, sarcastically.

"Shut up. My sister is amazing." I say, throwing a cushion at his face.

He dodged it.

"Why is everyone so against me and Jayden?" I joke.

"Do not compare me to Ace Romano, I think you're cool. For him. Would I date you? Respectfully no. Would I try to make him leave you? No. Because he's genuinely in love with you. You like make him smile and shit. But I think you and Jayden are actually good for each other." He explains.

"I was joking. But awwwwwwwww." I pout my lip.

"Shut up."

I smile while drinking my iced coffee.

Half an hour later, Jayden, Xavier, Alice and Hunter walk in with bags.

Basically Jayden and Hunter holding like 20 bags of groceries, while Lizzy and Alice carry nothing.

Love to see it.

Jayden and Xavier drops the bags in the middle of the hallway. "Ok now you ladies sort 'em' out. Do your part." Xavier says.

"Fine." The girls say at the same time.

The start sorting groceries, as Jayden walks over to me.

"Hi!!" I say hugging him.

He notices the coffee next to me.

He glares at Jordan.

"That was Hunter." Jordan defends.

Jayden looks at me. "You aren't supposed to be drinking caffeine, Amber." He states.

You know it's serious when it's 'Amber' instead of 'Angel' or 'baby' or literally anything else.

"Chill I think the doctors are just discriminating me.." I joke.

He gives me a blank look.

"I'm sorry but I can't give up coffee." I say, laying my head in his lap.

"Amb I got your favorite candies. Here." Alice says handing me a bag filled with all my favorite candies.

"This is why you're my favorite Hendrix. Thanks Alice." I say, hugging her.

"You're welcome." She smiles, before going back to sorting groceries.

"What do you want for lunch?" Jayden asks, playing with my hair.

"I'm making vegan pizza for everyone!!!!" Lizzy yells from the kitchen.

"Not that." I whisper, laughing.

"Chick fil a?" Jayden asks.

"You know me so well!" I say, kissing him.

"Why don't you go take a nap while I figure out a way to sneak chick fil a without Lizzy noticing?" Jayden says.

"Fine." I say sipping the last bit of my coffee and getting up.

I leave my blanket and pillow on my couch.

Basically a couch I've claimed in the men mansion.

I toss my empty coffee cup in the trash can before walking up the stairs with Jayden.

I've basically unofficially moved in with him.

After that dorm incident Alice, Lizzy and I still haven't moved back into our dorm.

So we stay with the guys.

Living with Jayden, Jordan, Xavier and Hunter really isn't that bad.

By that I mean I don't mind cuddling Jayden 24/7

I'm so in love with him.

It's a feeling I've never felt before. And I thought I've been in 'love' before. But falling in love with Jayden has showed me that all those previous relationships were not even close to the bond we have.

The love I have for him.

I lay on Jayden's chest as he runs his fingers through my hair.

"I love you." I say, hugging him tightly.

"I love you too." He says, kissing the top of my head.

I fall asleep in his arms.

I wake up to Jayden, Jordan, Xavier, and Alice all in our room.

There's like 7 bags of chick fil a.

The door is locked.

"Here you go. Good morning." Alice says, handing me a spicy chicken sandwich with extra Pickles.

"Thank you." I say, grabbing it.

The five of us are eating chick fil a locked in our room because Lizzy's vegan and is making us vegan food.

"This is so fucking good. Oh my god." Xavier says, enjoying his deluxe chicken sandwich.

"It's so stupid how I literally have to hide my food just so I don't offend you weird ass girlfriend." Jordan complains.

"Shut up my girlfriend is amazing." Xavier interrupts.

"I love her but I can't live without my chicka." Alice says.

We all finish eating chick fil a before removing any sign of chick fil a front his household.

Everyone goes downstairs, Jayden's in the shower and I'm scrolling through Netflix.

I grab my phone and notice how ugly my nails look.

I have not been in the nail salon for like a month.

Just in que, Jayden walks out of the bathroom.

"Hey Jayden, I need to get my nails done. So I'll see you later." I say, getting up.

"Going with the girls?" He asks.

"No, they went the other day. I could use some me time." I say, walking to the closet.

"You're not going by yourself. I'll go with you." He states.

"To the nail salon?" I laugh.

"Yeah? Why?"

"Jayden, my nails take like 4 hours. I get fancy acrylics and a pedicure. Relax I'll be fine." I explain.

"I don't care, I'm not leaving you again."

My heart.

"Okay." I say, hugging him.

I try to understand his overprotectiveness after what happened, but at the same time I find it awfully annoying.

"I've gotta run an errand real quick, but I'll call you when I'm outside. It should only take an hour." Jayden says.

"Yeah sure, I'll just get ready till then." I say, as he walks out.

For the next fifteen minutes I try to find something to wear.

I have way too many things to wear.

This is a problem.

I walk downstairs, frustrated.

"Would you look at that, Amber's not smiling!? That's weird." Xavier jokes.

"I hate you." I smile, jokingly.

"I'm so bored." Alice says, staring at the ceiling.

