I sat in detention flicking my lighter and running my fingers through the glowing flame. I look up hearing a small "pst" from the door, I see my crush stick her head through the detention door.
I smile at them, sitting up straighter and putting the lighter in my pocket, I raise an eyebrow at her trying to keep quiet.
She motions for me to go to her holding up her finger to her mouth for you to be quiet. I smiled and nod slightly standing to my feet hoping the chair doesn't scrape along the floor. I look over to the teacher who was sound asleep at the desk. I smirk at her still standing in the door waiting for me. She shakes her head but I ignore her.
I pull out a sharpie and draw a moustache on the teacher along with a beard, I was about to write by my name on their forehead but the teacher opens their eyes. My eyes widen and I bolt towards the door dropping the sharpie in the process. She quickly grabs my hand, pulling me as we run down the hall.
The teacher behind us screaming but we were too far out of school to hear them. Once we were far enough away we both stopped trying to catch our breath again, once we did we look at each other and burst out laughing.
"What did you do that for ophelia?" I ask her, she was the only person in school who had the same style sense as me. And I followed after my father and uncles with their emo style. We didn't talk often but when we did I couldn't help but be captivated by her blue eyes. She was beautiful but I know I couldn't love her.
I'm a girl and so is she..
"You looked bored, I had to save the princess" I giggle and we started walking, I didn't know where but I was with her so I didn't care.
"Princess?" I asked raising my eyebrow. "Yep, emo princess" I smile with a small laugh. "Do you want come to the diner with me, get milkshakes?" My heart pounded in excitement.
"Yeah.. I'd like that" I knew my dad would be mad at me for being mate home but it was worth it, I had to take the shot.
We walked to the diner taking a seat at a table, "good afternoon what can I get you two" the waitress asked with her usually wide smile.
"Uh two chocolate milkshakes please." She knew what was my favourite? No it was probably a guess.
"Of course, I'll get them right out to you" we thank her before turning our attention back to each other.
"How was detention?" She started conversation, she was definitely the more confident one out of the two of us.
"Not too bad, I didn't get anything done" she smiled widely. "Didn't expect you to anyways" I couldn't help but occasionally catch myself staring at her. I was comfortable in my sexuality, I'm straight.
But there was something about her that made my heart flutter, I was up late at night with her on my mind. Not in a creepy way, she was making me question myself.
The milkshakes were brought out to us, we thanked the waitress again before sipping on them. "I heard chocolate was your favourite so I thought I'd get you one" I blushed and looked down trying to hide it.
"Yeah.. I do" she giggled and threw whipped cream at me, it landed on my nose. I gasped laughing as well. "Oh you're so done phelia" I scooped some up on my finger and flicked it back at her.
We continued this for a while laughing loudly, I didn't care that people were around us, I haven't laughed like this in ages. She made me forget about everything going on, she unknowingly makes me happy.
We now leaned closer to each other giggling to ourselves, it was only then did I realise how close our faces actually were. Would she be my first kiss?
"You got whipped cream in my hair that's gone suck to get out-" She cut me off by leaning in and pressing her lips to mine, I was surprised but kisses back. When we pulled back from the kiss she was blushing deeply, I'm sure I was too.
"You worry to much, y/n.." I sat back in my chair while we kept eye contact. "I- I didn't know you were-"
"We'll I'm bi, I've wanted to do it for a while but I wasn't sure if you felt the same, so I took the chance" she explained not one losing her smile. "I'm glad you took the chance" I told her.
"Y/n" I spin around hearing my name to see my dad and his bandmates sat in the booth behind us. I felt like I wanted to cry, "come sit with us, your girlfriend too" dad said moving over to make room for us
I looked back as ophelia silently asking her, she nodded and we both got up to sit with them. They smiled widely at the two of us, were they excepting?
"Hi, I'm y/n's dad, call me Justin"
"I'm ophelia, nice to meet you. I'm y/n's girlfriend" I smiled at her and nodded slightly. "These are my uncles too, my dad's bandmates" they each greeted her. It was nice to know I'm accepted and I think it helped me come to terms with my sexuality too..
"You owe me 10 bucks. I told you they were gonna kiss" vinny says holding his hand out to Ricky who rolled his eyes and handed him a 10 dollar bill.
"You bet on me?" I asked. Vinny made a 'duh' face popping a fry in his mouth. "You were eyeing her up the minute you walked in. Practically drooling over her" I blushed hiding behind my hands.
"It was cute don't worry y/n" I rolled my eyes at Chris and stole some of his fries. "Hey! Get your own" he pouted but I giggled and fed one to ophelia as well as eating one myself
This day couldn't get any better..
