VINNY
It was already decided. After I tell Sandro and Simon about my situation, we would get married right away. Ate Mari's older brother is a judge in practice so he would be the one to wed us. I am nervous as fuck. Marriage is not a joke. I am literally getting married ahead of my older brothers without my parents idea. Like hell. I am screwed once they find out about it.
"Ano ba kasi ang sasabihin mo Vinny?" Sandro asked with his furrowed eyebrows. If I was in the mood right now, I would have laughed at his tagalog accent but I am nervous as fuck so I couldn't.
Simon was just looking at me while relaxing on the bed, his legs crossed together. He looked like he has something to say but remained quiet.
"Come here." I signaled Sandro to approach me. I walked to Simon's bed and held his hands.
"What the hell Vinny?!" He exclaimed.
"Ang OA mo!" I hissed at him and took Sandro's hands too.
Sandro made a face. "What the hell are you doing?"
"I got someone pregnant." I mumbled.
"What?" Both of them replied at the same time, their forehead knotting.
I sighed. "I got Spencer pregnant."
"For real?" Simon questioned.
I made a face. "Mukha ba akong nagbibiro?"
Sandro let go of my hands and crossed his arms on his chest, looking at me. It looked like I was looking at mom at the same time.
"So ano gagawin mo?" He asked.
I let out a deep sigh. "I am marrying her pero civil wedding." I replied.
Simon stared at me. "So you're actually being serious like you got your best friend pregnant?"
"Oo nga. Ang kulit." Sandro replied, rolling his eyes.
"Ikaw si Vinny?" -Simon.
I frowned at them. "Guys. Were here to discuss me."
"Special ka?" Simon retorted.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"Please help me out. I do not know what to do."
"Easy. Tell our parents." Sandro replied.
"No! Not now. Spencer hasn't told her mom yet."
Simon raised his brows. "So ano gagawin namin?"
"Be the witness on my civil wedding."
"Who will stand for Spencer?" Sandro asked.
"Kuya Alexis and Ate Mari."
"They're still together huh." Simon muttered. He used to have a crush on Ate Mari. But who cares. I am going to tell Avery once I find out he is still hung up on her.
I went in Spencer's apartment after my brother's went ahead in Laoag. She wasn't answering her phone so I just used the spare key she gave me last time.
I found her lying in her bed, sleeping. A smile crept on my face. I removed my shoes and sweatshirt then joined her on bed.
Spencer probably felt my presence and squinted her eyes, looking at me. "Sorry. I was feeling really sleepy." She said with an apologetic look on her face.
I pulled her close to me. "Sleep some more. We can re-schedule the check-up some other time." I told her.
Tinignan niya ako at siniksik ang sarili niya sa akin. Oh hell. I missed this kind of warmth that she has.
"I am really glad you are with me Vinny. I do not know what to do without you."
Same Spencer. I do not know what to do if it isn't you that I end up with. I sighed.
I do not know when I started to develop these kind of feelings for her. Maybe when I kissed her during our prom. Or maybe when I got into a fight in school because someone is bullying her. Or maybe in between our laughter, I found myself being stuck in those hazel eyes of hers.
"I'll go back home later and when I come back, we'll get married." I told her.
She laughed. "Isn't it weird Vincent?"
"What's weird?" I asked curiously, swiping away the strands of her hair.
Spencer sighed. "Among the people and relationships we have encountered in our lives, we still ended up back here."
"Is is a good thing or bad thing?"
She chuckled. "I do not know Vinny. Sometimes when I am with you, kapag may nangyayari sa atin every time we meet for the past nine years, it just felt right. Ang weird di'ba?"
I shook my head. "No. I do not think it is weird Spence. Though it is weird that we have allowed ourselves to be tempted with each other when we were in a relationship with other people."
Spencer laughed then looked at me. "Kiss me Vincent. Kiss me good." She said, as if she was begging.
I obliged and kissed her lips. She was aggressive in between and I think it was her hormones talking. But Spencer has an aggressive nature from the start. I liked that part of her.
"I got someone pregnant." I announced during dinner in front of my family.
Dad choked on his water while mom widened her eyes.
"What? How?" Mom asked.
I groaned. "Mom. Seriously? How?"
"I am sure you know how sweetheart." Dad said.
Mom rolled her eyes. "Who is the girl William Vincent and how far is she?"
I scratched my head. "She's almost two months mom but I swear, I only knew about it weeks ago!" I exclaimed.
"You were in Singapore two months ago Vinny. Is she from there?" Dad asked.
"No." I answered immediately.
"Who is she Vinny?" My mom asked, looking at me.
"I can't tell you yet." I replied.
Mom widened her eyes at me. "Are you hearing this?" She glanced at pops. "He doesn't want to introduce us to the mother of our first grandchild."
"Hey! I don't mean it that way!" I exclaimed.
"Eh kailan mo ipapakilala? Kapag nanganak na?" She hissed.
"Mom calm down." Sandro spoke.
She looked at him. "Why? Is Louise pregnant too?"
Sandro rolled his eyes. "We're only dating mom. Geez. Please don't get ahead of yourself." I rolled my eyes at the back of my mind. Dating lang daw.
"Bring her next week Vinny," Dad suddenly spoke from his seat. "We are going to meet this woman weather you or she likes it or not." He said with finality on his voice.
I gulped. He was hella serious.
Two days later, Simon and I drove back in Vigan. Sandro too but he was in his own car with Ate Louise. They are exclusively dating na daw so I call her ate.
"What does it feel like to get married?" Simon asked beside me.
"Scary?" I replied.
He looked at me a bit then back on the road. "Sabi na nga ba kayo din sa huli eh." He said.
"Why are you guys vouching for us?" It wasn't just ate Mari. Mom too keeps on bugging me to court Spencer before. Even Sandro. Now Simon.
Simon shrugged his shoulders. "You obviously like each other from the start."
I made a face, pretending to deny it. "We do not!" I exclaimed.
"Keep on denying it Vinny." He replied, rolling his eyes.
I ignored him.
We arrived an hour later in the restaurant we rented. It would only be me, Spencer, Simon, Sandro, Kuya Alexis, Ate Mari and her brother who will wed us. We'll have a dinner after the civil wedding. I feel nervous. I saw ate Mari get out of kuya Alexis' car holding a white dress which was probably for Spencer.
"Is she here na?" She asked.
I shook my head. Sandro is so matagal.
"Tawagan mo nga si kuya. Ang tagal niya." I asked Simon. Sandro was supposed to come here pagkatapos niyang ihatid si ate Louise.
Simon frowned. "Ew. No. What if he is having sex right now?" He retorted.
I made a face. "Please don't put images in my head."
We had no choice but to go to Spencer's house because the judge was already there. Spencer pointed Louise's room which was across hers.
"Ah. Porn." Simon muttered.
They were making out as soon as we opened the door. No. I wouldn't call that making out. Not in my dictionary.
