Xiao's POV
Like Usual, I'm here around Liyue expelling Monsters that can cause trouble to humans.
"Breathe deep, breathe clear"
While I was destroying a Hillichurl camp, I heard someone called my name.
A very Familiar voice.
No matter how many voice I've heard in my life, I immediately know one voice that I will recognize immediately.
"Xiao!"
I can feel my heart skipped it's beat out of fear, It's M/N's voice, Did he get in Trouble?
I didn't hesitate to teleport immediately beside him only to see he was holding a....A Cake?

I look around to see I was at the Wangshuu Inn in the Balcony where I first met M/N' and where he confessed to me.
"Happy Birthday Xiao."
He greeted me with a sweet smile on his face, I sighed in relief and I flicked his forehead with my Finger.
He hissed in pain and rubbed his forehead where I hit him.
"Ow! Why did you do that for Xiao?"
"Stay strong, stay gold"
"I thought you were in Danger, but when I came here I only see a cake and Almond tofu, What so dangerous in here that you needed to call out my name?"
I asked him in a stern voice as I cross my arms over my chest.
He chuckled at me.
"You're Almond Tofu has almost eaten by somebody else that is Danger."
He joked at me as I sighed at him but I'm relieved he wasn't in danger.
"You don't have to fear, you don't have to fear.....Waiting"
M/N' has always been the opposite of me, He's Energetic, Friendly, Annoying little piece of sh- I mean Noisy and Reliable.
But he has always been there for me whenever I needed someone even if I didn't tell him or I didn't ask him too.
He'll immediately be there and won't hesitate to abandon anything just to be with me.
So Opposite of me...While I am here so busy fulfilling my contract between Rex Lapis that I can't always be there for him but I will try my best to spend my time with him as Possible after all, He is still a human...There will be a day where he will leave me in this world but I will immediately be there to protect him. The problem with him is...He doesn't like asking for help.
He will only call me if he wasn't in Danger and he will never call me if he was really in Danger just because he didn't want me to see getting hurt because of him.

Yes, I hate that part of him because I can't understand human feelings and therefore I can't tell if something is going on with him or not.
I mean it is my job and priority to protect him with all of my life why is it so hard for him to understand that?
He never told me his problems that's why I am not be able to help him the way I wanted to help him.
But every time I tried to help him...I've always messed things up since it's my first time being in a relationship with a human.
It always makes me paranoid, What if he's gonna leave me because I can't treat him right? What if he's gonna die because he didn't managed to call out my name?
Why did he loved me in the first place?
A heart like his is so pure, so gentle, Understanding and so kind...
Unlike a A Heart like mine, who is a coward, Weak and is already tainted by evilness...How could he still loved me?
I don't know how to comfort somebody, I don't know how I can treat them like they wanted to be and I don't know anything about Understanding human feelings....but All I know is that I have these warm feelings inside of my heart whenever I am around him, I wanted to protect him so badly that I will gladly sacrifice my life in order to protect him but I hope that protecting him is something he will noticed of how much he is so important to me and my life.

M/N'S POV
Today is Xiao's birthday!

I'm now currently baking a cake that is made of Almond and Milk, Like Almond Tofu but cake Version.
While making a cake, I started humming random times when suddenly negative thoughts starts coming through my head.
'Will Xiao like this cake? Will Xiao even like this celebration? Will Xiao even comes when I call him? What if the cake doesn't taste good?'
I asked myself as I starts biting my thumb out of habit whenever I get nervous.
Now that I think about it, It's been 3 years since me and Xiao are in a relationship....But now he seems busy recently...Did he get annoyed at me because I was being to talkative? Noisy? To energetic?
He's so Strong, Kind and Very Protective of me...but I can't even do anything to repay him back...
I mean he's so strong that he managed to destroy 3 who else cls of Hillichurls in 5 seconds while I can't even defeat a single Hillichurl.
I sighed to myself and let the cake go to the oven and watch it cook.
I was never gifted a vision or was trained by a skillful swordsmanship.