I gasp. "Jordan!! Can you please help me pick out an outfit? I wanna try something different." I beg.

"No."

"Please."

"No."

"Jordan please!! I almost died." Yes I played that card.

He rolls his eyes, before following me upstairs.

"I'll wear anything you pick. No matter how colorless it it." I assure him.

"Shut up."

He picks an outfit for me.

I stare at it.

It's uhm... amazing.

Just not my style.

Like at all.

"What was that about wearing anything I picked? Let's see you wear this pinky pie." Jordan says, sarcastically.

"Fine, pick shoes to match."

He picks black and white air Jordans from my collection.

This outfit is great. I would never wear it on a normal day.

It's lacking... color.

I'm a bright color person.

But I wear the outfit regardless.

The outfit Jordan made:

The bike shirt was very ironic.

Jordan's got style.

I finish my makeup and hair before walking downstairs.

"I should be taking that fashion class." Jordan says, cockily.

"I actually don't hate it. Thanks Jordy."

"Stop calling me that."

"I wuv you." I say, I'm a baby voice just to annoy him.

"Disgusting."

Jayden texts me that he's outside, so I grab my purse and walk outside to his car.

As always Jayden's in a car I genuinely don't recognize. He really can't stick to one car, can he?

I sit in the passenger's seat, completely ignoring the stunned expression on his face.

"Where the pink?" He jokes.

"Shut up Jordan picked it and I couldn't let him go around calling me 'pinky pie' I wear clothes that aren't pink? Right?" I rant.

"You look amazing in everything babe, and the outfit is great." He reassures me, while driving.

"Really?"

"Yeah it's hot."

"Thanks." I say, putting on music.

Chase Atlantic to fit the vibe for today.

I put on devilish by chase Atlantic and the 'Holy shit, she worshiping my dick like it's the holy father.' Part comes on.

Jayden gives me a surprised look. "Innocent huh?" He smirks.

"Shut up." I say turning the music up

When we finally arrive at the mall, we walk inside holding hands of course.

It's always interlocked hands, or his hand around my waist, shoulder or literally anything. It's adorable.

"What nails should I get?" I ask him.

"Pink." He jokes.

I roll my eyes jokingly as we walk into the nail salon.

"This reminds me of when we got matching nails that night." I say, as that memory floods in.

"That was terrible." He comments.

"We should get matching nails." I say, grabbing his hand and walking to the register.

"Hi so I have a picture for my nails and for my boyfriend can I get the same design but not acrylics?" I ask.

"Of course." She smiles.

"Thanks, and then can we get pedicures too?" I ask.

She nods.

"I would just like white gel and then no nail polish for him." I inform.

"Ok that works, you guys are lucky we aren't busy today." She laughs.

"I know right? I usually make an appointment but I didn't have time. And these." I show her my hands. "Need help."

She laughs before guiding us to the pedicure seats.

"I hate this." Jayden comments.

"I know." I smile.

She fixes the water for us and then leaves.

"Jayden, baby, put your feet in. It's just water." I laugh.

"I'm so regretting coming here." He mumbles, before dipping his feet in the water.

"See this is what you get for being overprotective and clingy." I say, turning on my massager.

"What the fuck is that?" He asks.

"Here." I press the button on his chair. "Customize it babe."

"Turn it off, this shit is so weird."

"How do you have a sister and not know this?" I say turning off his massager.

"Because I'd just give her $500 and drop her off. I wouldn't go and get matching nails with her."

"$500 is a lot for nails. What did she get real gold on 'em?" I laugh

"That sounds like my sister."

A couple minutes later, they start our pedicures.

Jayden glares at me.

I'm enjoying this so very much.

I grin and mouth 'I don't care! I'm not leaving you again.' Mockingly.

After a relaxing hour or so they hand us the foam slippers and we walk to the manicure tables.

"The things I do for you." Jayden mumbles.

"Don't even lie, that was so fun."

"It was weird."

"In a good way." I correct him.

"Whatever."

They start working on our nails, I show her a picture of the nails I want.

Amber's nails *I would imagine them a little bit shorter, so medium length but the same design*

Jayden gets the same color so just plain blue.

Jayden, being the amazing boyfriend, happens to pay for it.

I offer but he wins that argument.

"It's ok girl, make his pockets hurt. What are girlfriends for anyways? Besides, he looks rich." The lady interrupts.

He is a billionaire, so she's right.

I laugh awkwardly as Jayden hands her his credit card.

"I know damn well I did not just get a pedicure when I had to wear sneakers." I groan at my stupidity.

"That's just karma." Jayden comments.

"Oh well the nail polish has dried so it doesn't really matter." I say, as we walk out of the nail salon.

"Where do you wanna go now?" He asks, interlocking his hand with mine.

"For spring break, are we going somewhere warm? Cold? Or like what would I have to pack?" I ask.

"Warm, really warm." He answers.

"So Texas?" I joke.

"No."

"Good cause' I don't like Texas." I comment.

"We're leaving the U.S." he tells me for like the tenth time.

