I opened my eyes and blinked a few times to adjust to the sun starting to rise out my bedroom window. I look over at my sleeping boyfriend who was slightly snoring. Just then I remembered why I went to sleep so early last night...
It was Eijirou's birthday today! I want to make him a big breakfast to kick off this fantastic day I had planned. First I'll give him one present of his choosing from the pile. Then we're going to go see a new movie I had pre purchased tickets for. After that I got us reservations at this steakhouse for lunch that's he's been dying to go to. Then if we finish lunch in a timely manner I'll take him to the mall and buy him those new shoes he's been wanting. And finally to end it all the Bakusquad is coming over with all of Eijirou's favorite dishes and im making him a homemade cake!
This day was going to knock his crocs off!
I was able to slickly slip out of his embrace to go make his favorite breakfast. Eggs, Bacon, and Toast!
As I grab the ingredients and dishes I'll need I look at the pile of 10 presents I saved for up to get him.
"Hm.. I hope he likes at least one of them" I mumble to myself as I move the eggs around with a spatula to make them scrambled.
I end of getting so lost in thought that the only thing that breaks me out of it is the smell of burnt food.
"Oh shit!Fuck!No!" I hiss as I flip the bacon and quickly push the button on the toaster to make the toast pop up
"Babe?Whats going on?" I hear a sleepy voice mumble from the doorway of the kitchen. "Oh!Uhm...nothing!" I lie while hiding the spatula behind my back. "Go back to sleep you're hallucinating!" I wave him off before turning around and trying to fix the food
"mmm~ you need help don't you boo?" Kirishima says as he leans down quite a bit to hug my waist from behind. "No I have everything under control... uhm go sit at the table!" I say "Ok you're the boss" he chuckles before going to sit at the table.
I set the plate in front of him, embarrassed that I burnt a meal that's so simple. "Sorry it's a little bit burnt..." I say looking away with flushed cheeks. "Nonsense!It looks delicious honey" he says taking my hand and purposefully fiddling with the charm bracelet on my wrist.
The charms consisted of his initials, a red ruby, and a shark. Just as a reminder that he will "always love me" as he quoted when he gave it to me.
"I'll prove to you that it's delicious" he said biting into a piece of bacon as I sit down in the chair next to him. It made an incredibly loud crunch as he bit it. "Eiji I'm so s-!" "Have I ever told you that crunchy bacon is the best bacon" he cuts me off before I can feel bad.
Truthfully he doesn't like crunchy bacon but I know the last thing he'd do is nag on me for trying my best
"And these eggs...they look incredible" he smiles at the slightly black eggs. I bit the inside of my cheek as he bites into it and makes a bit of a face. "Oh yes. Becca these are immaculate" he smiles
"You don't have to lie ya know" I smile. "But I'm not!These are incredible" he smiles
"Well do you wanna open a present birthday boy?" I grin. "Birthday man" he corrects.
"Oh hush" I smile as I hand him a present. "Wow babe...that's a lot of boxes.You didn't have to do this for me" he smiles gratefully.
"Yes Ei...it makes me happy when you open the presents" I smile at him and hold one of his hands for reassurance.
"You're the only present I need" he winks which has me blushing and fighting for my spot in heaven with the thoughts I had for a moment.
Just as he goes to tear the wrapping paper his phone starts to vibrate on the wooden table. "Probably Denki or Mina with their birthday phone calls" he laughs before looking at the contact.
The last people he wanted to hear from was his agency. "Sorry Becs" he sighs before answering the call
"Hello?"
"Red...we hate to do this but you're needed urgently"
"What's happening?"
"It's a mess with all the internships and the paperwork...unfortunately it needs to be done by today..."
"Can't we just have s-?"
"Nope...unfortunately not.See you in an hour?"
"Sure" he says with a sigh before hanging up the phone.
"Mina?Or was it Lou?Oh maybe Bakugo?" I grin. "The agency..." he sighs "Wishing you a happy birthday I assume" I question with a smile. "Calling me in" he says and immediately regrets it when my smile drops. "What?But why?" I question "Paperwork that urgently needs to be done" he sighs
"Oh uhm...I'll go get your costume from the dryer" he say before getting up and walking down the hallway to the laundry room
When I give it to him he smiles and apologizes before heading upstairs to go change and shower.
While he's up there I prepare a bento box with rice, orange slices, strawberries, Cucumbers and a chicken wrap. When it's neatly packed I make him a water bottle and write on a sticky note
Have an amazing birthday babes! I'll be waiting to cuddle when you get home!

