Third person's POV
Luckily, Somi had to stop at a red light, so Chaeyoung was able to catch up with her. She carefully asks the taxi driver to keep a safe distance, so that Somi won't notice them following behind.
Almost an hour drive, they are now in a remote location, just grass and trees are on both sides of the road, occasionally they are passing by some old barns and abandoned farm houses. Somi stops at an old farm house, she gets out of the car and walks straight into the house. Chaeyoung asks the driver to stop a little bit far from the place, so Somi wouldn't see her. She then slowly approaches it, there are no fences around the house, so she can just easily sees everything from outside.
Suddenly the back door swings open, Chaeyoung quickly hides herself behind a big tree nearby. She carefully peeks at it to see Somi walks out, heading to the old barn which is about a few hundreds metres behind the house. Chaeyoung waits until Somi gets inside the barn, then she slowly moves closer and closer, very carefully not to make a sound,
Somi walks in, grabs the whip and stands right infront of Mina, 'There is a change of plan, I might have to kill you sooner than I wanted.'
Fear is visible on Mina's face, she turns completely pale,
Somi looks at Mina with emotionless eyes, 'Everyone is looking for you, the police are also involved. And Chaeyoung, oh my poor Chaeyoung is totally devastated. But don't worry, I will be next to her, I will heal her. She will be mine when you are gone.'
'No, Chaeyoung will never be yours. She would never love a psycho like you. Chaeyoung is mine, always mine.' Mina weakly argues,
Somi glares at her, 'Well then let this psycho teaches you a lesson, Chaeyoung's Princess. Do not provoke a psycho's anger when she is holding a whip and a knife.' Somi coldly says to Mina while holding the whip and the knife up, showing them to her,
'Somi, you won't get out of this. The police will catch you, my parents will kill you, and Chaeyoung, Chaeyoung will never forgive you for hurting me like this.' Mina is trying to scare Somi off, to stall time as much as possible,
Somi laughs psychotically, 'I know all that. I told you I have risked everything to do this. Mina, I have nothing to lose, my heart and soul had crushed right at the moment Chaeyoung introduced you as her girlfriend. I don't care about anything anymore, if I can't have Chaeyoung, neither can you.'
Chaeyoung is now on the side of the barn, she leans closer to the wooden panels on the outside, peeks in through a small gap. Her eyes widen when she caught a glimpse of Mina, her heart is beating loudly, almost jumps out of her chest, and then she sees Somi holding a whip and a knife infront of Mina. Chaeyoung is in disbelief, the Somi she knows would never do something like this.
Meanwhile, inside the barn, Somi is enjoying seeing Mina's all shaken up hearing the psychotic plan, 'So Mina, this is the plan for today. First, I will whip you a bit more, then I will destroy your pretty face with this knife, then I will break your legs, and lastly I will kill you. Does that sound like a good plan?'
Somi smirks seeing the fear in Mina's eyes, she walks behind Mina, and proceeds to strike the whip as hard as she can onto Mina's back,
Mina screams in pain, tears are falling nonstop,
Chaeyoung immediately jumps onto her feet hearing Mina's screams. Everything happened too fast that she had no time to process what was going on. She quickly runs to the door, kicks it open, 'Somi, stop whatever you are doing right now!' She yells,
Chaeyoung diverts her eyes to Mina, and her heart is instantly broken into million pieces now that she has a clear sight of her Baby. Mina's feet and legs have turned to a shade of purple because of exposing to the cold and because she couldn't move at all for so long, some dry bloods from Mina's wrists down to her elbows because of the rope burns from Mina's struggling hard to free herself. Mina's body is shaking because of the cold and the pain, with barely any coverings, the shirt that she has on is now all ripped and teared, stained with blood. Her face is pale, covered in tears. Chaeyoung's tears are falling uncontrollably seeing Mina in that state, 'Mina, Baby...Oh God...my Baby...'
