                                                                    Chapter Eleven

 Sky's POV:

Wesley was waiting for me when my grueling hour of science was over. I thought it would be awkward between the two of us after his little confession, but to my surprise and relief, nothing had changed. He visited me in the hospital the next day, and we just chilled as friends. There were no awkward silences whatsoever, so an involuntary smile could not help itself from spreading across my face as I walked up to him, making sure not to even glance in Klaus' direction.

"Hey, Blue" he smiled, using his new nickname for me. Apparently, he wanted a change, but I really think it was just so he could annoy me some more.

"Why do you call me that?" I frowned, as we shuffled along to the cafeteria.

"Because the sky is blue and your EYES are blue!" he said in an obvious manner.

"Very imaginative..." I laughed, rolling my eyes.

"Don't roll your eyes to the sky at me, young lady!" He lectured.

Great, another sky joke, wonderful. I rolled my eyes again and pulled him into the queue.

It was pizza day! I LOVE pizza, and standing in the queue I realized there was only one slice left... MINE! I growled. Wesley and I went to grab it at the same time, but of course, we all know who got to it first.

"Zonk!" Wesley grinned, while I snarled at him.

"Mine!" I glared and went to take it from him. He was too fast for me and had it above his head in an instant. I was so intent on getting what was rightfully mine that I didn't realize I had stepped closer to him than I first expected and now was practically chest to chest with him. Er...

"Get a move on, idiot. Some of us actually want to get our food before the end of lunch..." A familiar voice sounded behind us. When did Klaus get there? And did I just imagine the growl, which erupted from his chest?

"Whoa, take it easy big boy," Wesley replied with heavy sarcasm. I would have laughed if right now I weren't staring into Klaus' amazingly intense grey eyes. He didn't even seem to hear Wesley's reply, as he stood in the same position, staring me down. There was no way I was going to look away first. The first thing I learned when I took my puppy to obedience class was to never drop eye contact, it shows you're in charge, and not your dog. Well, Klaus might not be a dog, but wolves are close, right?

"You can't stare down an alpha" he spoke without dropping his gaze or even blinking. Aww sh*t, he's soo going to win...

"I sure as hell can try," I growled, determined, not blinking or dropping my gaze.

"Um, Sky? As much as I would love it to be true, looks can't kill." Wesley said, trying to interrupt us. From the corner of my eye, I could see him shuffling slightly on his feet.

"Yeah, I know that dip sh*t!" I snapped, glaring at him. Aw crap! I sighed to myself as I heard Klaus' husky laugh echo around what I now realized was a deadly silent cafeteria.

"See?! You made me lose!" I moaned.

"Oh... That was a game?" Wesley asked, amused, but there was a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"Everything's a game," I smirked. "This, for instance, is a game!" I laughed as I quickly whipped the pizza slice from his plate.

"Hey! No fair!" he complained, as I took a bite of it, claiming it before he could take it back.

"All is fair in love and war." I winked.

"Yeah yeah," he muttered.

-Klaus's POV-

I couldn't concentrate on anything! I know that wasn't particularly surprising, seeing as I never really tend to listen to anything, anyway. Still, my mind was usually full of girls and more girls, but since last Friday, there was only one girl on my mind, and I hated it! It was like her bewildering ocean blue eyes came to interrupt my thoughts every time I closed my eyes. They burned back at me, with this look of admiration and wonder - the look she gave me the first time we met. It was like my conscience was tormenting me, sending me all these thoughts of her, to the point I was drowning in her... Her eyes, her lips, her hair, her smile, her... body. I wanted her so friggin' bad! My want for her was growing fiercer by the day. I would have hated her for it if it weren't for the fact that I loved her. I didn't want to feel that way for her. She was a nuisance, a hassle for me. I thought once I'd found her that everything would be perfect, but it wasn't. Finding her only f***ed everything up. I thought it would be easy. In my mind I imagined laying eyes on her, we would 'fall utterly in love' and then it would be one of those cliche love stories, where she'll marry me, have my children, and then we'll live happily ever after. But that did not happen. She didn't fall in love with me at first sight. And though I hate to admit it even to myself, I kinda did... and I haven't heard yet of a happily ever after, where the love of your life has feelings for your twin brother!

F***ing Wesley! I hated him for taking her away from me, and I can't stand her for liking him over me. I mean what does he have that I don't?!

