ISAAC'S POV :
It's been a week since we came back from Paris and everyone is busy with the works of the hotel. I don't even have time to stare at my girl Ashley.
I massaged my temples and closed my eyes after working for four hours.
When someone knocked the door, I told them to enter without opening my eyes.
"Sir, the investors have arrived. We can start the meeting in ten minutes" my assistant Jordan said.
"Thanks Jordan, can you bring me some advil" I said while massaging my forehead.
"Right away sir" he said and I heard him walk away.
After some time, I heard someone walking in. I opened my eyes and realised it was Ashley.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her.
"Jordan said you have headache so I brought you lavender tea" she said and placed the tea cup in front of me.
"You are already busy with the project, why are doing this?" I questioned her, but I took a sip of the tea.
"I am, but if you fall sick I'll have extra work to do.. so I better make sure that you are fine" she said and continued to look at her iPad.
After finishing the tea, we both went to the meeting.
It was a meeting with an investor.
When I entered the noisy room, it turned quiet.
"Let's begin" I said and one of my men summarised the benefits of investing in the project for more than an hour.
After the presentation, I asked the investors,
"So, what do you think about the project?" I questioned while looking at Ashley who was deep in thoughts.
"It's great but we don't think we'll get profits soon enough, it might take more than 3 years for profits to roll on" one of them said.
"Okay if you do think like that, you don't need to invest in this. I'll handle it" I said and left the room.
When I was sitting in my room, Ashley walked in.
"Why did you walk out? We could have convinced him to invest" she said.
"They should have been convinced by the presentation, if that doesn't....then the collaboration won't be stable" I said.
I could tell she was hesitant about my decision.
"Trust me, we don't need an investor who is doubtful about our project" I said to which she nodded, unsure about my decision.
The day went by fast and by the time I finished work, it was almost seven in the evening.
I closed my laptop and stretched myself.
When I packed my things and came out, I was surprised to see Ashley working.
"Why are you still working?" I asked as I walked towards her desk.
"It's raining and I will be drenched by the time I reach bus stop, so I decided to stay back to finish some work" she said and continued to type on her desktop.
"Don't you have a car? I thought my employers have generous salary" I said to which she rolled her eyes.
"I have some debts to clear, till then I don't have the luxury of owning a car or an apartment" she said.
"Alright, come on. I'll drop you " I said. But I want to take her to my home.
She looked at me and switched off her system.
We both entered the elevator together.
"What if the power shuts down and we get stuck here for the whole night" I asked while the elevator was descending smoothly.
"Don't be ridiculous, all the elevators here are upgraded, so if the elevator malfunctions or power stops it'll automatically open to the nearest floor for us to escape" she stated. Actually I was not expecting this.
"I wanted to protect you in my arms while I get injured so that you can take care of me" I mumbled.
"You can dream on" she said and rolled her eyes.
We walked towards the parking, the company was almost empty with only security guards around.
When I opened the car door, I heard a slight sneeze and someone mumbling.
"Wait in the car, I'll be right back" I said and walked towards the noise.
"I'll come with you" she said and followed me.
I finally reached the place where a drenched young man was pleading with security.
"What's happening here?" I asked to which both of the turned to me. The youngman looked hopeful after looking at me.
"Sir, this youngman has been coming to meet you for a week, even when his appointments has been rejected" the security said.
"Why do you want to meet me?" I asked the youngman who was shivering while holding a file.
"Hello sir, I've wanted to meet you for days to talk about a business investment" he said.
I looked at him silently for a few minutes and turned around to walk.
When he didn't follow me, I asked "Why are you not following me? I don't want to talk about business in the rain"
With that all the three of us went back to my office.
I went into my resting room and brought him a towel, shirt and pants while he stood in the middle of the room awkwardly.
"Dry yourself and change your clothes" I said and pointed my bathroom.
He mumbled a thank you and went inside.
"Why did you? Ashley began to question while I held up my hand.
"We'll talk later, can you please make a cup of coffee now,order some food for three and tell them to deliver it in an hour.
When he came out, he took his file.
I made him drink coffee and began.
"So, what's your business idea?" I asked while leaning back on my chair.
"It's about opening a k-pop culture centre" he said. K-pop? Isn't Amour carzy about k-pop?
"So tell me why is it a good idea for me to invest in it? Show me what's in it for me. You've got an hour to convince me" I said and glanced at the watch.
He began to explain his idea, he showed how profitable was this business. He really impressed me with his idea.
After finishing it, he looked at me hopefully.
"Why didn't you invest it yourself by taking a loan or something? Why did you want to meet me? I asked him.
"First of all, it needs way too much investment and it needed a brand like 'Knights Corporation' to be famous" he said.
"Alright, it's way past my office time. So why don't you come tomorrow and my planning head will talk with you, meanwhile you'll be incharge of the whole project" I said and looked at him who smiled for the first time since I've met him.
"Thank you sir, Thank you so much" he said and turned around to leave while I stopped him.
"Stop, you better join us for dinner. I don't want you to faint on the way" I said and looked at Ashley who nodded and brought the food.
He looked as if he was going to reject my offer.
"You better sit, it's already way past my dinner time" I said to which he sat down.
I helped Ashley in setting up dinner. We all began to eat in a complete silence.
When we almost finished, I questioned him.
"So, tell me what pushed you to meet me and make me invest in your idea?" I questioned him.
When he hesitated, I continued.
"Just know that, tomorrow before you reach the office, I'll have your whole history in my hands" I said.
"I lost my parents in an accident, the same accident which turned my little brother paralysed, he has other complications too which needs more money, so here I am" he said and put down his spoon.
"You can leave, make sure to be here on time" I said and waved my hands.
He thanked and left.
"Why did you..." Ashley asked as soon as he left. I know what she is going to ask. Why I refused to explain to an investor while I readily accepted to invest on an idea given by a stranger.
"Business strategy" I said and kept the file inside a drawer.
I held her hand and walked out of the office.
