Chapter One:
Unknown
Nezumi wasn't much of a social person, he stuck to corners at parties and didn't go out much.
But he was wildly known for his success in card games and video games. He was one of the top card game players in the world, he was quite proud of himself if henhad to be honest.
From the ripe age of 8 he had started learning how to play card games with his father. He knew how to lie cheat and decieve to play a game and bend it to his will. He knew what moves to play and what to watch for when it came to others.
By the time he was 19 Nezumi was known as a professional gambler.
Winning tournaments and travelling all over the world while still keeping himself a complete mystery Nezumi one day finds himself completely alone.
"Is this heaven?" He asked himself walking around Tokyo.
It had been his last trip for the month, having just got back from the States another win in his belt.
Normally this part of Tokyo was packed.
So where had everyone gone?
That's where he found his first game.
Walking into the building hands in his pockets Nezumi sports a bored look on his face. Pushing his hair back he finds a table with phones on it.
Deciding not to waste time he grabs the phone taking notice of the facial recognition.

More people had walk in after him all grabbing phones.
He took this chance to skim through the phone finding a levels page.
Smiling to himself he decides this must be an easy level.
Two of clubs doesn't seem so bad.
Whatever he had just gotten into was playing at his skills.
10 minutes until registering closes
Fuck not enough time.
He looks around.
Currently 7 players excluding himself, one was a jumpy woman who looked as if she was terrified out of her mind.
Nezumi wondered what she had seen in her time here.
Another man, he was way older than Nezumi that's for sure. Looking him up and down all the young boy could see was false confidence. From the way his leg jittered to the deadpanned face and quivering lips.
The man was just as terrified if not more than the woman the mouse boy analysed earlier.
Two more people were on his right, though they seemed to be together. On their wrists were blue bands.
Nezumi squinted at them.
5 minutes until registering closes
Shit.
No more time for people watching.
Nezumi looked around the room. It was slightly small, not too much space.
A door in front of them and two on the side.
All three had a series of different numbers.
Registration closed
8 players
Level: Two of Diamonds
Objective: Find out which door is the correct one in the slotted amount of time
First room: 3 minutes
Instantly Nezumi was at one of the doors.
Looking at the numbers there were commas. Naturally the rest of the participants thought it was a number order.
While the other 7 figured out the doors Nezumi was already at the next one. Each time he reached a door he would look down at his phone.
Then it hit him.
"The doors correspond with the amount of time we're given!" He spun around holding up his phone. "We were given three minutes so we add up the numbers and the one that adds up to three minutes is the door we go through."
One of the others was sceptical.
"I don't believe it!" He ran to a door at random and threw it open immediately met with a laser to the skull.
1 minute remaining
Now Nezumi was terrified, as were the others.
If that door was wrong there are still two others. Going along with his theory he steps in front of one of the doors.
Hand gripping the door he closed his eyes tightly and threw the door open.
30 seconds remaining
He lets out a sigh of relief when he wasn't dead.
Walking into the room he finds three more doors.
This time it was a different amount of time, so all 8 players went on through each room like this. Until they hit the last door.
"What now?" The jumpy woman Nezumi looked over before the game asks him. She walks up behind him a scared look on her face. "Which door is it?"
The boy had his hands in his hair looking at each door.
Instead of numbers each door had a card.
Left: Three of Hearts
Right: Three of Clubs
Ahead: Five of Diamonds
Nezumi was wracking his brain.
15 seconds remaining
Bingo.
"It's right." He runs over to the door while the false confident man goes to the left scoffing.
In his moment of regained confidence he stopped believing Nezumi. Unfortunately that led to his and a few others demise.
Screams were all Nezumi heard as he crashed onto the ground of the next room. Panting harshly.
He was too late.
Only him, the scared woman who followed him closely, and the two people with wrist bands, who he had noticed watching him the entire game.
All the others with lasers through their skulls.
Nezumi stared in shock.
He looked up at the ceiling breathing hard.
It was a terrifying game, but somehow he liked it.