Seeing Chaeyoung, Mina is now crying out loud, she knows it's ok to cry all out now, no more holding back, 'Chaeyoungie...you're here. Help me... Chaeyoungie, it hurts so much...' Mina says between her sobs,
'I'm coming, Baby. It's ok now, I'm right here.' Chaeyoung says and about to walk to Mina,
But Somi places the knife on Mina's neck, 'Chaeyoung, stop right there or else I will cut her neck.' She warns,
Chaeyoung immediately halts her step, 'Somi, stop it! That's enough, let Mina go now.' She yells,
'Chaeyoung, my plan is to kill Mina even if I get caught or not. It's the only way to ease the pain in my heart.' Somi has totally lost her sanity now,
'Somi, calm down. Don't do this! We can talk it out.' Chaeyoung is trying to calm Somi down while slowly moving closer to Mina. Her eyes fixed on the knife that is on Mina's neck,
'Talk about what, Chaeyoung? Unless, you promise to only love me from now on, and help me to get out of this trouble.' Somi requests,
'No, Chaeyoungie, don't promise her.' Mina says, totally against the idea,
'Shut up, Mina. Do you want to die right now?' Somi presses the knife onto Mina's neck, making a small cut,
'No no no, Somi, don't do it. Please don't hurt her!' Chaeyoung gets panic seeing a bit of blood runs down from the cut.
'Somi, why don't you put the knife down and we can talk? Just you and me, we will talk everything out.' Chaeyoung tells Somi, she is now very close to the both of them,
Somi smiles sadly, 'Even you are trying to fool me, Chaeyoung. How about I kill her first, then we can talk?' Somi turns crazy, her eyes look dark and dangerous. She holds the knife up and strongly swings it down, aiming at Mina's neck.
Chaeyoung immediately jumps infront of Mina, shielding Mina with her whole body, taking the knife for Mina,
Chaeyoung falls onto the ground, blood gushing out of her body. Mina could feel her world just collapsed right there in front of her, seeing Chaeyoung on the ground with blood everywhere. She screams Chaeyoung's name, struggling hard to get to her but she just can't break free from these ropes, 'Chaeyoungie...Babe...no no you can't leave me... no... please answer me! Chaeyoungie...'
Somi is in shock seeing that it's Chaeyoung who she just sliced the knife through. She takes a few steps back while shaking her head repeatedly,
It took Chaeyoung a few moments to recollect herself from the pain, the cut is big and deep on her right upper arm, luckily she is not seriously hurt anywhere else. She quickly looks at Mina to check if her Baby is hurting anywhere, then she looks at Somi, ignoring the pain on her arm, she lifts herself up and swiftly kicks the knife away from Somi's hand, then skillfully does a spinning kick to the side of Somi's head, strong enough to knock her out. Somi falls hard onto the ground, unconscious.
Chaeyoung immediately runs to Mina, trying to untie Mina from the ropes, but they are just too tight. She then picks the knife up from the ground and cuts those ropes with it, free Mina at last.
As soon as her arms and legs are free from the ropes, Mina falls straight into Chaeyoung's arms, she couldn't hold herself up anymore, her body is so weak right now,
Chaeyoung puts her jacket onto Mina, covering Mina's body from the cold, 'Mina, Baby, it's ok now, you are safe with me. It's over now.' Chaeyoung says through her tears, glad that Mina is safe, but her heart aches seeing the pain that Mina had to go through. She supports the back of Mina's neck with her left arm, places Mina's head into the crook of her neck, hugging Mina tightly, her right hand caresses Mina's cheek to soothe her,
'Chaeyoungie, did you get hurt?' Mina weakly asks,
'I just got a cut on my upper arm here, but it's ok. Don't worry, humh.' Chaeyoung answers,
Mina feels relieved knowing that Chaeyoung is not badly injured, but soon passes out because of hunger, pain and exhaustion,
'Mina, are you alright? Baby...Baby...' Chaeyoung is panicking. She quickly gets the phone out of her pocket and calls an ambulance, then she calls the police. She also didn't forget to call Mina's parents.
Mr and Mrs Myoui get to the hospital where Chaeyoung mentioned on the phone, they hurrily run inside to see Chaeyoung is pacing back and forth infront of the emergency room. Mrs Myoui runs over and hugs her, 'Thank you, Chaeyoung. You've found Mina again. But where is she? Is my Mina ok, Chaeyoung?'
'They just pushed her into the emergency room not long ago, Mom. They wouldn't let me in.' Chaeyoung answers, worry is visible on her face,
Mrs Myoui then notices droplets of blood on the floor, her eyes follow where the bloods came from to see the big, deep cut on Chaeyoung's right upper arm, 'My God, Chaeyoung, you got hurt badly. Why haven't you gotten this checked?'
Mr Myoui also saw it, he quickly gets a nurse nearby, 'Can you please help my daughter with her wound?' He tells her,
'Miss, please follow me.' The nurse says to Chaeyoung and helps her to go see a doctor. Chaeyoung follows her but she keeps glancing back at the emergency room, wanting to be close to Mina at all times.
