Y/n's POV
I was walking my golden retriever, monkey, through the park while listening to some music. I let him off his leash letting him roam around for a little like I have always done.
"monkey!" I yelled as I watched him chase after a squirrel. I began to run to catch him, I yelled his name but he was too determined to catch the squirrel.
"monkey! come back!" when I finally caught up with him, I stopped in my tracks when I saw someone was knelt infront of him, petting his head.
"monkey huh?" the man asked, he was wearing beaten up boots and red plaid trousers with a striped black and white shirt, he was hot that's for sure. I took out my headphones and turn off my music.
"yeah.. my little sister demanded I call him monkey so here we are." we both laugh lightly.
"i'm Remington." He spoke holding his hand out for me to shake.
"Y/n. nice to meet you Remington." I shake his hand firmly, clipping monkey's leash back on.
"will you join me on a walk maybe?" I smiled at him before responding. "i'd like that.." he nodded and we started walking through the park, we came to a pond which I'd usually do a lap of before going home, it was weird for me walking the pond with someone else when I'm normally alone.
"so.. what music were you listening to?" I shrugged watching monkey stare intently at the birds around him. "just some my chemical romance. nothing too major i guess." he looked surprised. "you listen to my chem?"
"of course, they're my favourite band. favourite song by them?" I asked assuming he listened to them too.
"ambulance or sharpest lives is a good one."
"ooo theyre good ones, boy division is one of my favourites i think." he smirked. "yeah that one is good, what are you doing this saturday night?"
"are you asking me on a date Remington?" I teased with a playful smile.
"if you want it to be a date. meet me here at 6.."
"it's a date. i'll see you then." he laughs and kisses my cheek before disappearing. I shook my head slightly watching him run off, he seemed in a hurry.
"come on monkey let's get home.." he barked and started walking home, I sat on the couch watching a movie with monkey curled up beside me.
I was petting his head when I noticed a piece of paper tucked under his collar. I frowned and picked it up, reading it out loud to myself.

I laughed loudly shaking my head trying to figure out when he put that in there. I texted the number hoping it wasn't a fake, I like him. He made me smile a lot today and I greatly appreciated it.