I stick it on the inside lid of the bento box and shut it. When I hear footsteps coming down the stairs I blink my tears away and put on a fake smile. All those tears of Theater come in handy for that...
"You did your hair by yourself today?" I ask him. Usually I would braid it before he goes on patrol. Today however, he has it in a simple messy bun.
"Yeah I didn't wanna pester you. I hope that's ok..." he awkwardly rubs the back of his neck. "No it's ok honey.Here's your special birthday lunch" I smile while handing him the bento box.
"It smells delicious babe" he says before giving me a kiss on the forehead. "Don't have too much fun now" I say as he opens the door "Hm I don't know boo...filling out paperwork is a really hype job so no promises" he jokes
"Just hurry back...maybe?" I ask with those puppy dog eyes that I know he can't resist
"I'll do my best babes" he says before giving me one last kiss goodbye
When he left I did a forward roll over the arm rest and flopped onto the couch. Something Eiji would scold me about if he was here
"YoU cOuLd GeT hUrt LiKe tHat" he'd say. Does he not know that I'm practically a professional at doing couch flips??
I turn on the TV and the channel that was on previously showed up. The news...
"Well I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say happy birthday to the pro hero Red Riot!" The lady in the news studio smiles
"I assume his girlfriend Sponge will be spending the day with him. As well as others such as Dynamite,Aquafina and Chargebolt"
I sigh heavily and turn off the tv.
If only they knew how not perfect his birthday was shaping out to be
First I called the movie theatre
"Hey uhm I pre purchased some tickets for the new movie Jungle Cruise today?I was wondering if I could get a refund?I'm not able to make it"
"I'm sorry we don't do refunds though"
"It's ok I understand. Have a good day"

I sigh. "Well there's $45 down the drain..." I rub my temples. Next to call the steakhouse...
"Hi I was calling to cancel a reservation!" I try to sound not annoyed by my whole situation
"Canceling for today..?" The lady on the line questioned

"Yeahhh...so unfortunately we charge a $10 fee for canceled reservations on short notice"

"Hey guys...so I regret to tell you that we might have to move the birthday plans to tomorrow night" I say once again trying to not sound annoyed. "What happened?" Sero questions

"No way!We'll wait for him as long as it takes!" Mina interjected "Are you sure? I don't wanna-.." "Nope we're gonna celebrate for him"
Next call was Denki and Jirou
"So...I need your opinion. Would you two rather move Eiji's birthday dinner to tomorrow night?Cause he's not here"
"Where is he?" Jirou questions "Agency" I bite my tongue to keep the tears of frustration from spilling over
"We will wait all night to make his birthday the best with our food!" Denki says with enthusiasm "Any food that comes from you isn't gonna make anyone's birthday the best"

Lastly was Lou and Bakugo. I preferred to FaceTime them because that's my bestie and a regular phone call just won't do
"Hey boo boo!" Lou smiles "Hi Lou Lou.." I sigh "Whats wrong freckles?!You look like you're gonna bust out crying!" Bakugo interjects from behind Lou as he leans over the couch
"I'm not gonna cry Thotsuki" I say before biting the inside of my cheek to keep from crying. I'm not that type of person to cry in front of people
"Mhm sure..." Lou says "Anyways what's up?Where's the birthday boy?"
"The agency" I sigh. "Picking up birthday cards and presents no doubt" Lou smiles

