We are now gathered on the forest Mikasa arrived with the others along with Reiner and Annie. Hange is making stew for dinner
The tension is thick you could even cut a knife with it
"Uhm instead of staring at each other someone at least help me cook" Hange said
"I can't believe this all of us would share a meal for all the times we tried killing each other" General Magath stated
"How Ironic, isn't it?" I rolled my eyes
"Apparently it was your fault. If you haven't helped them none of us supposed to be here in the first place. What changed your minds" General Magath hissed
"As I said we don't want Genocide. We wouldn't be here hiding in the forest" Hange stated
"So your saying you finally whose side has justice on?" he asked
"Justice?! Your talking about justice? So we're the bad guys. We just fight the titans you guys keep sending us!! We don't want to be eaten alive by the titans and your saying only devils do that?" Jean yelled
"You look like filthy devils to me" General Magath replied
"If his mom weren't eaten alive when the walls were turned down we weren't be here in the first place" Jean said
"So were talking about history now? Eldian made marley suffer first!!" he retorted
"Rei can you help me out here?" Hange pleaded
"Well...... Jean is kinda right though" I confessed
"Rei!! That's not helpful!!" Hange yelled
"I also suffered in the attack back then. I know I'm a monster. My mother killed people for a living. My father made my brother into cruel commander. I even decided to follow his footsteps but that doesn't mean the others are monsters. There are more people kinder than me. Who deserves to live longer"
"So then why are you helping us?" General Magath asked
"Well because this isn't something I want!! I have been devoting myself for this battle!! I sacrifice my happiness and Joy!! I have sacrifice my comrades so be it! I would sacrifice my own life for it but this is not what I want! This is not the result of how I have wasted my blood sweat and tears for" I stated and I saluted at him
"I'm a soldier! I offered my heart to humanity so please let us not fight at least let's fight together" I said
"Can we kill him?" Annie suddenly asked
"Huh?"
"Can you kill Eren?" Annie asked
"That is not the only option" Mikasa reasoned out
"Yeah I thought you would say that. What are you gonna do convince him to not do genocide? What if he doesn't agree? All of us will end up fighting while you guys are protecting him. Mikasa you only see Eren as your number one priority" Annie said
"Are you saying I should die?" she asked
"I know how you feel! I also have someone important for me. He is the most important person to me. I will also risk my life for my father" Annie confessed
Every one has calmed down
"We will board using a flying ship from the Azumabitos but we need to locate Eren because we might lose gas" I informed
"So the Hizuru's has been helping you behind the scenes" Captain Magath click his tongue in annoyance
"Apparently that is why we captured her" he continued and shifted his gaze to Yelena
She refused on telling about Eren's location. They have confirmed that Yelena is also a marleyan. She only pretended to be one of the people who lived in a conquered nations of marley
"I still remember how many lives were eaten by pure titans when someone breech the walls and there you snuck inside and shared good memories with so called comrades. You betrayed them, killed them and your going to be comrades once more? Paradis was quite brave when they attacked marley. I never Armin thought someone who acts sensible would smash his way to the naval port" Yelena stated
"All of us has our fair share of trauma in the attack on Liberio. Don't forget our beautiful commander who ordered her soldiers to kill every single being in order to win. She didn't even bat an eye to her fallen comrades. The result of her soldier betraying her. How many corpse are you exactly standing on?" she continued
"Countless of them I guess not like your different with me" I replied she simply chuckled at my response
Apparently Yelena really started rubbing salt in our wounds. With that Reiner confessed about him killing Marco along with Annie
Resulting to utter chaos. With Jean punching Reiner in the face. He accidentally kicked Gabi because she protected Reiner. Jean left the scene when Gabi apologized to him
"Well things could have gone much worse" Hange said I simply rolled my eyes at her
"Hey Rei can you change his bandages" she pointed at Levi who is resting on the corner away from everyone
"Your planning on this? Aren't you?" I asked I simply got a cheeky smile from her
I took a bowl of stew
"Wake up, you need to eat" I said gently shaking him
His eyes widen seeing me
"If you want to kill Zeke at least eat something" I said he simply nodded in response
Levi felt a surge of happiness when he saw her. What makes him more happy is that she's also feeding him
I gently took of his bandage. My eyes widen seeing a huge scar on his face. I placed my hand on his face. Levi was shock seeing her in that heartbroken expression
He never thought she would bat an eye on him in this state. But her reaction is full of guilt and remorse while staring at him
"I'm fine" he stated he saw her biting her lips. Oh so he wanted to kiss those pinkish lips of hers but he needed to restrain his self from doing so
"You may be strong but your not immortal" I said I started to bandage his face with clean ones
"Same with you. Your also strong but your not immortal. Your the strongest person I have met" Levi replied and held my cheek his eyes were full adoration and affection
I stared at his eyes my heart started to beat faster than normal. A small drum beating in my chest
I swiftly got up. I held my chest to calm down my beating heart
"I'm finished with wrapping you with clean bandage" I said while avoiding his gaze
I left the scene and sat on the ground and lean my back on the tree trunk
"Tough life huh?"
I shifted my gaze at the owner of the voice
"I think so Annie" I replied she sat beside me
"Condolences for your child" she said
"You were listening the whole time?" I asked she simply nodded
"I'm glad you did that made me feel much better so thanks, Annie" I said
"Why did you rather blabber your deepest secrets to someone who killed your friends" she asked
"I used to hate you but when the years go by I somehow understand how you felt. When they force you to kill someone for the sake of something so I stopped hating you. More like I forgive you Annie" I said
"I think I don't deserve your forgiveness" she said
"You deserve it. All of us are monsters in someone's point of view but that doesn't mean we kept on hating each other right? I at least don't want to hate anyone. I don't really care anymore" I smiled at her
She simply smiled back in reply
Little did they know an old marleyan man was listening to their conversation
Forgiveness huh??
