(Amity's pov)
Weeks pass and I'm here walking around the schools wide campus on a Wednesday. Luz jogs up to me having seen her disappear an hour ago, her Jersey slung messily over her shoulder probably to be used to wipe away sweat or water from her face.
"Hey luz have fun running the entire school??"
She nods gently catching her breath as she slows to a walk
"Keeps my ass fit and it does this really easy"
She flexes her bicep at me earning a soft blush, pulling on her Jersey she pokes at her stomach
"I don't even know how it happens- I get like... really chubby but then jogging a few miles takes it all away- I remember all the popular girls asking me for techniques and exercises, but I never could answer because- even I didn't know how I lost it that fast."
Chuckling gently I take her extended hand, looking down at her wrist I raise an eyebrow
"Is that a Fitbit??"
She nods slightly angry with the electronic device on her wrist
"My doctor told me to wear it and all that stupid junk to see how far I go and what pace I do it at- he's gonna flip when he sees I ran... hm.. how far a radius is this school's campus- screw it nevermind whatever comes up, comes up- I don't really mind- all I know is that my lungs are getting better by the day."
I laugh at her happy demeanor and side hug her, she smiles brightly at me her eyes shimmering in the sunset. Looking out at the moon I sit down on a bench
"Beautiful night tonight.."
Luz nods slowly slinging her arm over my shoulder, leaning against her I glance my eyes at the stars finding every constellation I know. She rests her head on my shoulder to look up at the darkening sky, I can see every star and galaxy reflect in her eyes every pulsar.. every blue.. every giant- each and every star imaginable.
"Y'know luz?... I look up at the sky at night but my eyes only stare at pulsars- you can see them flicker two HUNDRED times a second and their beauty responds with the crack of a supernova.. but they never blow up- they just stay there rotating an endless cycle- and I do that because I get reminded of you.. you hit every day off with a bang- you just keep on going. You never forget to keep on walking the world one step at a time."
She smiles gently at me her eyes glowing as the moon steals the night to it's beautiful darkness. Hugging her closely I kiss her softly and continue staring at the night sky, standing up luz holds out her hand to me
"Let's head inside it's getting chilly am"
Raising an eyebrow I roll up my sleeve to see how my skin reacts to the air
"But luz- it's still very warm... are you okay?"
She presses her hand to her forehead and nods yes her expression confused as all hell, sitting back down I put my arms around her causing her to snuggle into my body for warmth I can only assume. Rubbing her arm slowly I look up at the stars again taking in it's beauty, luz looks up at me then to the sky being trapped by it once again. Luz adjusts herself uncomfortably to lean down and look at the grass, looking over at her I see her gripping her chest alot tighter than the usual. She looks at me and stands up breathing in deeply
"Can we go in am? I'm starting to get tired"
Nodding I stand up and join her, taking her free hand I begin the long walk to her dorm greeting the teachers passing along the way. Stepping into the courtyard Luz stops me to catch her breath- I start worrying more at this point. Beginning again at a slow pace I see luz Inhale slowly her face beginning to drain of most of it's color, taking her face in my hands I study her expression now drained of some energy. Looking deeply into my eyes luz starts gripping me like a lifeline, pressing my fingers to the artery in her neck I look at her scared as her heart slows down more and more, clinging to me she suddenly realizes what is going on to her, she panics and starts stuttering gripping my shirt trying to get the words out.
"A-amity.. baby help- please... it's happening-"
Looking at her now tear filled eyes I start sobbing holding her close
"Ami.. hey wait don't cry- you'll be alright you'll live life just the same-"
I feel myself fill with anger
"Yeah and I'm living it WITH YOU, your mom might not have the money to- but I DO!"
her eyelids threaten me that they're going to shut, picking her up I pull out my portal key
"But you only have snails..."
I look at her firmly and say only one word
"EXACTLY..."

The healers coven takes her into an operation room as soon as I tell them exactly what is going on
"I will pay you cash- ANYTHING to save her I don't give a damn if she's human- she is MY human"
The doctor hands me a clipboard with a slip and I sign the bottom line and rush out the hospital door straight to the manor to get my saved allowance, slamming open the door I run past dad and up the stairs
"AMITY BLIGHT YOU STOP RIGHT THERE!"
Trying to ignore him I hear mom's voice joining the walkway, going into my room I pick up the key hidden under my dresser and open a wooden box, quickly counting the snails I find myself just two thousand short. Jumping the steps three at a time I feel someone grab my arm, turning around I see dad looking angrily at me
"Now what are you doing in MY HOUSE after running away?!"
My eyes fill with tears as my hands shakily grip my snails, he looks down and snatches all of the bills up
"WAIT DAD NO PLEASE I NEED MY ALLOWANCE! IT'S VERY IMPORTANT"
I yell out terrified of what might happen to luz if I can't pay for her surgery
"now what is so important that you must waste all of your money amity?"
