Jezzabelle's POV
Monday finally rolled around and I was getting ready for work at my new job. After I was ready I walked to the kitchen and fixed myself a bowl of cereal for breakfast.
After I was finished I put my bowl in the sink and grabbed my keys. I drove to Xander's house and walked up to the front door. "Hello Sam" I greeted the butler when he opened the door. He nodded and pointed towards Xander's office. I smiled and walked down the hallway. I heard talking inside the room and stopped at the door. I jumped when I heard Xander's powerful voice speak, "I am giving him a week to deliver the money, if he does not deliver by then we will attack." he yelled. A chorus of "Yes boss" sounded throughout the room. I lifted my hand and knocked on the door.
"I thought I said no one was to disturb me" Xander yelled, his voice shaking the walls. I stepped back and was about to walk away when the door swung open. Greg stood there and bowed his head a little when he saw me. "Send them in," Xander said in an angry voice. I walked in and his back was turned to me, "You know the consequences for disobeying my orders" he said in a low scary voice. My eyes widened, "I'm sorry" I mumbled, my eyes filling with tears. "Send him to the cells" he said to one of his, I gasped and started backing away.
"Boss, it is the queen" Greg said to Xander, he quickly turned around and his eyes softened. "Baby, I am sorry I did not know it was you," he said. He walked over and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my lips and then picked me up. "I will be back" he announced to the room. We walked out and I laid my head on his shoulder.
Josh was sitting on the couch waiting to leave. Xander put me down and I picked Josh up. "I will see you later," I said to Xander. "I am so sorry baby" he said again. I nodded and then shook my head. "It was a misunderstanding," I said. He frowned and walked over kissing my lips, "I love you and be careful. I love you Josh" He said, kissing both of heads. "Love you too" I said. Josh waved as we walked out the front door and to my car.
Once we got to the school Josh was asleep in the back. I carried him inside and went to the office. They told me where my classroom was and I went there. I opened the door and found a small room with little chairs. A rug and a TV was in the corner and a playing center in the other corner. I sat my bag on the desk and Josh stirred in my arms. "Mommy," he whined. I smiled and hugged him. "Want to check out the new toys" I whispered to him. He shot up and looked around, I chuckled and put him on his feet. He ran to the playing center and started playing with the toys.
Soon kids started showing up. After everyone arrived I directed them to the rug. "We are going to watch this video and learn a song to help us understand," I told them. I switched the lights off and turned on the video.
When lunch came around the students lined up at the door and I led them to the cafeteria. I brought my lunch bag with me and handed Josh his. I sat in the back where most of the teachers were sitting.
I looked up and saw Josh walking towards me. He sat in front of me and started eating. I smiled and began eating as well. "Kids don't eat over here" I looked beside me and saw a woman about my age looking at us. "He is mine," I told her. She gasped and giggled, "Really" she said. I chuckled and nodded my head."I am Kathrine," she said, sticking her hand in front of me. I smiled and took her hand, "Jezzabelle." I said. "And this is Josh" I said pointing to him.She smiled at him and waved.
After lunch finished I took the children back to class and we had naptime. Josh was just sitting at his desk looking around. He laid his head down and sighed.
"Did you have fun today?" I asked Josh, looking at him through the rearview mirror. He nodded and looked out his window. I sighed knowing he was lying. My poor baby.
I pulled into Xander's driveway and got out. I got Josh and carried him inside.The house was quiet when I walked in. I walked upstairs and changed Josh into his play clothes. As we were walking towards the stairs a loud shot rang out. I pushed Josh behind me and looked around, Xander came running up the stairs and dragged us to his room. "Stay in here and only come out when I come back" he said. I nodded and put Josh in the closet first. "Shoot anyone who is not me or Greg" he said handing me a gun. I looked at the gun with wide eyes and nodded. He kissed my head and ran out of the room.
Thirty minute later and the shooting had stopped for about ten minutes. "Stay here, I will be back" I told Josh. He nodded. I walked out still holding the gun in my hands. I walked down stairs and looked around. Dead bodies laid around the floor and I cringed. It looked like a war zone.
I walked into the kitchen and gasped when I saw Xander laying on the ground with blood coming out of his side. I screamed bloody murder and ran to his side. "Help," I yelled. His eyes were shut and he was not moving. "Xander, wake up" I said, picking his head up and sitting it in his lap. His eyes opened the slightest bit and his mouth moved, "I love you" he mumbled before his eyes shut again and he went limp. I cried harder and shook him trying to wake him up.
"Jezzabelle" I looked up and saw Greg standing there. "We need an ambulance," I cried. He nodded and pulled his phone out. "They're on their way," he said.
Once they got her they loaded him on a stretcher and rushed him to the hospital. I ran out of the kitchen and noticed all the bodies were gone. "Mommy" I looked towards the stairs and saw Josh standing there. I picked him up and ran out of the house. I put him in his seat and sped all the way to the hospital.
"Family of Mr. Mortteni." I looked up and saw a doctor standing there with a clipboard. I walked over with Josh in my hands. "I am his girlfriend," I said. He nodded, "He is in a coma and we don't know exactly when he will wake up. Fortunately the bullet hit his side and came out his back, missing all the internal organs, major arteries, and his spine." he explained. I nodded, "Can we see him?" I asked. He nodded and led me down a hallway. He opened the door and I walked in.
Tears sprung to my eyes when I saw him lying in the bed with machines hooked up to him. He looked peaceful. I stopped by his bed and sat Josh on the floor. "Hi," I said, grabbing his hand. Josh pulled on my shirt and I picked him back up. "Daddy sick?" he asked. I started crying harder, "Yeah baby, daddy is sick" I whispered to him. He laid his head on my shoulder.
I sat on the little space on the bed and put Josh on top of Xander's legs. Josh curled up and snuggled to his legs. I laid my head on his chest and wrapped my arms around his waist.
I was not planning on moving until he woke up.
*One Week Later*
"Boss lady you need to shower" I looked up and saw Emily standing there with Greg. Shook my head and laid my head back on Xander's chest. I have only moved from my spot to use the bathroom and occasionally eat, but other than that I was with Xander. I spent most of my week crying over the thought that he might not wake up. Emily and Greg have been taking care of Josh.
"Please" she pleaded, I sighed and stood from my spot walking to the bathroom. I took the quickest shower possible and put on some of Xander's sweatpants and shirts.I got back in bed with Xander.
Right before I could get in bed with him Emily stopped me, "how about you come to the cafeteria with me" she said. I looked at Xander and hesitantly nodded my head. I kissed Xander's head,"I'll be back" I whispered. I slipped on my crocs and walked out with Emily.
"He will wake up" she told me as we walked down the hall. I nodded and looked down. It is weird talking with her since she considers me her 'boss lady'. We walked to the cafeteria and she got a drink.
We were walking back and almost got to his room when I froze in my spot, "Where the hell am I and where is my Belle" his loud voice boomed.