URG! She's messed me right up, f****d with my brain to the point that I think I should get checked out by a doctor or something. I mean I couldn't even get it up Saturday with Vicky. I mean what kind of Alpha can't get it up for f***ks sakes? Of course, I blamed it on some new tablets I was trying out, which was a total lie, but it was better to say I was taking something. Rather than she finds out that indeed there was no reason, just the fact I happened to find my mate and couldn't get turned on by anyone but her. She just happens to be f***ing around with my brother and hates me - no I couldn't tell her that because no one was to say 'no' to alpha, but even my image would take a knock to the fact that my own mate was haywire. If anyone found out about this, I would have no choice but to take her by force - an alpha of a pack has ultimate authority and must display his authority whenever needed. Not doing so would not only be highly frowned upon by the pack, but it would also open up competitors, other wolves would fight me and try to win over the status of alpha, and as much as I loved her I would not give up position of alpha for her.... well not yet anyway.... aw crap! Klaus, you're so entirely whipped already!

Klauseeyy babe!!! Vicky's thoughts hit me hard as she kind off skipped into the science room I was now sitting in. I couldn't even bring myself to even acknowledge her because my whole being was centered on the girl who was walking towards me. My mate. Whoa! She was even more stunning than I had remembered. She was taking my breath away, even with that glare on her cute little face. Aw, she was too sweet! Geez, I just wanted to get up and hold her in my arms for the rest of my life. I never thought I would want something as much as I wanted her right now. I had to remember that her scowl wasn't intended to be cute and her blazing eyes weren't meant to turn me on. She looked pissed.

"You're in my seat," she stated. Oh.

"What?" I asked amused after everything. She wanted to tell me I was in her seat? Not even an English 'hey mate' - a sentence I vowed to myself to say to her, once she had finally accepted me as hers.

"Nothing is stopping you from sitting down," I smirked; opening my arms to her, though I could tell there was no way in hell this stubborn beauty would ever sit on my lap. Well, not right now anyway...

"Well, apart from a huge annoying jerk, who doesn't care about anything except making his dick happy!" Wait, what?! I stared at her murderous glare in shock. What? Why? I mean did I... what? I hadn't a clue what on earth she was talking about, and why was she talking about my dick? And I DO care about someone a hell of a lot more than my dick, and she's standing right in front of me... what did I do to her to make her hate me so much?

"What? do you two know each other?" Vicky came up to me, not taking another thought as she planted her ass on my lap, my first instinct was to shove her off and tell her to get lost, but then I saw a flicker of an emotion flash across my mate's beautiful eyes, stopping me from doing anything. She looked as if she was... no, she's probably still mad at me, not Vicky. I mean, that wasn't jealousy... was it?

"No, not at all." she glowered at me, before turning around and begrudgingly found another seat as far away from me as possible. It happened to be a seat right next to Eli Stander, one of my pack members, so I knew what would be running through his mind as he looked at my mate before he even realized her presence. He didn't disappoint.

***Whoa hot, I would definitely do...***

***ELI ENOUGH!*** I couldn't stop myself from using all my Alpha authority in my voice. Meaning Eli had no choice but to do as I said. Thinking about it, maybe I shouldn't because it set a stream of confused questions run through his brain, mainly why? And I couldn't answer that, but I did NOT want to hear what he wanted to 'do' with my mate. Really, he should be thanking me. If I hadn't demanded him to stop, I don't think I would have been able to prevent myself from getting up in front of all these humans and ripping off his head, for even having indecent thoughts about her.

I couldn't stop staring at her the whole of the lesson, but I hadn't seen her in what seemed like ages so just seeing her from a distance made me happy.

***You do know her don't you?*** Vicky thought halfway through the lesson.

***I know of her, yes.*** I told her the truth; I did 'know' her.

***How?*** She asked,

***She's the new she-wolf I had to deal with Friday remember?*** I reminded her.

***Oh but...*** She paused as images of earlier flashed before her mind: When Sky and I had that tiny argument in front of her. Pictures of what I realized was her previous lesson, which she also had with Sky, and images of my mate growling under her breath when Vicky mentioned me. That alone was enough to cause a massive grin to spread across my face. It all made sense now. She was angry because she thought I was dating... well, f***ing Vicky. The little 'jerk' comment about me 'caring about nothing more than making my dick happy' now made complete sense. So... she WAS jealous!

***Why do you keep staring at her then?*** Vicky carried on, unaware of my realization. Being an alpha meant that keeping my guard up was something I didn't have to even think about doing. That's how I had been able to keep the fact that Sky was my mate from the entire pack, including my parents.

***Because she's f***ing hot.*** I replied. That was a response I would have had before right? I mean, my old ways and thoughts were slowly beginning to disappear. I'm sure the pack would see the difference sooner or later.

