When i was a little lad i grew up in a cottage
it was quite subdewd not many people were near
i lived with me and my mummy and daddy
then daddy left
mummy was so strong
we didnt have much money
but there was one thing mummy always made as a treat.
berries and cream!
i would get so exited for it that i started making up a little dance,then a little song.
mummy loved it so much when i did it
sometimes it would make her laugh and sometimes it would make her cry.
one day i was out picking berries and catching bugs in the field, i was so exited to show mummy what i had.
the skys were blue and it was a nice sunny day.
as i was galloping through the feild i heard something, like a cry or yelp of some sorts i had to go investigate, i followed the sound and it lead to the woods.
between two bushes i saw a little kitten helpless. had its mummy abandoned it? it was gorgeous. it had snow white fur big blue eyes and the cutest pink nose! i has to show mummy!!
i scooped the kitten up and put it in my basket that all the berries were in, the pigment from the berries made little colourful spots on the kittens blinding white fur.
i chuckled to myself. the kitten looked like a bowl of berries and cream!
on the way back to mummy the kitten fell asleep it looked to darling curled up fast asleep.
mummy loves cats i thought to myself mummy loves everything
finally i made it home, it was dark out already "mummy im home!" no answer "mummy?"
i opened the door to her bedroom to see her passed out on the floor "mummy mummy please wake up" i said while gently shaking her
she opened her eyes softly "jack? oh baby im sorry mummys just a little tired"
i knew mummy was lieing
"mummy i brought some berries and i found a kitten! her names berry :)"
mummy chuckled "thats lovely baby could you do the berries and cream dance? it always cheers me up" she smiled weakly
"of course mummy! berries and cream berries and cream im a little lad who loves berries and cream!!" mummy laughed quietly as
Berry jumped on her lap "shes gorgeous"
~6 months later~
mummy hasnt been well for a while now.
especially in the last couple of days. i walked up to her to feed her brekfast "heres breakfast mummy" she was smiling but i could see tears welling up "not today baby" she nuged the bowl towards me "eat it you need your strength" "no mummy! you need it more than me" i protested
"baby i want you to know i love you, look after yourself and berry for me"
"what are you saying mummy! please dont leave!"
"i love you"
now mummys gone
