After she posted the tik tok, she started getting ready for bed.
She took out her contacts, whipped off her makeup and changed into an oversized hoodie and bootie shorts.
She laid down on her bed and went on her phone.
she scrolled through tik tok and when an incredibly funny video came up she laughed so hard she accidentally excited out of the app.
instead her phone took her to her calendar.
where she saw that tomorrow was the due date for her art project.
she scurried out of her bed, grabbed her glasses and art supplies and started to sketch.
her mind was empty so she linked her computer to her bluetooth speaker, she put on her chill song playlist and it played softly as she drew and re-drew her sketch.
she suddenly got a face time call.
she checked it not sure who was calling her at this time.

she accepted it but pointed her camera to her ceiling.
"hello?" she said
"hi! why are you still active? you should be asleep"
"i'm flattered by the concern but i have an art project due tomorrow" she answered calmly
"oh ok, well what are you drawing?"
"it's kinda not really good, i'm shit at perspective and rushing because i had 2 weeks to do this and i'm cramping it into like 4-6 hours"
"why 4 to 6?"
"well if i make it in 4 i can get like 2 hours of sleep and if i make it in 6 i can get like 30 minutes"
"why not make it in 3 or 2"
"well I'm not gonna make it in 2" she said, with absolutely no anger in her voice
he stayed quiet for a bit
"why is your camera pointed to your ceiling"
"because i'm wearing my glasses and i don't like how i look in them" she said calmly, now focused on getting the correct color of acrilic paint in the correct places.
"i bet you look very pretty with glasses" he said also really calming
she blushed at his statement
"well you're not going to find out" she said with a smile

"no" she said in a sing song voice

she let out an anoyed huff and turned her camera to face her.
"happy?" she asked unamused
"i was right!" he said in victory
she turned her head a little bit in a "are you sure about that" manner
he then turned of his camera and took a screenshot
"no!" she said after the picture was taken and hid her face in her hands
he laughed
"whyyy di you do this to meeeeeeee" she said slipping out of her chair in despair
he just laughed harder
valory laughed softly and went back to focusing.
"have you eaten yet?" he asked after a bit if silence
"uhhhh no i did the tik tok and then remembered i had this due" she said still focused on the line-work
they continued chatting about random stuff for about 10 minutes
"hey go to your front door" he said trying to but failing to hide his excitement
"why?" she asked confused while standing up and grabbing her phone.
she tip-toed downstairs as to not wake up her siblings and opened the front door.
she saw nothing but then looked down.
a postmates bag was standing neatly at her doorstep.
she audibly awed and grabbed the bag, quickly running upstairs.
"thank you thank you thank you thank you" she said as soon as she closed her bedroom door
"it's no problem, i wasn't sure what you would like so i just got your order from the time we went to mcdonald's" he said smiling
"why am i like kinda fucking in love with you right now" she said sitting cross legged in her chair
he blushed from her words but thankfully for him the dark lit room helped him cover it up
"you are literally a saint, god's gift, an angel sent from heaven, when you die, god will retire and pick you to step in for him" she rambled
"i'm not even religious but still" she continued making mark laugh
she put her phone up on the pile of books she had laying around facing it towards her.
she opened the bag and got a whiff of the delicious content inside of it.
there where the glorious 10 peace chicken nuggets with the sauce that she liked.
(i'm not gonna specify the sauce because irl i kinda hate all of the sauces at mcd)
she opened up the nugget box and bit into it
she chewed it a little and then proceeded to do chefs kisses.
"whoever invented chicken nuggets can have my firstborn" valory said no joking tone laced in her voice
the seriousness of her voice made mark go into a fit of laughter
he laughed so hard he started to coughing
"are you ok? you're not even the one eating and still choked" she said making mark laugh even harder.
"I'm dying" he said crying from laughing
val laughed a long with him, covering her mouth as she chewed.
"but seriously thank you" she said sincerely
"it's no problem val" he said smiling at the camera
val visibly aws
"sorry my heart just fucking exploded"

"it was making space for you" val said doing the fuck boy face
mark couldn't hide his blush anymore after her weird pick up line
he placed his head in his hands
you couldn't tell if he was laughing or crying.
val let out a chuckle, happy that she dared to say that.

"i'm tired" mark said
"then go to sleep" val said focused on the peace of paper in front of her
"i don't want to leave you alone"
val giggled her head shaking left and right
"then stay on call" she said
"sleep call" she continued with a smile, she kept her eyes on the paper so she had more confidence.
"ok yeah let's do that" he said looking like the embodiment of the :] emoji
"i'll call you in 10, i need to get ready for bed" he continues getting up from his desk
"ok" she smiled
as he ended the call a rush of release left her body
WHERE THE FUCK DID SHE GET THIS CONFIDENCE FROM?!
"where was this confidence when i was in middle school" she thought out loud, looking up at the ceiling and then back down at her paper.
on the other end of the now shortly ended call.
mark was brushing his teeth and thinking the same thing.
"was that to much?"
"did i invade her privacy by getting her food?"
the only thing that kept him from spiraling into a deep abyss of self deprecation was her smile.
she smiled through everything, laughed at his jokes and was so fun to be around.
he couldn't stop smiling thinking about the cheesy and bad pick up lines they threw around back and forth.
a sadder feeling came around when he remembered that she was saying all of those things jokingly, but he pushed those thoughts away and continued to get ready.
about ten minutes pass and he calls her once again, the phone now leaning against his night stand.
"hi" he said smiling while looking at the girl across the screen.
"hello chika chika dance boy" she said smiling
"NO!" he said and threw his head back
"it's ok meow meow, no need to feel embarrassed"
he started to fake cry while murmuring a long noooooo
she giggled and leaned back in her chair
she looked at the flushed boy on the other end of the call
it went silent
"do people call you boo?" she asked
"yeah, sure"
"mr. boo?"
"uhuh" he said happily
"ran?"
"yep"
"ranboob?" she said after being silent for a couple seconds
"sadly yes"
she laughed at his response
"do you have a preference?"
"no i don't really care"
"i'm going to call you boo" she said smiling and looking back down at her paper
"that's fine by me...the fans might go crazy tho"
"why?" she asked confused
"have you seen twitter? there's a shipname of us!"
"wait really" she said and checked twitter