Mom asks me genuinely worried at my panicked outburst, desperately trying to grab them back I start sobbing. Crumbling to my knees I press my face into the hardwood floor and grip my hair tightly, dads voice appears suddenly concerned aswell
"Amity?? Explain what is happening-"
Looking up mom stands me up, I hug her tightly trying to spit out the goddamned words.
"I need ten thousand... extremely bad- luz is dying of heart failure as we speak..."
Choking on my sobs I look desperately at dad, he slowly hands me my money back.
"Are you short..?"
I nod shakily and say quietly
"Two thousand"
Mom let's go of me and pulls out her wallet, she then says firmly but I can tell she's shocked.
"I'm only allowing this because she's made your life so much better... I've begun to accept her as family"
Running out the door as soon as mom hugs me a second time and hands me the amount I was short I bump roughly into Willow, she runs next to me causing me to say loudly
"I don't have time Willow!"
Rushing into the hospital I say my name and ask for the bill, handing her the money I immediately ask where to wait. Willow walks next to me as I read the roster my finger finding luzes name under 'emergency', sitting down I cradle my face in my hands Willow sitting next to me
"Why is luz in emergency surgery..? Did something happen with eda..?"
I look sideways at her and shake my head slowly looking back at the ground, I feel useless... unable to say anything... until I say completely drained of all energy and emotion.
"No..it's not eda.. luz has h.g.f Willow... I'm just hoping she makes it out okay..."
My knees bounce roughly causing my whole body to shake along with it, around me I hear every. single. damn. heart monitor- crying when one flatlines and an alarm goes off, Willow hugs me close to her. Resting on her I cry softly my face so covered in tears all I see is darkened cool grey, I close my eyes to stop my crying, my complete lack of energy forcing me to sleep. Being shaken awake I jerk up and look at Willow, she smiles gently and says softly
"Her surgery's done.. c'mon lets go get you to her.. she's not awake yet but she'll be so happy to see you when she does"
Standing up I swiftly follow Willow to the room labeled '402'. seeing luz breathe steadily I sigh relieved, pressing my hands to my face I walk in a woozy circle as tears fall down my cheeks. Willow gently waves goodbye to me and closes the door behind her, sitting on the couch I look at luz still asleep from the drugs. Standing up I cup luzes face in my hands and kiss her forehead, my thumbs brushing loose strands of hair away. Returning to the couch I wrap the blanket folded at the end around me, resting my head on the armrest I try to keep awake but I eventually fall asleep.
"A-amity..?"
Luzes slightly weak voice jerks me awake, standing up I sit on the edge of the bed and run my fingers through her hair
"Hey... how are you doing luz..?"
She smiles at me gently her eyes opened just enough to see me, her voice replies quietly
"I'm alright... every vein in my body aches though..."
She tries pulling me in only to lay back down her face in a pained grimace, slipping off my shoes I lay next to her and rest my hands on her nearest shoulder, she looks at me with happiness her hand going to rest on mine.
"It's just your body adjusting to the magic luz... it'll only be a couple days"
Resting my head on her shoulder aswell I smile when she brushes my hair away from my eyes,
"I was so worried luz... I missed each second I couldn't see you-"
Scooting herself just the tiniest bit closer I wrap my arm around her waist gently, my other acting as a pillow for my head she looks at my face dry and slightly cracked from my tears, she slowly rests her hand on my cheek her thumb rubbing my cheek ever so softly
"Does mom know yet...?"
I shake my head no and mutter guilt in my tone
"I wasn't in the best state of mind.. I can call eda and ask her to tell camilla"
She nods gently and I lean over to pull my phone out of my pocket, she looks down at the screen as I call eda's phone
"Hey boots what's up for the late call?"
I sigh gently and say as serious as my mind will let me
"Can you please- I'm not asking tomorrow or the next. Today- please get camilla to room 402 at the hospital here in the boiling isles.. luz needs her.."
I pause looking at luz
"And you eda.."
I hear slight scuffling on eda's end as if she's in a hurry
"What's happened..??"
Luz slightly pats my arm, looking at her she presses the phone down and presses the speaker button
"Hey eda.."
Luz quietly mutters I can hear eda sigh relieved
"Hey kid.. what's going on?"
Luz chuckles slightly wincing at the swift movement and replies slowly
"I just got a heart transplant.. I feel great-"
The shuffling gets louder, gently kissing her temple she smiles at me brightly.
"No need to ask twice I'm getting camilla now-"
Luz gets closer to me, her eyes closing in great comfort.

This is deadass October 22nd I just watched infinity war- and I created this part in September- but I just realized that I SO made a "mr. Stark I don't feel so good" reference without thinking- I was trying to make it like all heart pulling and stuff but I hadn't realized that I did that until now