"Picking up cards and presents right?" She frowns "I wish he was...but he has work that was calling to him last minute"
"What the hell?!On his birthday?!" Bakugo shouts from their kitchen "Believe me I know" I sigh for what seemed like the millionth time that morning
"Well is dinner still on for tonight?" Lou asks
"The rest of the squad wants to do it so I'm thinking yes" I say. "Ok just let me know if you need help with that homemade cake of yours and me and Katsuki will come help you" Lou smiles
"Like hell I will HeLp" he says, mocking the word 'help' "I wouldn't let her near the cake Louie! She'll ruin it!" "Do not be rude!" Lou shouts at Bakugo who looks unbothered by the shouting.
"So I guess dinner is still on for tonight...see you guys at 8" I smile "See ya then!Bye bye!" Lou waves "Byeeee!" I smile before hanging up the call.
When it ends my smile immediately drops.
"What will I do now?" I mumble to myself
I soon think to check that I have all of the cake ingredients before even attempting to make it. "Hmm...no more eggs..sugar..or flour?!" I frown "That's what I get for having so many failed cooking attempts" I sigh.
I quickly run upstairs to change into some black shorts and one of Kirishima's Crimson Riot hoodies. I breathe deeply and smile at the smell of his cologne still lingering on the hoodie. I then brush and straighten the frizzy ends of my hair before putting on some eyeliner and filling in my brows a bit
I put on my crocs and head out the door with my Little Mermaid backpack and my mask
While at the store I check the list once more in my phone. "Flour..eggs...sugar.." I mumbled to myself from under my mask.
As I'm reaching for the flour on the very top shelf of the isle I wish Eijirou and his 6'6 ass was here to grab it for me. When I finally just climb a shelf to get it I hear whispers from behind me
"Isn't that Red Riot's girlfriend?"
"Yeah...it's his birthday why isn't she with him"
"Hmph...some girlfriend she is. It's like I always say...me and him would be way cuter together honestly"
"Right...she's not even that pretty if you really look at her...plus Red Riot seems like the type to like skinny girls...which she's not really"
I audibly gasp at the last part. I've gotten used to getting hate as a hero. I've just accepted the fact that it's part of the job. But I couldn't even go to the grocery store without people throwing shade.
I quickly get out of that isle while quickly retrieving the other two items. I do self checkout to avoid any more human interaction and quickly walk down the street and to the subway
Once I'm on the train I get the anxious feeling am that everyone is starting at me. "No ones looking at you Becca" I mumble to myself for reassurance
"Mommy where's Red Riot?" You hear a little boy ask "I don't know baby...maybe he's out with Sponge today. It is his birthday after all!"
"Nooo she's right there" the little boy says pointing at you. Normally I think it's rude to point but this kid didn't look a day over 3 so I couldn't be too upset at his lack of manors.
I just pretend not to notice as the mom turns around slightly with a curious look on her face
"Hm..you think she'd be with her boyfriend on his birthday"
Seriously?!Another person blaming me?! I just deeply exhale and look at my feet to avoid eye contact with anyone.
Once I finally get off I make a beeline down the sidewalk to the house.
When I finally shut the door I just sigh it myself before taking my shoes off and going it the kitchen to bake the cake.
It takes about 3 hours with how slow I was moving but it turned out ok I guess..? It was just a little slanted to one side... ok maybe a lot slanted to one side but I made it work
I frosted it with white buttercream frosting and wrote in red icing

"Perfect" I smile to myself.
I set the cake in the fridge to cool down when the doorbell rings. I walk out of the kitchen being careful not to slip on the wood floor with my socks on. Not that it's happened before but it wouldn't be the first time...
I open the door and find the whole Bakusquad there with dishes of food for dinner. "Hey guys come on in!" I smile "You can put the dishes on the counter" I say leading them to the kitchen as if they haven't been here a thousand times before.
"So when do you think he's gonna be home?" Denki asks as we all sit on the couch and play candy land on the coffee table..minus Bakugo who apparently thinks that game is dumb. Instead Bakugo massages Lou's shoulders while she sits on the floor in front of him.
"Hm... I'll text him but he might be busy" I say pulling my phone out from my pocket.

After about 3 hours of playing every board game I have it was getting late. 10:37pm to be exact. "Guys I think we should just call it a night" I say with disappointment laced in my voice. "But what about his birthday?" Mina asks "uhm...we can go to breakfast in the morning instead of everyone wants?And come over to have his birthday dinner tomorrow?"
"Well I guess that sounds like a plan" Sero says. "Yeah...you two need alone time of course right now." Jirou understands the situation we're in from today "Thanks for understanding guys...I really appreciate your company" I smile as yet all put on their shoes and jackets
As everyone leaves Bakugo and Lou are the last ones out. "Have fun" Lou smiles before intertwining hands with Bakugo "Not too much fun" Bakugo gruffly says as they walk towards the door "Leave them be Bakugo...they've had a rough day"
"My day was fine for the situation" I smile through the emotions. "Hah then don't go on Twitter" Bakugo jokes "Katsuki!" Lou says through gritted teeth "Whats he talking about?" I question "I wouldn't worry about it...have a good night and tell Eijirou we said happy birthday" they say before leaving
As I sit at the dining table I immediately open Twitter. "What the heck?" I say to myself as I see my hero name trending