About twenty minutes later, nurses push Mina out of the emergency while Mina is still unconscious, and move her into a private hospital room as Mr Myoui had requested. The doctor told Mr and Mrs Myoui that there is nothing to worry about, Mina just needs to rest well, and also needs sometimes for those wounds on her back to heal.
Mr and Mrs Myoui are now sitting right next to Mina's hospital bed. Mrs Myoui is still crying, Mr Myoui also couldn't hold in his tears seeing all the wounds and those deep red marks on his daughter's back, as well as those painful rope burns on her wrists and around her ankles.
Awhile later, Mina stirs awake. Mrs Myoui quickly holds her hand, 'Mina, Darling, are you feeling ok?'
'Mommy, Daddy, I'm ok.' Mina answers, she is still quite weak.
'Here, the doctor said you should drink lots of water when you wake up.' Mrs Myoui gives Mina a glass of water. Mina drank all of it, being so thirsty. She then looks around, 'Where's Chaeyoung?'
Mr Myoui gently pats her head, 'Look at you, of course the first thing you ask is about Chaeyoung. A doctor is checking her wound, she will come here soon.'
And right at that moment, the door swung open, Chaeyoung who is also in her hospital gown just like Mina's, runs straight to her Baby, sits down right next to Mina on the bed on the opposite side to Mr and Mrs Myoui. She immediately holds Mina's hand, squeezes it a few times to confirm with herself that it's real, that Mina is actually safe and is right next to her,
'Chaeyoungie!' Mina smiles brightly seeing Chaeyoung,
'Mina, my Baby, thanks God you are safe.' Chaeyoung says while lovingly caresses Mina's cheek with her thumb repeatedly, 'Baby, are you feeling ok? Do you need anything?' She softly asks,
'Chaeyoungie, I'm hungry.' Mina tells Chaeyoung, just like a kid asking for food. She could have told her parents about it, but she waited, so she can tell Chaeyoung, she just wants to be a baby to Chaeyoung only.
'Of course my Baby must be hungry. I will go and get the nurse to bring you some food, humh.' Chaeyoung says to Mina, her voice is so soft as if she is talking to a baby,
Mr Myoui notices that Mina just keeps holding onto Chaeyoung's hand, not letting go. He smiles and offers to go instead, 'Chaeyoung, you stay here with Mina. Dad will go and get the nurse to bring some food. I will also arrange for you to move into this room during your stay for the recovery of your arm.'
'Thanks Dad!' Chaeyoung smiles, very happy with the idea.
Mina is now sitting up on the bed, eating her food, being fed by her Mom. She can eat by herself, but her Mom insists to feed her, Mrs Myoui is just so worried that Mina's arms are still in pain.
Mr Myoui and Chaeyoung are watching the scene with eyes full of love. They feel so relieved that Mina is safe and eating well right infront of them, no serious injury and very well back to her bubbly and adorable self.
'Chaeyoung, come outside with Dad for a bit. I need to talk to you.' Mr Myoui says to Chaeyoung,
Mina stops eating, thinking that her Dad will blame Chaeyoung because of Somi, because Chaeyoung has a closest connection with Somi. Mina instantly looks at her Dad with worried eyes, 'Daddy, please don't be angry at Chaeyoung. It wasn't Chaeyoung's fault that I was taken. It was my fault because I didn't listen to Chaeyoung, to wait for her right there where she told me to.'
Mr Myoui walks closer to his daughter, 'Who says that I'm angry at Chaeyoung? My daughter, don't worry, I'm not going to yell at Chaeyoung or anything. But about the fact that you never listen to what Chaeyoung tells you, and always end up in danger because of it, Dad is going to have a serious talk with you about it later.' Mr Myoui tells Mina, and taps her head in a scolding manner,
Mina looks down, sadly pouts her lips, knowing that sooner or later, she will get a scolding from her Dad.
'Chaeyoung, follow Dad.' Mr Myoui tells Chaeyoung, and proceeds to walk out of the room,
Chaeyoung walks over to Mina who is still pouting her lips. She wants to soothe her Baby by pecking the lips, but Mrs Myoui is right there, so she settled with a loving pinch on Mina's cheeks, 'Baby, I will be right back. You be a good girl and eat all of your food for me, humh.'
Mina raises her head to look at Chaeyoung, she slowly nods. Chaeyoung smiles warmly at Mina, she then quickly follows Mr Myoui. Chaeyoung looks fine on the outside, but on the inside, her heart is thumping loudly out of nervousness, she is quite worried about the reason why Mr Myoui wants to talk to her in private like this.