She huffed at my response. She wasn't able to put her guard up before I could hear the hurt it caused her, to think that I thought someone was prettier than her. What was most shocking, and sweet at the same time was that she had no mean thoughts centered towards Sky. That was one of the main reasons I liked Vick. Not only was she a good fuck, she was actually a decent girl. Maybe a bit slutty at times, but her thoughts and her behavior (out of the bedroom) actually showed her to be a sweet girl.

The lesson seemed to go by quicker than usual, and I knew that was due to the fact she was here. So, when I saw my wonderful brother standing in the doorway, I had to use all the power in me: not to growl at him- pick him up, and throw him right into the state of Montana. Instead, I ground my teeth and focused really hard to bare it as Sky got up, smiling widely as she walked towards him.

"Hey, Blue." he smiled at her. Nickname? Ok, he's really pushing his luck now. The scowl on her face when he said that, made me automatically tense. If Wesley did ANYTHING to make her upset, I swear to God I'll kill him. I don't care if he's blood-related.

"Why do you call me that?" My baby frowned, but she continued to walk out of the classroom with him, so, she couldn't be too upset about it. So feeling a bit more relaxed, I followed behind them keeping a safe distance away. Something told me she wouldn't be ultra pleased with me following her.

"Because the sky is blue, and your EYES are blue!" He said as if talking to a child. She's not f***ing dumb bro! She knows the sky is blue and her eyes... well, her eyes, alone, were enough to realize the meaning of his nickname. Her eyes were the most beautiful blue I'd ever seen, and most likely he's ever seen, as well.

"Very imaginative..." she laughed, rolling her eyes. That's my girl. He needs a bit of a hit to his ego.

"Don't roll your eyes to the sky at me, young lady!" I couldn't help but growl slightly. Urg! Was he really going to flirt with her in school?! Of course, he was going to. My conscience reminded me, they like each other remember? I growled at myself then. I needed her away from him. I needed her here with me. I wanted to be the one flirting with her, walking with her in between classes...

We, being Vicky and me, were a few people behind them in the queue. I could clearly see both of them flirting with each other from here. Over a slice of pizza? Come on!

"Zonk!" Of course, Wesley would get it first.

"Mine!" she glared and went to take it from him, only he held it above his head. As she looked up at it to take it, Wesley slyly stepped forward so that sky was now pressed against him. With that, I couldn't stop myself from jumping the queue, ready to break them up. Seeing them like this was making my wolf extremely angry! My human emotions weren't too far off.

"Get a move on, idiot. Some of us actually want to get our food before the end of lunch..." I growled at Wesley, causing him to automatically step away from her.

"Whoa, take it easy big boy," Wesley replied with heavy sarcasm. I couldn't even take any notice of him because right now all my attention was focused on the pair of blue eyes, which were now locked with mine. Staring at me. Was my baby really going to try and stare me down? Haha! Did she forget she was mates with an alpha male, that will never submit to anyone? Not even her?

"You can't stare down an alpha," I spoke earnestly, though inside I could feel a smirk ready to overcome my features. We could stand here all day, angel, but you're not going to win.

"I sure, as hell, can try," she growled, determined. Note to self: - make her angry once she's mine; because it is sure is one major turn on.

"Um, Sky, as much as I would love it to be true, looks can't kill." Wesley tried to interrupt us. I could almost see the jealousy rolling in waves off him.

"Yeah I know that dip s**t!" she snapped, cutting off eye contact with me to glare at him. I couldn't help but laugh slightly. I had to hold in the 'I told you so,' which was threatening to escape my smirking lips.

"See?! You made me lose!" she moaned to Wesley. Aw, she was even cuter when she was annoyed...

"Oh... That was a game?" He asked trying to sound casual, but I knew there was a deeper meaning behind his question: the whole situation of Sky coming in between us, to protect me. It was apparently still a sore spot for him. I'm surprised he hadn't worked it out for himself that I'm her mate.

"Everything is a game," she smirked. I watched as she eyed the pizza sitting on his plate. "This, for instance, is a game!" she laughed as she took the pizza. I couldn't find it amusing because she was talking and flirting with my brother when it should be with ME!

"Hey! No fair!" he complained, and I watched Sky bite the pizza so that Wesley wouldn't want it back.

Urg! I can't watch this anymore! I'm depressed enough as it is, I don't need her to rub it in. With that, I pulled Vick towards our table and made sure, for the rest of lunch, not to look or listen in on Sky's conversation... because, right now, I didn't want to know.
