THE MAGIC WE LOST
Belief; often brushed off as something trifle,
Smiles to itself amused by our foolery.
An incredible source of numerous things colossal,
Like, let's say..... magic?
The architect of my dreams and your hopes, my fears and your limitations,
Anything the individual allows it to take form of; it's no less than sorcerey.
Where did we lose them as we grew up?
Were they left behind when you, a realist, ceased dreaming?
Abandoned by me when I chased after the world?
Or stolen by them who kept on preaching about reality?
Long forgotten are those little yet striking tricks,
That require no witchcraft or wizardry, just a human and their beliefs.
As we've aged, I hope it's not too late to open up that chest of wonders,
That we hid in the caverns of our heart,
To run away from the world and from ourselves.
The stars in your eyes, that you hid away,
The constellations that I broke;
It's time to revive those flickering, yet faithful guides and rejoin the stars,
With our dreams and hopes for the world,
To make our skies scarred, yet beautiful again.
