I stepped into the kitchen only to stop once I saw someone. A familiar figure with long, very messy, unkempt black hair wearing a blood stained hoodie and black jeans. It looked like he had just gotten back from killing someone and his hands were still covered in blood, he was washing his blade in the kitchen sink, his sleeves were rolled up showing blood stained bandage covered arms. I carefully stepped inside trying not to catch his attention, I took a step forward and the floor creaked beneath me making my body freeze in place
Jeff turned around to face me, a wide grin appeared on his face making his slits curve upwards. He set his knife down, leaned against the sink and crossed his arms, "You're not very good at being sneaky, y'know." His tone was teasing and his grin only got wider. I sighed and looked over at him with an annoyed expression "Do you ever shut up?" I walked over to the fridge, grabbed out the milk and shut the door, I walked over to the cabinet and tried to reach for the lucky charms on the top shelf but I couldn't quite reach it
Jeff stood behind me, body practically touching mine and reached up to grab them without any problems, he set them in front of me and looked down at me with a smug look on his face. I could feel heat rising to my cheeks and I looked down at the lucky charms. He pulled back after a while and went back to the sink to wash his hands
I sighed and walked to the counter to make my cereal, Jeff passed me a spoon and I gave him a skeptical look making him scoff. I sat down and took a spoonful of the cereal into my mouth and hummed happily. It was nice to experience a little bit of normality in this very strange place
Jeff sat down across from me and leaned on the table, he watched me closely with a smile on his face. My eyes wandered to his slits, I had always been super into gore and his slits were no exception. The fact that they never closed confused me and the way they almost never bled did too, they only bled a little bit everytime he smiled which was a lot, you could clearly see his mouth through the slits which only made them cooler to me
Jeff took notice of my staring and grinned wider making me glare at him. He always had such a big ego and any compliment, insult or stare only boosted it more which irritated me to no end. He was a self conceited, overconfident, arrogant bastard who took pleasure in other people's misfortune, and yet somehow he fascinated me. Just like Jack he was irritating yet so interesting
I finished my cereal and stood up "Thanks for keeping me company, but I'm leaving now." He fake pouted and tilted his head to the side "So soon? Why not stay and talk with me for a bit?" He grinned again making me groan, he was so annoying. "Yeah not happening." I turned around to leave but he grabbed my wrist "Cmon, I don't bite.. Unless you want me to." He grinned more. Jack walked in and immediately stepped beside me pulling me to him
"I thought I made it clear... They're off limits, especially to you." He held me tightly against his side making me feel safer. Jeff scoffed "You always take all the fun out of everything!" He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms with a frown. Jack let go of me and stood in front of me instead "And you take things too far." Jeff growled obviously now upset "Oh fuck off ya eyeless bastard!" He turned his head away "Fuckin' asshole" Jeff slumped down in the chair with a pout, "Quit being a baby." Jack went to turn around but before he could Jeff stood up and made his way over
I stepped out of the way as to not get in Jack's way. Jeff looked down at him before scoffing and walking off. Jack turned to me and smiled "Are you ok? How's your wrist?" He walked over to me and took my hands in his. I smiled back at him "I'm fine, and my wrist is too." He nodded and we exited the kitchen together, agreeing it might be best if we try to stick together as much as possible
We walked out to the living room to see Toby and Brian watching TV, Toby was sitting on the couch with his legs crossed and his hands in his lap, while Brian leaned over the couch. Brian noticed us and waved as we walked over. I realized that I should be careful who I trust, there are good people here but, there are more bad people than good, and everyone here is a killer
I sat down on the couch between Toby and Jack and tried to focus on the TV. I wondered if I'd become like them, or maybe I'd just help them like Jack does 'I mean I'm good with bandaging and cleaning, or maybe I could help clean up the bodies, it's the least I can do...' I sighed quietly and turned my focus back to the TV
It was nice sitting with then watching TV, yet another small bit of normality in this very strange place. I looked over at Jack who was now sitting upside down on the couch with his head hanging off and his legs over the head of the couch, I stifled a laugh and looked back at the TV. Just another way Jack was strange, whenever he got bored he'd sit in the weirdest positions or he'd fidget
I sighed contently as I pulled my legs to my chest and rested my chin on my arm, this didn't just feel normal or nice, it felt like home, which was a feeling I hadn't felt in a while, it helped me relax and feel a bit safer