I am only a Rich Merchant and Tactician not a fighter, I've always been so weak physically that I can't protect Xiao like he always protects me.
I wanted to be strong enough to protect him from any monsters and I want him to rely on me too. That's why I don't call his name whenever I needed help because I don't want to get protected, I want to protect people too!

But in the end I always fail but at least no one's hurt unless if Xiao founds out who beat me up the next day I'll wake up that they have gotten beaten up by somebody.

Anyways...Does Xiao never felt ashamed? Having someone a weak Mortal like me worthy being his lover? I mean he can find someone who is strong to protect him but he still accept me...why?
What so special about me that he like about?
His so Reliable, Strong Physically and short- I mean Loyal...Someone like me who's weak at everything can never be a perfect match for him.
But even then, I'll try my best to stay beside him and make him feel he is the most special person in the world and I hope he noticed it because it shows how much he is so important to me and my life.

As I finish making my cake and starts decorating it...I hope he like the cake I made if not then I understand.

Author's POV
Xiao is now eating the cake that M/N' bake, While M/N' who was nervously fiddling his fingers under the table in nervousness.
"Hold fast hope"
"...Does it taste good?"
M/N' asked nervously, Xiao looked at M/N' who seemed nervous and was waiting for his reply.
Xiao look away with a red blush in his cheeks.
"It...taste good."
Xiao blurted out as his ears starts to get red, M/N' noticed it as he chuckled at his lover's reply.
"Thank you for the compliment Xiao."
M/N' told him with a soft smile I'm his face as he proceed to eat the cake he baked which he didn't noticed Xiao was staring at him.
Admiring his lover's body features and his squishy cheeks that he had an urged to pinch them but he can't.
"All your love is all I've ever known"
As he take out something from his pocket and put it in M/N's hair, M/N' frozen and let Xiao put something on his hair.
M/N' turned around to look at Xiao to see had red cheeks in his face and had a small smile in his gentle expression.
"You don't really need to make a cake and celebrate a birthday for me after all, To be able to spend time you is enough for me."
Xiao told M/N' who's face starts to get red as he noticed Xiao was puting crystalflies on his {h/c} hair with a softened expression on Xiao's face.
This made M/N' smiled brightly at his lover and hugged him so right that he didn't want to let go.
Xiao hugged his lover back with a soft smile on his face.
"I will always miss this feeling, M/N'..."
It's been so many years have passed as he was collecting Crystalflies and Qingxin flowers for his lover.
As he went to the spot where he would always spend time with his lover.
"M/N, It's my birthday today. There was nothing to do for me today. So I decided I would find a crystalfly for you to put in your hair. I thought it would nice."
Xiao said with a gentle smile on his face.
"The next thing I knew, I had caught several more than I intended, I hope you do not mind."
Xiao told to his lover as he out the crystalflies on his Lover's grave and The Qingxin flowers he collected.
It's been 100 years since his lover died from an Old age, M/N was still a human he didn't find very surprising that M/N died.
As Xiao sighed deeply once again as he let his tears brimmed down from his eyes.
"I do not care much for Birthdays and Celebrations, and I do not wish to be Around large groups of people."
Xiao said talking to tell grave that will never answer him back but he didn't mind at all.
"To be able to spend time with you is enough."
Xiao mumbled as Rain starts pouring down on him as he didn't even tried to run away to find a shelter.
He just wanted to spend time with lover in his birthday.
When he suddenly felt the rain wasn't pouring down on him, He lifted his head to see a {f/c} Umbrella towering above him.
And when he turned his head around, He saw the same {e/c} colored eyes and {h/c} colored hair was the owner of the Umbrella.
He had a concern look on his face
"Mr. You shouldn't let yourself get soaked on the rain, You'll get a flu you know?"
The {h/c} haired boy told him with a worried expression on his face as he removed his jacket and use it to cover Xiao's soaked body and pulled him inside of the umbrella the {h/c} haired boy was holding.
Xiao still had a suprised expression on his face as he let his tears brimming down from his face.
The {h/c} haired boy simply smiled at him remembering his past memories of his lover.
"I'm here now, Xiao...You won't even alone anymore."
M/N' reassured him as Xiao nodded with tears brimming down from his eyes.
"Welcome home, M/N."
