No Warning
Seto never made his advances too noticeable for multiple reasons. He didn't know how you would react, teasing from his team, and he didn't want anyone to target you. So he would simply just talk to you if you started the conversation, or casually touch you gently. Whether if he was holding the classroom door for you, and he would gently place his hand on the lower part of your back to usher you out. Catch you if you tripped because you were really clumsy, or brush his hands over yours.
Nothing that was too flashy, and it was just simple gestures that you wouldn't take as anything but him being kind. Truth was though, he was in love with you and he really wanted to call you his. He kept his typically tired face, when it was time for group projects. You were the only one who didn't mind, though he did help you. He refused to let you do all of the work, because he didn't want you to think bad of him. Despite the rough play during basketball, which he hoped you didn't know about.
Currently, you were in a rush because principal wanted to talk to you. So you ran past Seto, but like usual when you moved to fast you tripped causing your books and stuff to fall to the floor.
"Owe, clumsy me," you mumbled to yourself, as you quickly grabbed your stuff, with the help of a someone. You looked up to see Seto, handing you your book bag with your books in it. You put everything in your bag, before he helped you off of the floor.
"Thank you again Seto~kun," You flashed him a smile, and he looked away.
"You shouldn't rush too much. You will get hurt eventually,"
"I know, sorry I bothered you. Oh no, I gotta hurry," you bowed your head and rushed to the office. He shook his head yet a small smile on his face as he made his way to the gym. He was tired and went back to his normal look so the team didn't suspect anything.
"(L/N), thank you for coming."
"No problem sir, what's wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong per say," he said just as Hanamiya walked into the office as well. Hanamiya glanced you up and down before looking at the principal.
"Does she even know about basketball?"
"Huh? I mean yeah, I use to play all of the time before I messed up my knee, which was non basketball related more softball related but it affected how I played sports."
"Oh..." Hanamiya looked to the side and you looked at the principal.
"Anyway, you aren't in a club right (L/N)?"
"No, I am not."
"I was wondering if you could be their manager/coach. Hanamiya was the coach but the amount of times another team as got hurt after playing them increased. So its either disband the basketball team or them find a coach. So will you do that? I am not saying you have too..."
"What was the point then? If she says no? No one else is going to say yes. Plus..."
"I will do it, if that is okay with Hanamiya," Hanamiya looked at you surprised.
"You do realize that will tarnish you perfect little reputation."
"So?" You both had a stare down, and Hanamiya smirked.
"Fine with me, as long as we can continue to play."
"Very well then, thank you (L/N), you guys have a good day."
You and Hanamiya walked together to the gym in silence, you could feel him watch your movement which kinda made you nervous. When you walked in everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at you which made you kinda nervous.
"Who is that? She is really cute."
"Shut up Yamazaki..."
"Guys, as of today, the principal said I cannot be the coach because of the amount of teams that got hurt. So (L/N) here will be replacing my coach status..." Hanamiya said, Seto lifted his sleep mask off of his face to look at you. He really had hoped you would reject it because now you really would see their play style.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" You glanced at him before removing his arm from your shoulders.
"No."
"Will y~"
"No." Hanamiya smirked noticing that you didn't bat an eye to Hara's flirting which meant he wouldn't have to worry about the team getting distracted.
"(L/N), so we are clear, I am still in charge of the plays."
"Alright, that's fine with me." You said shrugging your shoulders and he nodded before telling everyone to get to practice. Seto got up as well, much to everyone's surprise.
"What not going to sleep during practice?" Hara popped his gum, and Seto glared at him.
"I bet it's because of (L/N)," Yamazaki said and Seto rolled his eyes. Practice began and you just pretty much provided water, and towels to the team when they needed it. When practice was over, you stopped them from leaving the gym.
"You guys are forgetting something..."
"What?"
"Stretch... you guys will end up sore if you don't stretch before and after practice." You said and everyone dropped their bags.
"Do we have too? I am just wanting to sleep." Yamazaki complained but you kicked him behind his knee lightly and he instantly fell to the floor.
"Yes, you do. That was a simple demonstration."
"Owe...."
"I didn't even kick you that hard, stretch." You crossed your arms, and everyone began to stretch. You watched before hearing Seto's voice.
"(L/N), can you help me?"
"Of course Seto~kun..." You said out of habit, everyone stopped to look at you. You didn't see anything wrong with it but Seto had a small tint to his cheeks. He was use to you calling him that alone, not in front of people."
"Seto~kun?" Hara asked and you nodded.
"Yeah, why?"
"Just how close are you too?" Furuhashi asked and you shrugged your shoulders.
"We just see each other, and have the same class. I always called him that." You put your knee gently on his back and forced him down, much to his pleasure.
"Seriously? But like people call others that when they like them..." Hara smirked and you blinked. Your innocent side was starting to show.
"I do like him..... he has kept me from harming myself more times I can count."
"Heh!?"
"She doesn't mean it in the way you guys are thinking." Hanamiya said and you glanced down at Seto.
"What are they talking about."
"Ignore them, they are idiots."
"Mm kay... anyway you guys are good to go now.. It should help eliminate some of the soreness you may feel tomorrow."
"Thanks..." They left and you gathered your bags, before Seto tapped your shoulder.
"Would you like me to walk you home (L/N)? It's dark out."
"I should be fine..."
"Yeah, but let me..."
"I don't want to be a bother."
"You won't be..." He smiled slightly, and you fought back a blush that wanted to appear on your cheeks.
"Alright...." You both left after locking up the gym, and began to head to the bus stop. It was silent which you didn't mind, it wasn't uncomfortable or anything. Once the bus came, he placed his hand on your lower back ushering you inside. You smiled and sat down near the back, and he sat beside you.
"Thank you again."
"It's no problem, plus it seems we live semi close to each other since I often catch this bus too."
"Well that's good, glad you don't have to go out of your way..." You let a small yawn out which made him smile slightly.
"What stop do you get off at?"
"The last stop."
"Okay, go ahead and sleep. I can wake you up when we arrive."
"No, I won't do that to you..." You protested but he simply wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you into his side. He was really warm and despite being sweaty, still had his natural scent. That alone was enough to lure you to sleep, he glanced down shaking his head before looking out the window. He never knew he would be lucky enough to get closer to you than he was before but he was glad.
After about fifteen minutes, you began to wake up confused. Your eyes fluttered open as you looked around, before looking up at Seto. He felt your movement and looked down at you. You blushed realizing you fell asleep and began to move away, but he tightened his hold on you.
"Stay..." He mumbled and you slowly nodded your head, with a small blush.
"Thank you for letting me take a nap on you," you pressed a small kiss to his cheek. He turned his head, so you would kiss his lips. He wasn't sure why he did that, but the feeling of your lips on his made him sigh in content. You felt the blush grow darker on your cheeks as you both slowly pulled away and he glanced down at you. His cheeks were also tinted red and you quickly moved away from him.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to I mean I did. But I..."
"Its okay..." you placed your hand on his arm gently which caused him to look back at you.
"I don't mind, I just wasn't expecting it."
"I really like you, if it's not noticeable." He finished and you smiled shyly.
"I like you too, uhm more than a friend."
"Will you be my girlfriend then?"
"Of course..."
He pressed a kiss to your forehead and you couldn't help but smile widely. You nuzzled into him waiting for your stop to come.
