"Veronica Gianna Ferrero de Romano!"
Instead of answering, the girl's eyes remained glued to the book, she was supposed to read for English.
"Did you not hear me calling you?" Victoria asked, propping herself up in the doorway of her sister's bedroom.
"I heard you, I'm sure all of Lakewood heard you." the older twin hummed, never looking up at her sister.
"Ha, very funny Ronnie." the younger twin smiled sarcastically.
"What do you want, Victoria?" Veronica questioned with a sigh.
"I wanted to talk to you and see how you were feeling," Victoria answered, walking further into the room and taking a seat on the edge of Veronica's bed.
"Spit it out, I can feel the judgment radiating off of you." the older twin mumbled.
"I'm not here to upset you or anything." the younger replied.
"Ronnie, last time something like this happened to you, you promised me that you would take care of yourself and not let it happen again. You broke that promise, why?" the girl questioned.
The older brunette sighed in defeat. "I'm sorry Victoria, for scaring you, it wasn't intentional, it just happened and it all happened so fast," she explained.
"It's okay, we all make mistakes but please don't let it happen again, for me?" Victoria said with a sympathetic smile.
"Okay, Victoria, I promise," Veronica responded with a tight-lipped smile.

"So, Veronica, how are you feeling," Elena asked her brunette best friend.
"I'm fine and asking me how I'm feeling every five minutes isn't going to make me any better, " Veronica replied with a sarcastic smile.
Elena rolled her eyes at her friend's sarcasm. "I was worried about you, no need to be rude." the blonde girl heaved.
"Yeah, Veronica, we were all just worried about you, so a little less sarcasm would be nice," Kyle added.
"I'm thankful for your concern but it's annoying having someone constantly wanting to watch over you when I'm capable of doing it myself." the Ferrero girl stated.
"What are we talking about?" Ace questioned as he took on the bench with Victoria copying his action.
"Veronica is being a party pooper," Elena announced.
"As usual." Ace said with a teasing smile causing Veronica to slap his shoulder.
"You guys are the worst, seriously," Veronica snorted.
"But you still love us," the blonde Sanders boy hummed.
"Unfortunately I still do," the brunette chuckled.
"When did you two make up?" Kyle questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Yesterday, at the hospital," Ace confirmed.
"I see," Elena commented, nodding slowly.
"You're acting like you didn't want us to-."
"Hey, Veronica, can I talk to you?" Jaxson questioned cutting Ace off.
The three friends gave Veronica a pointed look, waiting for her response.
"Uh, sure." the girl responded, rising from the bench.
"What's your deal?" the Adamson boy queried
"What are you talking about?" the brunette questioned.
"I mean, how as soon as Ace apologizes to you, you just totally disregard my existence." Jaxson scoffed.
"I'm not ignoring you," Veronica affirmed.
"Yes, you are, I waved at you and you walked past me like you didn't even see me." the boy raged.
"No, I'm not Jaxson." the brunette stressed.
"Whatever you say, Veronica, let me know if you still want to be friends." Jaxson sighed, walking away from the Ferrero girl.

"Why are you not sitting with Veronica?" Kai queried with furrowed brows.
"She's avoiding me, but she doesn't want to admit it." the Adamson boy sighed.
"What did you do?" the Ferrero boy questioned.
"Absolutely nothing."
"So why would she be avoiding you?"
"She and Ace made up at the hospital yesterday," Jaxson stated.
"What does he have to do with anything?" Kai asked.
Jaxson sighed, wiping his hand across his face. "I don't know, Kai," he scoffed.
"I'll talk to her for you," Kai stated, with a sympathetic smile.
"Thank you." the boy responded.

"Veronica Ferrero de Romano!"
Veronica rolled her eyes at the sound of her brother's voice." Why are you and Victoria so obsessed with screaming my name?" she asked.
"Why aren't you talking to Jaxson?" Kai inquired.
"Why does everyone think that I'm ignoring Jaxson?" the brunette asked rhetorically.
"Maybe because you are Ronnie, what the hell did he do wrong? the youngest Ferrero sibling questioned.
"He didn't do anything." the girl whispered.
"So why are you ignoring him all of a sudden?"
"I don't want to lose my friends, we've known each other since we were little, with the expectation of Elena and she too is one of my best friends. So, I'm sorry if I'm trying to salvage my decade-long friendships!" Veronica exclaimed.
"They're not your friends Veronica, they just hang around you and Victoria to look good and for popularity," Kyle stressed.
"Okay, so how do you know that Jaxson is not doing the same damn thing?" the girl fumed.
"Because I can see he cares about you!" Kai yelled.
"He's sincere unlike Ace, he wouldn't stab you in the back to save himself," the boy continued.
"You've known him for five days, how do you know he won't betray you?" Veronica asked with a raised eyebrow.
"He's more loyal than Ace will ever be." the boy commented.
"What has Ace ever done to you?"
"Nothing, I just don't trust him" Kai dead-panned.
Veronica nodded with pursed lips. "Okay, if you stop harassing me, I'll apologize to him." the girl said.
"I can live with that." Kai shrugged.
"Good, now get out of my room!" the older of the two siblings snapped.
Kai chuckled at his sister's attitude. 'Anything you say, Your Royal Highness." he said with a salute.

Veronica was stood on the porch of the Adamson house, well she'd been standing there for at least fifteen minutes. Wondering if to knock on the door or turn around and go back home. Finally, deciding to push her hesitance away she knocked on the door.
A minute or so later the door swung open revealing, Jaime Adamson.
"Uh, Jaime, is your brother here?"
"Yeah, he's upstairs in his room. Come in," the younger brunette said beckoning Veronica further into the house.
"His room is the first left turn up the stairs." the girl continued.
"Thanks, Jaime, I'll see you later."
Veronica sighed sharply as she made it in front of the wooden door. Raising her hand, she placed a few knocks on the door.
"Come in, it's open." she heard the boy shout.
The girl pushed the door open walking into the room.
"Veronica, what are you doing here?" the boy sighed as he got up from his bed.
"Uh, Kai sent me over here to talk to you," Veronica muttered casting her gaze to the floor.
"Okay, and?" Jaxson inquired, folding his arms across his chest.
"I'm here to say that I'm sorry." she continued.
"I've come to realize that I kinda enjoy your company and I was wrong for ignoring you." the girl finished finally meeting Jaxson's piercing gaze.
The boy watched her with furrowed brows.
"So, what do you say Jax, do you forgive me?" Veronica hesitated with a nervous smile.
"You're cute when you are flustered." Jaxson grinned noticing the abnormal redness to her face.
"You know, you can be a pain in the ass sometimes." the brunette responded rolling her eyes.
"Only for you Ronnie," the boy chuckled.
"Only for you."