"Ok so like bikinis? Or like shorts?"

"Bikinis."

"Are you just saying that because you wanna see me in a bikini, or are we actually going somewhere with water?" I ask.

"A little bit of both." He says, pulling me closer.

"Funny."

We stop at a smoothie place in the mall, he orders because I hate ordering with a passion.

With our smoothies, we walk into a store that's exclusively all bikinis.

"There's so many options." I say, confused.

"This one." He says, grabbing a red bikini.

"It's cute." I say, grabbing it.

"Try it on."

"No thanks." I kindly decline

"Why?"

"Perv." I say, jokingly.

He grabs a ton of other bikinis, and also pays for them.

"I should name you 'sugar daddy' on my phone." I say, as he cashes the bikinis at the register.

After buying like 50 bikinis we go to Zara.

"I hate wearing jeans." I say, randomly.

"Why?"

"I just don't like wearing pants."

"Amber." He chuckles.

"No, that's not what I meant! I mean like I prefer skirts, dresses, shorts." I laugh.

As we're laughing I see a group of guys laughing and pointing fingers at a girl in the corner.

The girl's really beautiful, she's wearing a hijab, and her outfit is definitely the best in the store. It's modest and she literally looks like a goddess.

"Jayden." I say, softly as I try to make sure I'm reading this situation correctly.

I hate men so much.

They're trying to yank off her hijab.

As soon as I see that, I rush over. There's no way these guys are actually a thing. But the look on the poor girl's face...

I've never seen anything like this before.

Like actual racism.

"What the actual hell is your problem!?" I yell.

The three white college frat boys turn around and look at me.

Jayden's next to me, also equally concerned.

"Chill we were just playing." One of them speaks up.

"Yeah? By trying to take off her hijab?" I say, angrily.

The girl fixes her headscarf, as she's trying to hold in tears.

"We're friends, see?" Another guy puts an arm around her shoulder.

She looks uncomfortable.

Before I can say something, Jayden does. "Get your hands off her."

"Bruh, are you really siding with... that?" He laughs.

"That's it." It's like my hand has a mind of its own. I slap the dude in the face.

Really hard.

I've never slapped a guy before.

But I'd do it again.

Jayden looks shocked yet proud.

"You fucking bi..." he says holding his face.

"Finish that sentence. I dare you." Jayden interrupts.

"Are you okay?" I ask the girl, walking over to her.

She nods before hugging me tightly.

I think I'm gonna cry.

I hugged her back.

"You should go back to where you came from." A guy says to the girl.

"You should fucking shut up." Jayden adds.

"Why don't the 3 of you disgusting rats go back to the spray paint aisle and paint your face even more orange. While you're at it buy a little bit of respect and life purpose since you seem to not have any." I snap.

The three of them leave after that.

"I'm so sorry you have to deal with people like them. What's your name?" I ask her.

"Zainab." She smiles.

"That's a very pretty name, I'm Amber. And that's Jayden." I smile.

"Thank you for that. By the way." She says, gratefully.

"Of course, I wanted to do a lot worse than slap him." I add.

"Regardless, you didn't have to do that. So thank you. Truly." She says.

"No one should just stand there. Again, I'm so sorry that people like them exist. Are you here alone?"

"No, with my parents they're at the food court." She explains.

"Well, if you see them again, call me. I'll bring my scary boyfriend and we could deform their faces together. I say, jokingly before giving her my number.

I give a lot of strangers my number.

Mostly girls.

Oh well.

She smiles as we go our own ways.

"I hate people." I say, referring to those disgusting guys.

"I can't believe you slapped him babe." Jayden says, still shocked.

"I don't even know how. It's like I went all 'Jordan mode'"

"Good job, though." He adds.

"My hand hurts."

We didn't really buy anything from Zara, so we went straight back home.

So we really only bought like 100 sets of bikinis by the end of this trip.

We get home and I tell everyone about my experience with slapping a racist guy in the face.

"Good job Amber, I'm very proud of you." Alice says.

"Seriously. How do people like him still exist?" Lizzy says.

"Sad reality." Alice says.

"For real. I don't think I've been angrier in my life." I say.

For dinner we have Lizzy's vegan pizza which is actually not that bad.

We all fall asleep watching another one of Jordan's horror movies in the living room.

I feel Jayden carry me upstairs, the last thing I remember is falling asleep on his chest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A / N :
I just wanna start by saying that the racism scene I unfortunately actually saw happening. I was out with my sister (her name's Aurora and she acts like Ror) and her boyfriend (Jordan. Literally) and we see this happening, we were about to throw hands, And then we got kicked out of the store. My parents yelled at us but the three of us were not sorry at all. Still am not.😑
#familygoals
So yeah. It's such a sad reality. And it freaking sucks that people still think like those guys. So yeah, I wanted to spread awareness on that subject.
Anyways!! So excited for their spring break chapters😎
I'm also very proud of the Jordan outfit. Perks of scrolling through Pinterest for hours. I thought I was so smart for the bike shirt and it overall gives me Jordan vibes. Like he would pick that fit.
